Stayed in slot 41 right next to the office. Campground is clean and quiet. It sits right on the lake. Will stay again.

We LOVE Big Chief

We stayed for a week at Big Chief in the Spring and loved every minute. All the wild flowers were out. Folks had booked up all the fishing charters and were catching lots of fish. The campground staff was great. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was fully equipped with everything we needed. We checked out the campsites and they are spaced out well, seemed level and had full hook ups. We used Big Chief as our base camp and enjoyed checking out the hill country.

Very very nice

I stayed here for three days and had a very nice time. This has become an annual event for me to come and watch Roger Wilson who is a blues player. He does a concert in early October and I always come to watch him. The campsites are very nice and are located on top of Buchanan dam on a huge lake with outstanding fishing. You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful family owned campground!

What a fun place to stay! Cheryl at the front desk made you feel welcomed and check in was a breeze! We were staying with 2 other couples, who shared a"buddy site" which was pretty cool!(never seen that before) We had a great time! It was a bit on the cool and rainy side but fun none the less. Sites were full hook up and pretty level. We had trees near us but there are many that did not. It held various sizes of rigs so make sure you indicate that when you call to reserve your site. They will do their best to accommodate! Oh, they also have cabins if you need extra room for guests to stay in if you don't have room in your rig! There is a lake for swimming, fishing and boating of all kinds. They have a pool with hot tub. Frisbee golf. Large dog area and many more amenities. Check them out on their website! Have Fun, we sure did!(Only draw back was they had no fire pits and if you brought your own, it has to raised off the ground. We have one that folds up and sits on the ground. Most places allowed this but they did not.)

Beautiful campground right on Lake Buchanan

This place is great. Very well maintained. Right on the lake and they have a boat launch. Spots were level and very clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The only down side it there are not many shady sites. We would totally stay here again. We were in a buddy site which is a plus for any campgound.

Loved this place!

We stayed here 2/5/21 to 2/8/21. It was the first actual RV park we ever stayed at. We normally go to state parks or national forests or Boondock.  Could get really spoiled with full hookups including WIFI! The staff was super friendly, the place was spotless.  It was really windy which seems to be normal in Texas! Beautiful pool and hot tub area. Laundry facility very clean. There was a free super bowl party in the community room. Tons of deer. We greatly enjoyed their Disc golf course. Close to Inks Lake State Park where we would have stayed but glad we ended up here!

Amazing Sunsets

Big Chief was the very first camping trip with our new trailer. We are camping rookies. Big Chief was the perfect stop. Clean, all the hookups you need, amazing sunsets, laid back fishing (they have a guide for hire if that’s your thing), and quiet. Friendly staff make the rounds often in case you need help. “Uncle Troy” is always available for questions and repair. Tucked away from busy roads. Cabins and other amenities on site. WiFi not the best at the spots near the water - but this made us slow down and enjoy the view. (WiFi better near the office.)

First time visit

We really like this park. They had a lot of things to do. I really enjoyed fishing from the banks. Most of the sites are leveled dirt sites with full hook ups. The pull through sites made it easy to arrive and depart with ease.
