    Woodland Lakes RV Park

    Extremely Nice Park with Ducks!

Extremely nice RV park with large spaces and gravel parking area. Spaces are wide and have a picnic table on a concrete pad. Electric and water is separated, I hate it when water is on the electrical box! Internet speed is really good and they have cable TV hookups. Two laundry facilities, multiple dumpsters, kids play area, dog run, and multiple fishing ponds. There are a lot of long term patrons but still a good number of back in and pull through spots available for short-term. If you need to be in the north Houston area, definitely highly recommended.

    USA RV Resorts Marina Bay

    Central location in Kemah, TX

New, smaller park with all the amenities. Level concrete pads will accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. All are back in sites with sewer, city water, 20/30/50 amp power, cable TV, and WiFi included. There’s a nice club house for parties, laundry facilities, a pool next to the bayou, fishing and kayaking/canoeing in the bayou and a friendly staff that keeps the park clean and cared for.

    Hidden Lake RV Park

    Quiet

We stayed here as an easy close spot to Ford Arena Softball Fields. Literally 3 minutes there. It's a small quiet park that has a few full-time campers. A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available. A laundromat, bathroom and showers are on site; all very clean. Some of the sites are quite close with little shade. Most all have level concrete pads and full hookups. We stayed in site 30, which is a pull through large enough to accommodate big rigs.

    Rainbow's End RV Park

The Escapees HQ at Rainbows End

If you are a full tie RVer you have probably heard of the Escapees. The Escapees is the largest mail forwarding service and the clyb caters to full time RVers. Livingston TX is their main Headquarters, they do have 2 other semi Headquarters in FL and SD. If you are a full timer you now you need a domicile address and a mailing address for many things, this is how we do it. They have over 17,000 subscribers to their mail forwarding service, we are one of them. We stopped by this July to get our domicile done, vehicle registration, drivers license, voter registration etc. It was hot we will not come back in July again.

The campground is split into 2 main areas. They have a lot of deeded lots for you to buy which has houses, motor homes, park trailer or just roof for your RV. They have long term areas, overnighter, short long term, weekly or daily. You do not need to be a member of the Escapees to camp here, but we hear in the winter it does get full.

Camping full hook ups, electric and water, or just dry camping. They have just got some new internet on the area we were camping in and it was good enough to stream. They have a pool, clb house, activity center, 2 laundries, meeting rooms and a lot to do even in the summer. Most site are fairly level most gravel but do have some concrete pads. If it wasn't so hot I am sure we would have enjoyed it even more. One nice thing is they have a care center, areas that you can set up your RV and if you have something wrong with you they will help you out, take you to Drs, provide meals, help you. This is nice for us older folks that we worry about what happens if we need long stay for treatments and we have no home base.

    South Main RV Park

Good for proximity to NRG stadium

My husband and I came to the Houston rodeo and stayed here strictly for proximity to the stadium. The RV park did have a shuttle which was very nice to get us to and from. Most sites are large enough for big rigs, you do have to park on the gravel right in front of your rig which can be tight. Nice concrete pads at each site. Traffic can be loud and there are many full-time set ups here with permanent residents. Has a gate with a code so it did feel safe at night. Small dog park that could use some extra TLC. Laundry on premises, no play ground, good wifi and Verizon service.

Grand Pines of Texas RV Resort

Three Years New Campground with a Great Staff and Extra Amenities

I was surprised this campground had not been reviewed.  We stayed here in Jan '24 on the way to Houston for business.  Grand Pines is located on I-10 southeast of Beaumont TX.  Sites are all full hook-up, back-in concrete 60' x 20' leaving room for us to park our tow car. Grand Pines has high speed WIFI and free laundry facilities.  Grounds were well kept when we were there. Sites are a bit close together. They may now have more long term usage than transient. Still, it is a great stop over to catch up on domestic duties.

    Houston East RV Resort

    Beautiful Landscaped Sites

Ok these are all premium sites, resort is easy off and on i-10. Gated resort, nice sites, roads are all nice concrete, with concrete parking pads for RV and or tow vehicles. The sites are nicely landscaped, grass, trees, picnic tables, full hookups, include cable and wifi. It is located right off and beside i-10, so there is road noise, but everything food, restaurants, shopping, is all nearby. It's a great stop if traveling i-10 passing through. Oh they also have covered RV sites should you want to beat some of that sunshine off your rig in summer heat. There is a small pool that is nice, and a lake behind campground so one row of sites has lake views. We just took a pull through site under the canopy of trees, it's very nice!

