Best RV Parks & Resorts near Corpus Christi, TX

Campers often stay near Corpus Christi, Texas for top RV and motorhome choices. "We stayed in site 23 for 3 days. The sites were level, but are oddly arranged in pairs, sharing a wide pad, with the utilities in the middle," noted one visitor about Mustang Island State Park. Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort in Port Aransas provides full hookup sites with 50-amp electrical service year-round, concrete pads, and individually owned sites with outdoor kitchens. Port A RV Resort accommodates large motorhomes with pull-through sites, offering 50-amp hookups, water, and sewer connections. NAS RV Park Corpus Christi features two sections with both grass and concrete pad sites, all with full hookups and 30/50-amp service. Most parks support big rigs, though site spacing varies from spacious at Gulf Waters to notably tight at Sea Breeze RV Community Resort.

While some parks offer beachfront locations with direct Gulf access, others are situated near marinas or bays with fishing opportunities. Dump stations are available at most parks, though Mustang Island visitors reported occasional backup issues. Cell service varies by location, with stronger signals at parks closer to Corpus Christi proper. A visitor at Goose Island State Park noted, "We stayed 14 nights in one of the Bay sites. Really enjoyed the view and sunsets. We watched Dolphins right in front of us every day." Many RV parks remain open year-round with seasonal rate fluctuations. Portland RV Park provides 19 sites with 50-amp electrical hookups but no drinking water on-site. Most parks are pet-friendly with leash requirements, though some have restrictions on certain breeds or sizes. Propane fill service is available at Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort and several other locations throughout the area.

    Goose Island State Park Campground

    Right on the Bay

We stayed 14 nights in one of the Bay sites. Really enjoyed the view and sunsets. We watched Dolphins right in front of us every day. Pros: Bayfront site's view, easy in and out, easy set up, fishing, close to stores and restaurants, nice pavillion with picnic table at each site, Nice dock to fish off of and can fish right at your site. Clean restrooms. Pet friendly with 6ft leash rule. Cons: TTs and 5th wheels are supposed to back in. This causes the pavillion to be on the wrong side. You open your door to your neighbors pavillion. Motorhomes, Cs & Bs can pull in so the pavillion is on the correct side however the W&E hookups are then on the wrong side. (They are working to fix this issue) Wooded section is not big rig friendly. Low hanging branches and many sites difficult to back in to. (We didn't stay in this section, we drove through without 5th wheel) The air boats. There are 3-5 different ones that come in and out ALL day every day starting around 6:30am. They are so loud they vibrate the campers.

    Firefly Coastal Bend- Corpus Christi

    Firefly Coastal Bend

Firefly Coastal Bend Resort in Corpus Christi is the perfect getaway! The resort is incredibly family-friendly and pet-friendly, making it an ideal destination for everyone. The private beach is stunning, and the fishing spots are fantastic for those looking to relax by the water. The staff is amazing—always helpful and welcoming—and the management company is doing a phenomenal job keeping everything running smoothly. We can’t wait to come back and make even more memories here!

    Wilderness Oaks RV Resort

Okay but next to airport with poor park drainage

The previous reviewer is correct about the airport noise.

    Pros:

    • Our RV site was a back-in with plenty of room on a concrete pad with a picnic table. We were in the back row.

    • Our site did not have trees hanging over like a lot of sites (we have solar panels).

    Cons:

    • The campground wifi sucked. We relied more on our own Verizon wifi hotspot (we never assume park wifi is good).

    • Next to airport.

    • RV park, especially on eastern half, has seriously poor drainage. We were trapped in our RV lot, unable to leave, because the water was too deep for our Class A to go through without damage/mess of some sort.

