Pickwick Dam Campground — Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)

Rebuilt after 2019 flooding, Pickwick Dam Campground sits along the Tennessee River in western Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The campground features 92 level sites spread across interior and perimeter sections, with perimeter sites offering more space and privacy. Views extend across the river toward Pickwick Dam, though a paper mill on the opposite bank contributes noise and odors that some campers notice.

The reconstruction created well-maintained facilities throughout the property. Bob M. notes the bathhouses are "spotless," while multiple reviewers consistently praise the cleanliness of restrooms and shower facilities. Sites accommodate both RVs and tents, with electric hookups available in 20, 30, and 50 amp configurations plus water connections. A dump station serves RV campers, though individual sites lack sewer hookups.

The location provides access to Tennessee River fishing and proximity to Shiloh National Military Park for history enthusiasts. Campers report good cell coverage with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile services working reliably. The office area attracts various bird species, and mature pine trees on some sites provide natural windbreaks and shade. Walk-in access keeps the campground quieter than roadside alternatives.

Reservations help secure preferred sites, particularly the roomier perimeter spots that back up to wooded areas. The campground operates year-round, with level sites requiring minimal setup time for most RVs. James L. confirms "nice level site" conditions with river views from many locations. For regional camping variety, explore campgrounds around Savannah or consider Pickwick Landing State Park Campground just over a mile southeast. Bring leveling blocks for fine-tuning RV setup on some sites.

Beautiful Campground and Rapture area

I absolutely love the birds at the office area. It should be advertised better. It may entice more visitors. The drive through site are going the wrong way. The showers are small, but very clean.

Very nice site!

My two kids tent camped while my parents had their pop up! It was a nice site. There were enough trees that my brother in law was able to set up his hammock system. The site was well kept. There were hardly any blood sucking bugs and no wildlife for protect our stuff from. I think part of that is this site had flooded and rebuilt recently. The staff was very friendly and the area near the dam was really neat. The site is also very close to Pickwick State Park.

Great view and great staff.

Beautiful view on the TN River and the Pickwick Dam. The only negative is the noise and smell of the paper mill on the opposite side of the river. It is also close to the Shiloh National Military Park which is the reason we are here.

So Clean!

This campsite was renovated after flooding occurred. Nice level sites! Our Super C Class did require more blocks for leveling in the front on Site 6.  However, it was a very nice site with plenty of privacy. This site backed up to tall Pine Trees and plenty of grass area for our pups.  New grills.  Updated picnic tables.  Nearby to several local restaurants. If ever in the area, we would return again.  Our A&T Cell Phone and T-Mobile Mifi worked great here.

Nice Spot

This place has been totally rebuilt by the TVA after flooding in 2019. I don't know what it was like before, but wow it's really nice. All the sites are level, plenty of room for a tent and RV on all 92 sites. Close to some great golf & BBQ, fishing,& Shiloh Battlefield.

The perimeter sites are roomier, offer more privacy than the interior ones. Bathrooms and shower houses spotless.
