Best RV Parks & Resorts near Robstown, TX

RV parks near Robstown include Coastal Hideaway RV Park in Rockport with full hookups and big rig friendly sites, Sea Breeze RV Community Resort in Portland offering concrete pads with 50-amp service, and Hatch RV Park in Corpus Christi featuring level concrete sites with full hookups. "The sites are wide and level and have full hookups with 30/50 amp. Good water pressure. Sites are all back ins, big rig friendly and easy to set up," noted one visitor about a nearby military park. Rockport RV Resort by Rjourney provides pull-through sites with both 30 and 50-amp electric hookups, though some travelers report tight spacing between neighboring sites, making awning deployment challenging during peak seasons.

Throughout the coastal region, RV travelers should prepare for occasional high winds that can affect awnings and slide toppers. Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort maintains individually owned sites with specialized features like wet bars and cabanas, while Portland RV Park offers 19 sites with full hookups for larger rigs. Cell service varies across the area, with stronger signals closer to Corpus Christi and more limited coverage in outlying parks. According to one camper, "The goat heads or grass burrs are a nightmare especially if you have dogs. They absolutely can't run in the grass." Most parks in the region remain open year-round, though winter visitors should expect salt accumulation on vehicles when staying at beachfront locations. Dump stations are available at most parks, though several reviews mention occasional backups during busy holiday weekends.

    Goose Island State Park Campground

    Right on the Bay

We stayed 14 nights in one of the Bay sites. Really enjoyed the view and sunsets. We watched Dolphins right in front of us every day. Pros: Bayfront site's view, easy in and out, easy set up, fishing, close to stores and restaurants, nice pavillion with picnic table at each site, Nice dock to fish off of and can fish right at your site. Clean restrooms. Pet friendly with 6ft leash rule. Cons: TTs and 5th wheels are supposed to back in. This causes the pavillion to be on the wrong side. You open your door to your neighbors pavillion. Motorhomes, Cs & Bs can pull in so the pavillion is on the correct side however the W&E hookups are then on the wrong side. (They are working to fix this issue) Wooded section is not big rig friendly. Low hanging branches and many sites difficult to back in to. (We didn't stay in this section, we drove through without 5th wheel) The air boats. There are 3-5 different ones that come in and out ALL day every day starting around 6:30am. They are so loud they vibrate the campers.

    Wilderness Oaks RV Resort

Okay but next to airport with poor park drainage

The previous reviewer is correct about the airport noise.

    Pros:

    • Our RV site was a back-in with plenty of room on a concrete pad with a picnic table. We were in the back row.

    • Our site did not have trees hanging over like a lot of sites (we have solar panels).

    Cons:

    • The campground wifi sucked. We relied more on our own Verizon wifi hotspot (we never assume park wifi is good).

    • Next to airport.

    • RV park, especially on eastern half, has seriously poor drainage. We were trapped in our RV lot, unable to leave, because the water was too deep for our Class A to go through without damage/mess of some sort.

    NAS RV Park Corpus Christi

Nice Mil CG just prepare for stay

This is our 2nd time staying here.
This park is aka Shields. Park has 2 sections. Sect A has grass sites. Sect B has concrete pads and a separate area for tents. Each section has a laundry room and shower building. We stayed in B. Sites are wide and level and have full hookups with 30/50 amp. Good water pressure. Sites are all back ins, Big rig friendly and easy to set up. No matter where you park there is a nice view of the Bay.
I'd give it a 5 star rating but there are a few items that need to be fixed or prepared for. 1st the roads really need to be repaired. Potholes are horrible in some areas. 2nd the picnic tables are so rusted through that many are unusable. 3rd the goat heads or grass burrs are a nightmare especially if you step on one in the middle of the night. Ouch!! LOL If you have dogs (we do) they absolutely can't run in the grass. We bought our pups doggy boots which help some. And this time we brought our leaf blower to blow them off the concrete pad. 4th the winds here can reach 60 mph. Just prepare for it by never leaving awnings out and when bad bring slides in so awning toppers don't get ripped off. (It happened to our neighbors last year) Ants, there are tons of them. I use citronella spray around our leveling gear and tires to deter them from living with us. Lastly if you don't want salt on your rigs don't come here. There are times when its so thick you could use an ice scraper.
Even with those items we really like it here. You can't beat the location to Padre Island and Port Aransas. The sunsets are amazing and walking the private beach daily is never tiring.

    Port A RV Resort

    Learning to be retired

We retired and our first stay has been at Port A RV resort. Very friendly staff and guests. We already feel as though we have been doing this for a long time. Lots of neighbor activities and pet friendly too. 2 pools, a hot tub, several gathering spots, laundry, palm trees... just feels like home.

    Tropic Island Resort

    Great location

The great location. My family and me have stayed here a number of times It's less than a mile to the beach. All the stores and restaurants are all close. Full hook ups along with a sewer. Like any RV park, the spots are close together and tight. They have some pull through, but most are back in.

