    Fort Bliss RV Park

    Only the Best

NOTE: Park is only for Active, Reservist, Retired Military members, their dependents, and blood relatives being escorted.

We stayed for 3 nights at Fort Bliss and just Wow!!! It has to be one of the best RV parks we have stayed so far.

The Pros: -Great spots -Great pricing ($25-$35 a night) -Laundry mat ($1 wash, $1 dry) -Dog run -Big grass area to play -Family group hall

The Cons: -Water pressure seemed pretty high, just so happens I lost our regulator and we blew out a hose(thankfully not an RV line) -Hot(it’s TX desert🤷🏼‍♂️)

We will most definitely stay here everytime we go through El Paso

Good for RVs, not great for tents

Crowded RV park, but had trees which was nice! Right off I-10 so traffic noise is always present. This would be a good place for RV camping, but not tent camping.

    Fort Bliss RV Park

Extremely Clean and very well designed

This is a 130 spot park. Totally designed with pulling through in mind. All sites are concrete and full hook up. Excellent over the air TV reception. Verizon coverage is solid 5 bars. They have WiFi however it is limited to the “family room” only. Due to COVID, thus is closed. Easy access from I-10 to US52. This facility is limited to DoD agencies only. There is a Shopette across the street from the entrance. Costs range from $18-25 depending on your status. Would definitely stop here again. The only down side is it’s first come, first serve no reservations. The staff at the office were extremely helpful

    Fort Bliss RV Park

    Super but noisy

This RV park is military ship-shape. Clean, level cement pads. Nice wide sites with aprons to set out chairs and barbeque. Weather was perfect. It's FCFS but calling ahead made us confident we could get a site. Military ID required. Wonderful facilities and very inexpensive. The only draw-back is road noise from Hwy 54. Otherwise great!

Easy to find off the highway.

Stopped in here for a quick over night stay. The facility was well kept, spots were a little tight, but we had no issues with our slideouts touching the neighbors. The grounds were neat and clean and we had everything we needed. Highly recommend for a low frills, easy to access RV park.

Nice CG for Convenient Overnight Stay

We stayed one night (May 30, 2022). The is a nice, easy access CG with large, level pull through and back in gravel sites. It is located at the I-10 and 375 interchange next to a trucking container storage facility– there is a lot of road noise and trucking activity, but no bother. The WiFi was good as was cell service. There are a number of activities available: clubhouse, indoor swimming, tennis and basketball courts, playground, horseshoes, biking and walking (within the RV park). We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It was convenient for an overnight stay. We would stay here again.

    Pleasantly Surprised!

When we booked Mission RV Park, I didn’t really look into it that much. We didn’t know what to expect. Turns out, it’s our new favorite spot to stay when passing through El Paso. The staff are incredibly friendly! They told us about some local attractions that did not disappoint! You are right off the highway, but the campground feels very safe all things considered. Everything is paved and feels super level. They were very accommodating for our dogs and tried to give us a site with a nice sunset view! Would stay here again 100%. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub that are open until 8pm!

    Nice place but small spots

Stayed here one night the park is very nice. Has lots of hiking trails and scenery. The rv parking is small only has 5 sites and no amenities. Be cautious if you have a big rig the spots are not very long and are pull in pull out. We stayed in spot 5 with our 36" and it worked for the one night but if park was full we would felt we where in the way.

    Apparently we are POOR…

…yeah the manager said this to my husband. Guess what, we own the BMW motorcycle and the house behind it in the picture. I wish I could leave zero stars because of the disrespectful treatment my husband received. I’m still in disbelief this seriously happened. I want to let everyone know the RV park person managing during the day on Feb. 16, 2024 was very inappropriate and rude. My husband was kicked out because his camper/tiny home did not have pumps. The manager accused of scamming the RV park, for being poor, and lying about where he works. For one thing, a person CANNOT assume by the way a person looks like and second, why would anyone lie about where he works, especially that place specifically. He can show his ID from his place of work. Wouldn’t that be unlawful? Because of his place of work, the last thing my husband would do is anything unlawful and he has worked for the same company for the last 17 years. He built the camper with his own two hands AND he disclosed everything with pictures when he paid for the first month’s rent. How in the world is he scamming when he paid the lot rent earlier than the date he actually planned to move in. In Tucson, we own a$400K home, own a BMW motorcycle, and a Toyota Tacoma with A LOT of aftermarket add ons which may cost more than some of the campers in the RV park. He enjoys building things and took great pride in the build of the camper. Actually, so MANY people actually stop by and ask if they can take a picture of the camper because of how intriguing it is. Whoever the guy was, really needs to take classes on social/people skills and what is and IS NOT okay to say to people, especially customers. It did not have to go down that route and accuse my husband of being a scammer and a liar. Who in their right mind would talk to a customer like that, especially when the customer(my husband) was respectful when the wife of the fat white guy approached him and told him he couldn’t stay there because his camper doesn’t have pumps. My husband said okay and was ready to leave and not cause trouble. The fat white guy just HAD to come out and put in his rude 2 cents. NOT OKAY!!

