Whooping Crane Farm is a private glamping site that you can find on Tentrr. The property is 12 minutes from downtown Nashville, making it a perfect Glamping location. Being close to great restaurants is definitely a plus. The site is gated and right on the river, so the only traffic you have to worry about are the barges that are passing by on the river, or any boaters that are out. There’s a pond on the property, and they advertise kayak rentals. You could ride a bike around the property also, if you bring your own bike. The canvas tent was decorated nicely, with some cool lanterns and a wood burning stove. There was a battery powered fan, that lasted most of the night. The bed was comfortable for glamping. There’s a picnic table with a cooking station, and a charcoal grill. Plenty of cut firewood for the fire pit. There is a restroom, but it’s not a flush toilet, just a bucket toilet, but was nice to have while camping. This is a great spot, convenient to town, perfect for a relaxing weekend.

Although this is a remote campground, it is situated in a State RESORT park, so it is more like glamping. The resort amenities and features are all accessible through short hikes via well marked and maintained trails, or by vehicle roads. The resort sponsors many amenities, such as an indoor pool, family activities, gym, tennis courts, hiking trails, horseback riding, golf... it is a resort, after all. Within 10 miles of Cadiz, which hosts grocery stores, general merchandise stores, restaurants, small businesses and family activities.

Used to be a KOA park turned independent. The campground is introducing "Glamping sites" along with their cabin rentals and RV sites. The manager and staff have been great with accommodations. The campground is family-oriented, quiet at night, and offers activities on the weekends and holidays. Though stated in Goodlettsville, it is in Millersville proper. For restaurants and grocery runs, take I-65 South to exit 97. Of course, you have the Nashville scene, but check out Mansker’s Station for some rich history of true pioneer spirit. Opryland and Downtown Nashville are about 20 minutes away, respectively.
LegendWhooping Crane Farm is located In such a great spot, just outside Nashville, it is easy to get to, but convenient to everything. The camp spot is fantastic! Right on the Cumberland River, the spot is very secluded, and plenty of space for a group.
I would recommend bringing camp chairs, in case you want to sit in a shady spot, or by the water. The site has a picnic table, grill, and solar shower, however I would bring a tarp for privacy if you actually plan to use it, as the river is a busy place in the summer, and the shower is in clear view from the water.
There is a pond on the property, which the host, Ellen, allowed us to fish in. The River would be difficult to access, at least while we were there in late August, as there is a big drop off from the bank. I’m not sure if this is normal, or if the water lever was low.
The“loo” is a pop up tent with a bucket toilet in it. It was equipped with poop bags and toilet paper. The glamping tent was awesome. The bed was very comfortable.
We had some heavy rains overnight, and did have some dripping water from the center seam of the tent and had to scoot the bed over, but other than that, I slept like a baby. We love this spot so much, we plan to return later in the fall!

Piney Campground is part of the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. It is wildly popular among locals and travelers alike. Lots to do for kids - bike paths, basketball court, multiple playgrounds, etc. Beautiful views of Kentucky Lake/Tennessee River, nice campground store.
Guide4.5 Rounded up. Restrooms and showers were clean. It was very active during one of the last weekends of the season. While quiet hours were observed, there was a lot of music, celebrating a Tennessee win with a golf cart parade and victorious choral singing of Rocky Top right up until 11pm. Beautiful lake views, good camp store and great amenities.

This was our first stay here, and we had heard great things about it. It is a beautiful state park known as the"Queen of Tennessee's State Parks". There are 4,000 acres with mountain biking, fishing, hiking, picnic areas, kayaking/canoeing, and a golf course. Nashville is only 45 minutes away. The campground was nice. Our site was tight, and we didn't have a lot of room for our truck. We had to move to a different site for the 3rd night and the water connection was quite a reach. The sites were mostly level and some were shaded. The bathhouse was clean and there was a laundry area with 2 washers/dryers. We did have a picnic table and fire ring. We had 2-3 bars of Verizon 4G. There was a playground for the kids. There is a small creek that runs along the western edge of the campground. We did spot some snakes(copperheads maybe?) near the creek. There is a small camp store that had a few supplies, ice cream, ice& firewood. The employees were very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Ranger Review: Matador Droplet at Ginger Bay Land Between the Lakes, Ky.
Campground Review:We visited Ginger Bay boat ramp and dispersed camping area while at Land Between the Lakes(LBL) , Ky. Ginger Bay is actually in Tennessee. The road you take off The Trace, which runs down the middle of LBL, has several signs and other turn offs. So pay attention to the signs. You will end up on a dirt/gravel road with some interesting ruts and steps hills. Once you make it to the Ginger Bay area there are several side "roads" that lead to camping spots. If you are not in a 4 wheel drive you might want to investigate the road before using it, there were several deep ruts. You have the pick of spots if you have a dispersed pass which can be purchased at any of the offices. Direct put in is an option or if you have a bigger watercraft the boat ramp is right there. No toilet facility, no fire rings, no tables. This is a all what you bring with you. Generators are allowed but definitely spoil the quiet. When we visited the ramp was somewhat busy with day-use visitors. Realize when you dispersed camp at LBL though there are no large predators there are coyotes so if you have dogs keep an eye out. Every time I disperse camp I hear coyotes throughout the night, sometimes very close by. A single coyote would probably not bother a dog but a pack will.
Product Review: As a Dyrt Ranger I get to review some awesome outdoor products. This trip I took along my Matador Droplet. This is a little blue water drop shaped silicon shell with a seam-sealed polyester bag folded inside. The 3 liter capacity actually holds a lot. After my kayak trip I put my wet shorts, shirt, under garments and water shoes into the bag. There is a draw string on the bag to close it up. The bag then went into my clothes bag in the back of the truck. The wet stayed in the bag.
Pro's: compact, nice size dry bag, very convenient, cute
Con's: a bugger to get back in the silicon container, takes practice, a little expensive but good quality that will last
I plan on getting a few Droplets as Christmas presents and will probably get a Droplet XL to add to my pack gear.

