BLM Mexican Mt Road Dispersed Camping

The Mexican Mountain area is a designated wilderness, which means special regulations apply. Motor vehicles are prohibited beyond the road blockade at the wilderness boundary. Practice Leave No Trace principles by packing out all trash, minimizing campfire impacts, and camping at existing sites. Group size limits and permit requirements may apply for overnight stays. Since this is BLM land, dispersed camping is generally allowed for up to 14 days. Check with the local BLM office for current fire restrictions, which change seasonally. Mexican Mountain Road begins at Swinging Bridge North Campground, passes by the BLM equestrian campground, and extends for approximately 10 miles until it reaches a blockade at the Mexican Mountain wilderness boundary.