    Mission RV Park

    Not as expected

We checked out the website prior to booking and were planning on staying for a full week, which luckily didn’t pan out. When we checked in we were told we could only stay a night, despite having made a week-long reservation. Understandable given the circumstances, but it would’ve been prudent to inform of that fact on the website. The receptionist was helpful and gave us a number to another rv park in the proximity, which was sweet of her. The park seems to have good amenities, and there is a little dog park at the end of the lot and a pool by the office, but it is right next to a truck storage facility and right by the I10, so it isn’t the most tranquil. The website is slightly misleading, and I don’t think I would stay here more than a night or two.

    Good pit sto- LARGE park!

There is a lot of ground to cover at this park! Plenty of hiking with good elevation changes and it’s also very close to the Wyler Aerial Tramway (also from TPWD). It was miserable hot when we were here but it was a good trip nonetheless! If you don’t go by park headquarters there are iron rangers all over to pay your fees! There is only primitive, group and RV camping here so be aware of that!

    Other than the view...

Dont have high expections for this place. It was tough to camp in a tent. Staff underestimated the walk-in, which was hard - mostly because of uphill, but also because of unstable and uneven rocks. No showers, of course, because you are in desert’s territory. This place isn’t good for tent camping because it is camping on rock, and you cant stake your tent into rock. Heads up! We used rocks inside our tent, at the corners, to hold it down against the winds. This is a better place for RVs and the like.

    Great unusual place

We stayed one night and really enjoyed the stay. They have a large outdoor covered wine tasting area that allows dogs. An excellent wine sampling set helped choose a good wine. I’m not a normal wine connoisseur, but the staff was helpful in finding options that I liked. The RV area is just a big parking lot with one electric hookup. The surrounding area is beautiful wine and pecan orchards. Loved this place!

Hueco Tanks is a very small Texas state park and we couldn’t get a campsite. We were extremely pleased with what Gleatherland offered us. Great hot shower, internet, a dump station and campsite hook ups for our RV. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Sacred Place

Hueco Tanks is truly a sacred place and the campground is serene. You enter Hueco Tanks knowing it’s something special, knowing it’s something special both culturally and physically. Humans have lived here for centuries due to the natural holes that hold rain water in the stone, and the Boulder caves that create natural shelters. We took the guided hike with the interpretive ranger (Nicole) and she was FABULOUS. We learned so much about the people’s who lived here before and their petroglyph art. We also learned that Hueco Tanks is a world-class bouldering site. The campground was small (20 spots) and lovely. We stayed here in April 2021 camping in our sprinter van at a site with electric hookups. Beautiful views, boulders, nature. Good privacy between sites. Sunrise was serene, feeling at one with nature and all who came before us in this special spot. When we were there is was quite chilly with strong winds - which made it hard for me some young campers who were staying at another site in tents. Even in our camper van we felt the jolt of the wind. That may have been an aberration or may be a regular thing. Beautiful, special spot. Highly recommend it.

A Climber's Paradise, Close to El Paso

This park has achieved legendary status within the climbing community. Located 45 minutes outside of El Paso, many climbing-bum, dirt-bag, vans have parked here to send a few of its more notable bouldering “problems” and climbing routes. We saw more than a few of these great adventure rigs while there.

We had no idea about the daily permit situation when we pulled off the highway and drove the 8 miles to “check it out.”  The ranger at the front gate handled the traffic coming into the park like a pro, even though there were a fair share of impatient people "who didn't understand the hold up, dude."  And, he offered to call the office for us to see if there was a camping spot for the night.  There was, and they saved it for us...and we stayed for 3 days!  It pays to be kind and patient.

The granite like domes within this state park are covered with pre-historic, and more modern, pictographs, indicating that this area was legendary long before anyone decided to hook a chalk bag to their back pocket and squeeze their feet into tiny rubber shoes. The park protects these sites and limits the number of people accessing the “mountain” on a daily basis, even without a pandemic.

Much of the park is completely off-limits without a permitted guide service. All of these protections are designed to maximize use while minimizing damage to this incredible record of human history. The campsite is quiet, and tucked away in a corner of the park far from the more popular areas, under the backdrop of gorgeous rock. The bathrooms were clean and offered one of the more satisfying shower experiences of any campground in America.  There are electrical hookups at some sites, but if you bring your solar panel you can camp at this beautiful campground for just $12 a night in one of their non-electric spots.

Daily hiking options are as numerous as the bouldering sites scattered throughout the North Mountain. Weaving your way through to the summit of the mountain is an adventure in and of itself. One unique feature of the park is that the gate closes at 6pm, to protect the archeological treasures, but it can be an inconvenience for campers.  Plan accordingly.

El Paso is about 40 miles away and is the closest place to purchase gas, food, etc.
