Great Place to Camp - Super Fun!

I stayed at this campsite over the weekend and it was great. The facilities are clean with a full bathroom and shower. There is also a fire pit and firewood available if requested. The atmosphere is fun with the winery nearby that plays live music on weekends.

4 hour stay

I only stopped in for 5 hours to take a nap I had just got the Good Sam membership a few days ago and didnt have the card yet. I explained all this to the woman up front and was charged almost $50 for my 5 hour stay. As I was driving toward my parking spot (it's literally a walmart parking lot with…

Great Stop Over

We spent one night here and it was just fine. We drove up with no reservation and the clerk was very friendly. I sell online and she even shipped my package for me. Internet is fine, big covered pool, dog area, lots of picnic tables. We are in an RV so we didn’t hear any noise at all. It’s really a…

Sacred Place

Hueco Tanks is truly a sacred place and the campground is serene. You enter Hueco Tanks knowing it’s something special, knowing it’s something special both culturally and physically. Humans have lived here for centuries due to the natural holes that hold rain water in the stone, and the Boulder…

Nice flat spots

Just stayed here one night. We stayed in spot number 6, 30A hookup. The space and the view of the mountains was very nice, but the bath house may as well have been non-existent. The ladies room didn’t have any functioning showers and only one working toilet. The men’s room had one working toilet…

Awesome!

Stumbled upon this Texas State Historic Park looking for something around El Paso. Called and captured the last site available for our desired timeframe. What an awesome camping area with a bonus of being able to explore the pictographs on both a self-guided and guided tour. Definitely worth a…

A Climber's Paradise, Close to El Paso

This park has achieved legendary status within the climbing community. Located 45 minutes outside of El Paso, many climbing-bum, dirt-bag, vans have parked here to send a few of its more notable bouldering “problems” and climbing routes. We saw more than a few of these great adventure rigs while…

Interesting and Busy

This is an active and protected archeological site. About two or three miles before the park, you will be stopped and questioned regarding your intent. The attendant then radios the park registration desk to inform of your pending arrival. Once registered, you will be sent on to a 10 minute…

Not as expected

We checked out the website prior to booking and were planning on staying for a full week, which luckily didn’t pan out. When we checked in we were told we could only stay a night, despite having made a week-long reservation. Understandable given the circumstances, but it would’ve been prudent to…

Good for RVs, not great for tents

Crowded RV park, but had trees which was nice! Right off I-10 so traffic noise is always present. This would be a good place for RV camping, but not tent camping.

Nice place but small spots

Stayed here one night the park is very nice. Has lots of hiking trails and scenery. The rv parking is small only has 5 sites and no amenities. Be cautious if you have a big rig the spots are not very long and are pull in pull out. We stayed in spot 5 with our 36" and it worked for the one night but…

Odd sounds from Doña Ana Range Complex / Fort Bliss

There are many places along this road (road B059 per Google maps) to pull over and stay the night. Road in is rocky and rutted in places; we made it in our 26ft Class C but a higher clearance vehicle would have made for a much less stressful drive in.  It was extremely windy when we stayed here,…

Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site

April 12, 2019 Loved this park. People wait in line in hopes they can get in for day visit. There are areas that require a guide and some where we can hike alone. We enjoyed exploring the park and climbing the mountains. Campers had to get a permit to climb the mountain by 10 a.m. or they would…

Chihuahan desert mountains and trails

My son and I camped in the Tom Mays Unit of the Franklin Mountains State Park over Labor Day weekend 2013. We hiked up to Aztec Cave and then scrambled above it for a beautiful view of west El Paso and beyond. Lots of other trails. There were plenty of sites and I wondered why there weren’t more…

Other than the view...

Dont have high expections for this place. It was tough to camp in a tent. Staff underestimated the walk-in, which was hard - mostly because of uphill, but also because of unstable and uneven rocks. No showers, of course, because you are in desert’s territory. This place isn’t good for tent camping…