Guide to Liberty

RV parks near Liberty, Texas offer convenient access to outdoor recreation along the Trinity River system and neighboring lakes. The region has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and hot summers, making water activities particularly popular during summer months when temperatures reach 90-100°F. Most campgrounds maintain year-round operation with good cellular coverage throughout the area.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: At Lone Star Lakes RV Park, campers can enjoy fishing in a 4-acre private lake on the property. "Free fishing in their 4 acre private lake," notes a reviewer who appreciated this amenity. The park is located just blocks from US59/IH69 while maintaining privacy through wooded surroundings.

Beach access: The Bolivar Peninsula RV Park provides easy access to Gulf Coast beaches. "Easy access to the beach," one camper reports. The park features lakefront sites where visitors can "fish and crab in" the adjacent lake according to another reviewer who stayed during fall and winter months.

Outdoor relaxation: Eagles Point RV and Camping offers a secluded setting with lakefront sites. "You can fish on the lake, hike through the land or just relax and enjoy the serenity," states a reviewer who visited during cold weather. The property maintains clean, heated bathrooms which are particularly appreciated during winter months when temperatures can drop to the 30s.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Forest Retreat RV Park receives praise for its maintenance. "They are fanatics for cleanliness; I dare you to find even a cigarette butt on the grounds," one camper notes. The park features large concrete level sites with ample trees providing shade from the intense Texas heat.

Peaceful settings: Many campgrounds offer surprisingly quiet environments despite highway proximity. "This campground is so quiet. It is pretty close to town but once you get here you'll be blown away by how it feels like it's super far from anything else," writes a reviewer about Eagles Point RV and Camping. The secluded atmosphere creates a getaway feeling without traveling far from urban amenities.

Dog-friendly amenities: Several parks accommodate pets with dedicated spaces. "We chose this place because it was the only rv park with a big dog area our german shepherds could run energy off on," writes a camper about Bolivar Peninsula RV Park. The park maintains what one visitor calls "the biggest dog park in the area" for exercising pets.

What you should know

Road noise considerations: Some campgrounds experience highway noise due to proximity to major routes. "My site backed onto the highway but wasn't very loud," notes a reviewer about Rio RV Park at Turtle Bayou. However, others report more significant disturbance: "Property is literally right next to interstate 10 and VERY NOISY!!!"

Reservation policies: Park management approaches vary regarding check-in procedures. At Gulf Coast RV Resort, "Very easy to complete reservation" with concrete streets and pads. Another visitor noted staff will "call prior to our arrival to ask if she could charge our card so she could prepare the packet," streamlining the arrival process.

Site conditions: Weather impacts can affect the camping experience. "It had rained and it was rather flooded! The small areas of grass were unkempt," reports a camper at Gulf Coast RV Resort. Consider recent weather when planning stays, particularly during rainy seasons when drainage issues may occur.

Tips for camping with families

Recreational amenities: Mont Belvieu RV Resort offers family-friendly facilities. "We spent time at the pool and hot tub. The property is clean and well maintained," notes one camper. The resort maintains well-organized grounds with friendly staff ready to assist visitors.

Playground access: Some parks provide dedicated play areas. Gulf Coast RV Resort features "a playground on site" though one visitor noted it "was very wet as well" following rainstorms. Weather conditions can affect usability of outdoor play equipment.

Age restrictions: Always check park policies regarding children. While most accommodate families, some have limitations. One reviewer reported being unable to stay at Houston East RV Resort due to their policy: "No school-age children allowed on the property!" This limitation surprised the would-be camper who decided to seek alternative accommodation.

Tips from RVers

Electrical connections: Multiple RV parks near Liberty offer both 30-amp and 50-amp service. Rio RV Park at Turtle Bayou provides "clean full hookups" with good WiFi, creating a comfortable base for exploring the region. Most parks maintain reliable utility connections year-round.