    Pioneer Beach Resort

Been making an annual trip with a growing friends group for years

A friend and I, along with our families have been making an annual trip to Pioneer for a few years now and only bad part is when it's time to leave. We always book the buddy site that is pull-through and has our campers facing each other with a common space outside our front doors. This also helps with shade when we put out our awnings and have plenty of room for everyone to relax in the shade. The pools, and multiple rec rooms are always clean and in great shape. There is a pen for dogs to play and easy boardwalk access to the beach through the dunes. People are great and a fun family atmosphere

    Convenient Location and Nice Amenities

We’ll maintained park within walking distance to marina and great restaurants. Sites have concrete pads and picnic tables. Plenty long, but very close together. Nice landscaping and great pool and hot tubs. Shower house is super clean and so is laundry. You can rent golf carts here for $100 (24 hours). A short drive to the beach.

Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort

    5601 TX-361, Port Aransas, TX 78373

We stayed here 16 days in a 34 ft. Travel Trailer. Our site had an outdoor kitchen, cement picnic table and benches and a lovely palapa. The resort grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. There is a pool, hot tub, showers and gorgeous private beach. The sites are each individually owned and decorated. We enjoyed the nice walk, up and over the dunes on the boardwalk, right onto the beach.

Staff was super courteous and helpful. Grounds were kept clean.
Great location, located between Corpus Christi& Port Aransas.

I can’t say enough about this amazing experience. We will be back! Excellently maintained RV resort!

Guide to Robstown

RV parks near Robstown, Texas are situated in a coastal region with elevations averaging 30-50 feet above sea level. This flat coastal plain experiences high humidity levels with prevailing southeast winds, particularly during summer months. When camping in this area, RVers should prepare for salt exposure on vehicles and equipment, especially at parks closer to Corpus Christi Bay.

What to do

Fishing access: 6 miles from shore: Portland RV Park provides convenient access to fishing opportunities. "Beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly staff," notes one visitor about this 19-site park.

Wildlife viewing by the lake: Wilderness Lakes RV Resort offers excellent bird watching and nature observation near Corpus Christi Lake. "Right next to Corpus Christi Lake & park. We visited all these places," mentions one long-term camper who appreciated the proximity to natural attractions.

Beach exploration: 15 minutes to shoreline: Coastal HIdeaway RV Park sits just 10 minutes from Port Aransas beaches. "Easy access to Rockport and Aransas Pass Texas. Only 10 minutes from Port Aransas Texas," shares a visitor who found the location ideal for coastal activities.

What campers like

Level concrete pads with full hookups: Hatch RV Park provides concrete sites with proper drainage for stable setup. "Level concrete pads full hook ups and very nice manager. Quiet place even when it was pretty full," reports one camper who appreciated the solid foundation.

Individually owned sites with custom features: Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort features unique amenities at each site. "Each site is individually owned and managed by an HOA. These sites are huge and most have special features, wet bars, cabanas, propane fire pits etc," explains one visitor impressed by the personalized touches.

Clean facilities and security: Several parks maintain high cleanliness standards. "Bathrooms, showers, laundry are up to date & clean. Very nice game room, meeting area, and kitchen," reports a visitor about Wilderness Lakes RV Resort, adding "The staff is great for scheduling entertainment, outings, cleaning, & security."

What you should know

Seasonal factors and weather impacts: Winter brings cooler temperatures but summer heat can be intense. "When a fire starts here you will have to abandon your car and RV to escape on foot," warns one camper about Sea Breeze RV Community Resort's limited emergency exits, highlighting the importance of checking park layouts.

Bug considerations: Coastal parks experience high mosquito activity. "Due to the location though, bring bug spray! We got eaten up by the mosquitoes even with bug spray - they are huge and there's a ton of them!" advises one visitor to Sea Breeze RV Community Resort.

Ant infestations: Fire ants are common in the region. "The ants are terrible. We ended up having an infestation of fire ants in our water bay that we're currently trying to get rid of. There are ants all over the park," warns a guest who suggests bringing diatomaceous earth and fire ant killer.

Tips for camping with families

Beach access logistics: When selecting RV parks near Robstown with beach proximity, consider boardwalk access. "Easy walking distance to the beach just over the dunes with a cart path," mentions a visitor to Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort who appreciated the convenient beach route.

Pool availability varies by season: Some parks maintain year-round pool access. "It has been a safe place while working on the road. Everyone has been friendly and respectful," notes a visitor at Sea Breeze RV Community Resort, which offers a swimming pool popular with families.

Pet restrictions vary significantly: EZ Living RV Park offers pet-friendly accommodations without additional fees. "An affordable quiet campground on the lake in South Texas. Beautfiul oak trees and sites are nicely kept. A perfect place place to fish and very pet friendly. No extra fees for people or pets," mentions a satisfied guest.

Tips from RVers

Military-specific options available: Military Park Kingsville Naval Air Station provides exclusive access for qualified personnel. "Lots of full time military/GS/maintenance employees. Sites are backwards with all hookups on door side," notes one visitor who added that "New park is currently in the planning phase."

Road conditions inside parks vary widely: Check internal roads before arrival, especially for larger rigs. "Gravel roads but they are good roads. Speed bumps (and a very alert security) keep the traffic at a good speed limit," mentions a visitor to Wilderness Lakes RV Resort.

Site spacing considerations: Rockport RV Resort by Rjourney features varied site dimensions. "The sites are large and quiet," notes a visitor about this adult-oriented option.