    NAS RV Park Corpus Christi

Nice Mil CG just prepare for stay

This is our 2nd time staying here.
This park is aka Shields. Park has 2 sections. Sect A has grass sites. Sect B has concrete pads and a separate area for tents. Each section has a laundry room and shower building. We stayed in B. Sites are wide and level and have full hookups with 30/50 amp. Good water pressure. Sites are all back ins, Big rig friendly and easy to set up. No matter where you park there is a nice view of the Bay.
I'd give it a 5 star rating but there are a few items that need to be fixed or prepared for. 1st the roads really need to be repaired. Potholes are horrible in some areas. 2nd the picnic tables are so rusted through that many are unusable. 3rd the goat heads or grass burrs are a nightmare especially if you step on one in the middle of the night. Ouch!! LOL If you have dogs (we do) they absolutely can't run in the grass. We bought our pups doggy boots which help some. And this time we brought our leaf blower to blow them off the concrete pad. 4th the winds here can reach 60 mph. Just prepare for it by never leaving awnings out and when bad bring slides in so awning toppers don't get ripped off. (It happened to our neighbors last year) Ants, there are tons of them. I use citronella spray around our leveling gear and tires to deter them from living with us. Lastly if you don't want salt on your rigs don't come here. There are times when its so thick you could use an ice scraper.
Even with those items we really like it here. You can't beat the location to Padre Island and Port Aransas. The sunsets are amazing and walking the private beach daily is never tiring.

    Portland RV Park

SUPER close to Everything, VERY Affordable, All Utils Included

Portland RV Park is a very simple, well-kept park. The owner maintains it as nice as possible, but it’s not a resort— it’s a practical, affordable place for people who work in Corpus Christi, Portland, Aransas Pass, or anywhere in the area and want to be central to everything happening.

Rates are just$600/month with all bills included, making it one of the best values in the region. The park offers a great view of the bay, and you can even fish right off the back of the property!

It’s just down the street from the new public boat dock for easy access to the water. If you’re looking for a quiet, affordable spot close to work and the water, Portland RV Park is a solid choice— simple, central, and convenient for long-term stays or Winter Texans!

    Port A RV Resort

    Learning to be retired

We retired and our first stay has been at Port A RV resort. Very friendly staff and guests. We already feel as though we have been doing this for a long time. Lots of neighbor activities and pet friendly too. 2 pools, a hot tub, several gathering spots, laundry, palm trees... just feels like home.

    Padre Balli County Park

    Best deal in Texas

I love this site Best in Texas, you can see and hear the ocean from your tent, and its on the Island so there are a lot of attractions for visitors. The price for tent campers is $20 day or $125 weekly & it includes power, water and single private bathrooms and single private showers. You can only stay 14 days, then you have to leave for a day at least, but then you can come back for another 14 days. The showers and bathrooms are cleaned a couple times a day. There is no shade, but it has a couple ponds that make it a nice atmosphere. The office staff are the best in the business, bar none, I cant express how awesome they are. It has RV and tent camping, and it is always peaceful. Never seen any rowdy campers, and there are a lot of county park workers doing stuff so it is well monitored for trouble of any kind. They dont harass you though like a lot of campgrounds. You have a gate code and wifi, although the wifi leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. The beach is just across the street, and its a really fun part of the beach with a lot of things going on- people are friendly and there are a lot of things to do on the main road. It is on Padre Island, so you have to take a long bridge to get on the island from Corpus Christi, and the view is awesome on that bridge, but with all the attractions here on the island, you dont really need to go off the island for much.

Guide to Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi offers diverse coastal camping environments along Texas's southern Gulf Coast. The region features flat terrain with elevations typically under 50 feet, making for accessible camping throughout. Strong coastal winds are common, especially during spring and early summer months when gusts regularly exceed 20 mph at waterfront camping areas.

What to do

Bird watching opportunities: At Coastal Hideaway RV Park in Rockport, campers can observe coastal birds in nearby wetlands. "Easy access to Rockport and Aransas Pass Texas. Only 10 minutes from Port Aransas Texas. Sites are large and quiet," notes a reviewer at Coastal HIdeaway RV Park.

Visit local beaches: Portland RV Park provides convenient access to multiple beaches within a 20-minute drive. "Beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly staff," reports one visitor about their beach experiences while staying at Portland.

Airport watching: Port A RV Resort backs up to a small regional airport where visitors can observe small aircraft operations. "They are back up to a game reserve that is next to a small airport. Lots of birds to see. We even seen ski divers," mentions one camper at Port A RV Resort.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple fishing spots are accessible near Sea Breeze RV Community Resort, which sits directly on the bay. "Facilities include fishing pier and swimming pool. Family friendly medium priced. Horseshoes, pet run, Wi Fi included," notes a reviewer.

