LegendSuper bare bones RV park, just a dirt lot with rows of RV spots. It’s right next to an oil facility so there are a lot of workers that stay in this park. We stayed here because we needed showers and laundry and the price with Passport America was good atv$17.50. Even the full price of 35 is decent. We got FHU and a pull through site in the overnight area way in the back.
There’s a little playground here, nice showers, and a nice laundry facility. I liked that the laundry had dedicated animal bedding/ oil rig machines so we could wash our dog bedding guilt free. Machines are coin operated, you can get quarters in the office. The office has a nice little store as well, with snacks and beer and basic supplies. There’s free wifi as well.
Definitely not a fabulous place to come for fun, but if you’re racing through Texas like we were and need a place to stop for the night this is a great place for it. It’s nice and quiet because everyone is here just to work, it seems. There were many bees and flies clamoring to get into the RV when we stayed here in early December. Good cell reception for attv& verizon. Our poor dogs’ paws were covered in goat heads- we will be buying some dog boots!

RangerKind of a strange setup and place. There are lights on one side that stay on all night, opposite of the camping areas. The pay box is very difficult to find, it is by what looks like a house in the dark and has flags on it. There are trash cans and picnic tables with awnings in some places. Pretty quiet, overall.
LegendEasy enter/exit. Fast check-in. Trash blowing everywhere; dumpster lids need to be secured. Mostly level sites. Good enough for an overnight if you need to dump and take on water, or if not, stay at a rest stop and save your money.
RangerThe park was at about 10% occupancy so when I got there one dog chained to a trailer without a tow vehicle in sight, apparently left there alone, was barking at me for a brief while. Hey jerks, don't do that to your dog or your neighbors. Mostly it was very quiet with only a couple quiet neighbors over the weekend. I was there for five nights with a great view of the lake and the power plant. The office was not man when I got there so I did not have that little slip of paper to tape to my window like at most Texas State parks. Not a problem.
TravelerSeeing the most recent review (on another pin but same park name) we knew the area was abandoned/seemed a little odd or questionable but without many options in this area we decided to try it. With no obvious spots to park we just pulled off the road (no other options) and set up for 2 nights- a break for a long stretch of road.. within an hour two teenagers came up asking for a tow cause they got their truck stuck in the dried out lake. After that until about 12 am there were trucks in and out trying to help them. Then at 5:30 am a huge white pick up truck pulled up blasting music and circled our two campers multiple times. And I mean circled getting within 5 feet of our campers/vehicles. We stayed in the campers and after about 30 minutes they left but we immediately packed up and left.
RangerGreat overnight stop if you are needing full hook-ups although it is loud due to its proximity to the freeway and Love’s Truck Stop. We prefer dispersed camping but needed full services to be able to shower and fill water so the noise was expected and tolerable. Staff was friendly and facilities were clean. Note: the facilities are not available after office hours which in December are 9-5.