Well maintained, beautiful setting. We had zero issues getting in and out but the hosts weren't available when we got there at 3. They left envelopes on the door with a map and receipt, so we got everything we needed to set up for the night.

A first come first serve spot. Need to have your camper in the actual spot before paying(different). Had to hook our 38ft 5er up to a 30amp first night even barley using anything the breaker kept tripping. We moved to 50amp the next day and all is lovely. The two sites we chose were large enough to have the truck, motorcycle, and even the boat if we brought it. Nice areas to walk and field to play with the dogs when its not being used. The dumpsters do get full quick with non campers using the field and pavilion for events.
TravelerThis MWR (morale welfare and recreation) campground located just outside of the South Gate of Fort Campbell is a convenient stay if you are visiting or working on fort campbell. It is not up-kept as well as it could be. They will mow the grass near the camping areas often but with bagless mowers that blow cut grass all over your stuff (like your hose and hookups.) the creek and bridges crossing them are falling apart and unsuitable for vehicle traffic. I have stayed near four different Army posts at RV parks and this one ranks the lowest.
ScoutWe brought our camper here to visit family living at the Fort Campbell base, I don’t like that you can’t reserve a spot ahead of time especially since it was an 8 hour drive, but thankfully we did find a spot. The bathhouse area was nice and clean even though we didn’t need it, there were some fields to play around in there and we loved seeing all the deer there! At $25 a night for full hook up this is a pretty good option, would have liked to have had a little more space between campsites but We’ll definitely be back.

Mama D's RV Campground is okay place to stay. The campground is crowded and some of the lots have permanent houses. Each lot has access to water and electricity as well as a small campfire. The area is decently maintained. The biggest positive this place has is the convenience store at the entrance. In conclusion, the campground provides the basics like any other RV campground and is an okay place to stay when there is a lot available.
ScoutThe only thing outstanding about this campground was the wifi - it's the first state park c/g I've been to where the wifi was actually usable. I'm surprised to see others say that the sites were well spaced. The c/g was pretty much full this past weekend when we were there and it was mostly shoulder to shoulder except for the tent area. Like a WalMart parking lot with trees. We were lucky to have a site with some privacy (#62) but it was not level (about a foot off level for our 21' van). The paving for the sites is quite narrow and I don't see how you'd get a big rig on them. But the c/g was quiet considering the crowd and it is a pretty park.

Amenities: Trails are pleasant. Playground is great. Bathrooms are clean but need an update. Not much in terms of wifi or tv if you are looking for that but att and verizon were usable.
Roads feel narrow but we had no problem maneuvering in our 36’ 5er. River sites look great but we booked last minute. Wound up with a corner interior spot (107) that backs to a tent camping area so was fantastic for views, too and this spot was quite spacious.
Location is lovely but is not that close to Nashville if that’s your goal.
TravelerPros: They offer disability/handicap and senior discounts which is nice, not a lot of places offer that. Decent price. Receptionist was friendly. Had a lot of hiking trails around, cool park area. Everything else was mediocre or disappointing.
Cons: The power went out in the entire park in the middle of the night and didn’t come back on for a while. They had a laundry room, but the two dryers they had were out of service. Showers were dirty, smelled like an old moldy basement, didn’t like them at all. A lot of the sites were not very even or taken well care of. Pretty narrow, and some hard to back into. Not much privacy if that’s what you look for. Some sites are pretty close together. Septic dump was really narrow and you’d have a hard time with a big camper/rv.
TravelerNo issues with t-mobile or at&t service. Park is super shady and has a little river running through the back which is nice. Spaces are pretty close and the entrance looks a bit uninviting for a big class A but was totally manageable. The park beyond the campground is really beautiful and well taken care of. It rained for almost the whole week we were there but never had issues with power. Park does flood pretty significantly but not a lot of mud.