What campers like

Private boardwalk beach access: Gulf Waters RV Resort offers direct beach access via a dedicated boardwalk. "We enjoyed the nice walk, up and over the dunes on the boardwalk, right onto the beach," shares one visitor at Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort.

Wide variety of site configurations: Pioneer Beach Resort offers pull-through buddy sites that allow camping groups to face each other. "We always book the buddy site that is pull-through and has our campers facing each other with a common space outside our front doors. This also helps with shade when we put out our awnings," reports one repeat visitor at Pioneer Beach Resort.

Heated swimming pools: Several rv parks near Corpus Christi, Texas feature heated pools for year-round swimming. "They have 2 wonderful swimming pools that are heated, yes I said heated. Perfect for the winter Texans, or people like us that just love to go camping year round," notes a visitor at Port A RV Resort.

Bike-friendly locations: Port A RV Resort's location offers safe biking opportunities. "My husband and I love to ride our bike to town on the nice wide sidewalks (that are labeled for bikes or walking)," explains one camper who frequently stays at the resort.

What you should know

Site spacing varies dramatically: Some Corpus Christi campgrounds offer generous spacing while others are quite tight. "The sites are a little tight but adequate. The location is excellent with beach access," explains a camper at Pioneer Beach Resort.

Wildlife viewing opportunities: Multiple campgrounds near Corpus Christi offer wildlife observation. "We watched Dolphins right in front of us every day," reports a visitor to the area.

Wind considerations: High winds can impact camping equipment at certain rv parks in Corpus Christi, Texas. "The winds here can reach 60 mph. Just prepare for it by never leaving awnings out and when bad bring slides in so awning toppers don't get ripped off," advises a reviewer at NAS RV Park Corpus Christi.

Insects and pests: Coastal camping often means dealing with insects. "Due to the location though, bring bug spray! We got eaten up by the mosquitoes even with bug spray - they are huge and there's a ton of them," warns one camper at Sea Breeze RV Community Resort.

Tips for camping with families

Look for dedicated recreation spaces: Many campgrounds offer recreation rooms and community spaces. "They have 2 Recreation rooms with sitting areas, TV's, Books to share, and kitchens for potluck events," notes a family staying at Port A RV Resort.

Consider beach proximity: Direct beach access simplifies family outings. "There is a pool, hot tub, showers and gorgeous private beach. The sites are each individually owned and decorated. We enjoyed the nice walk, up and over the dunes on the boardwalk, right onto the beach," describes a visitor at Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort.

Check for family-friendly amenities: Certain campgrounds focus on providing amenities for family groups. "Access to the beach! Drive your vehicle or golfcart out onto the sand. Sites are paved. Wonderful clubhouse with numerous activities. Nice pool. Clean restrooms and laundry," reports a visitor at Pioneer Beach Resort.

Beach access options: Look for campgrounds with dedicated beach paths. "The resort sits in the middle of Mustang Island, so no walking to Padre or Port A. However, this makes it quiet and it is well cared for. The highlight for me was the proximity of this resort to the beach. Just a short walk to the boardwalk over the dunes and you're there!"

Tips from RVers

Road condition awareness: Several rv parks Corpus Christi, Texas have road issues to navigate. "Roads have quite a few potholes, unfortunately. Wi-Fi was nearly unusable but T-Mobile 5G was over 200Mbps down and perfect for working remotely," advises an RVer at NAS RV Park Corpus Christi.

Privately owned sites offer unique amenities: Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort features individually owned sites with custom features. "Each site is individually owned and managed by an HOA. These sites are huge and most have special features, wet bars, cabanas, propane fire pits etc," explains a visitor at Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort.

Internet connectivity varies: Mobile coverage is typically better than campground WiFi in the region. "The free WI-FI only lasts a week and then you have to sign up. Not very workable for us," notes one RVer about connectivity at Rockport RV Resort.

Salt exposure considerations: Coastal camping means salt exposure for RVs. "If you don't want salt on your rigs don't come here. There are times when its so thick you could use an ice scraper," cautions a repeat visitor to the NAS RV Park Corpus Christi.
