Accessible via highway with clear signage, Aspen Campground provides eight overnight sites plus five day-use spots in Gallatin National Forest. The US Forest Service maintains this year-round facility at $12 per night, with potable water, bear boxes, and vault toilets available to campers.
Sites feature mowed tent areas and concrete picnic tables with thick stone tops. Fire rings include removable grills, with additional standing grills available for charcoal use. Brodie B. notes the campground has "potable water, bear boxes, clean tables and fire pits." Sites are well-spaced from each other, though some may present challenges for larger RVs due to tight access angles.
The Boulder River runs nearby, offering fishing opportunities. Multiple hiking trails of varying difficulty levels are accessible from the area, with Natural Bridge Falls located a short distance away. Wildlife encounters are possible, including grizzly bears, so proper food storage in provided bear boxes is essential. Mosquitoes can be present during certain seasons, and some sites may have ant hills.
Reserve ahead for weekend visits, as half the campground typically fills during peak times. Bring quality insect repellent and check road conditions after heavy weather.
