Stunning & Spacious

You park, and then depending on your site, you’re either directly at your campsite or you walk about 100 yards to your site. Each site is in the middle of trees and moss and directly next to the Boulder River. There is a picnic table and fire ring at each site. There is enough space in the parking spaces to car camp but there is not enough space for larger rigs. There are mountains on both sides of you. Part of the road getting here is rough but doable if you drive slowly. The drive here itself is worth it. It’s quite extraordinary. The campsite is not far from the Natural Bridge. I believe there are 8 campsites. I was there on a weekend and there were sites still open. My last morning there I heard drums and so I followed the soft beats to discover a group of tribal members camping in a tipi. That was the icing on the cake for this gorgeous and simple campground. There are no trash cans so pack it in and pack it out. There is no electricity and the water spigot doesn’t work. The sites are first come and $10 a night. There is a vault toilet.

Quite Fetching

Tent camping only

FCFS

FEES: NONE

Trash NO Firewood NO Toilet NO Sites: 8 Pack it in Pack it out Picnic table, fire ring/grill, bear box Water Memorial Day- Labor Day Suggest you boil the water as it is not tested, there is one hand pump

There is a small parking area right at the campsites. This campground is very serene with the soft forest floor and very dense forest. Follow the wonderful sounds of the creek that runs along the side of the sites. It is magical location if you are a tent camper. I am sure a van or small RV could park in the parking lot for the night. The road in is gravel and rough at times. There are a lot of cabins or homes along the road and we encountered a lot of traffic. The backdrop of the mountains is beautiful. Primitive walk-in tent camping in a cool riverside spot

Warning: google maps will take you down a small road with houses. Skip that one. Continue straight on the main road and it will have a turn off for the camp.

At first we we a bit worried about what it would be like. The road there went through 20 some miles of ranching and no trees. Once the national forest starts it is a beautiful area.

This is also walk-in tenting only. The sites are beautiful and hidden under trees. There is plenty of room between sites giving you privacy. The river is right next to the campsites - perfect sound to relax to. A hand pump water source is here. This is primitive camping in a cool little spot.

There is a historical site open to tour on the weekend. Natural Bridge site is on the way here with hiking. This is a nice place but it doesn’t handle our teardrop camper.
