Best RV Parks & Resorts near Baxter, TN

64 full hook-up with 30 and 50 amp electric on the sites. Site 1 only had a 30 amp and was the smallest in the campground. They had wifi and cable TV that was available. Sites were fairly level. I had to use 2 yellow flat blocks on site 1. Restrooms and showers were closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. We were told they were full but several sites remained empty during our stay. Would have liked to have had a lake side site or a larger level site. Owners were friendly as well as the guests. I believe they had some full-time living there too. I would go back.

Mountain Glen is a hidden gem! If you are traveling through eastern TN or just looking for a place to park your RV for a few weeks or longer of peaceful quiet then you have to stay here. I've stayed in RV parks across 38 states and never found cleaner bathrooms, friendlier customer service, or faster WiFi (and that's important since I work remotely!) than what Mountain Glen RV Park offers. They've also got great water pressure, easy pull-throughs, after-hour check-in options, and a convenient store in case you forgot some essentials. In addition to the great amenities, you'll be greeted by rolling scenic vistas of beautiful countryside, having fishing opportunities, pavilion or indoor meeting room to hang out with friends, playground for the kids, and pet friendly areas for your dogs to enjoy.

Mountain Glen is definitely a must-stay and the best of the best of all the RV parks and campgrounds I've ever stayed at!

We were on an sudden, urgent trip with minimal pre-planning and no reservations. We contacted Spring Lake an hour before arrival and they were super helpful, providing a level overnight pull-through site reservation. We were arriving an hour after the office closed and they made arrangements to help us get settled. We were so appreciative of the consideration. Overall we felt the amenities and the setting were the nicest of this 1200 mile trip. Pretty, very well maintained. Level sites with picnic table and convenient hook-ups. The sites are built around a small lake. I suspect most of the leases are long-term. Friendly manager and friendly residents. We walked around the lake and found they had sitting areas and gazebos where you could relax during the day or at night. A couple of miles off the interstate so no road noise and very quiet at night. You can pick up fast food dinner on the way to the park.

This is my favorite place to camp. If you have furbabies you will love it. All campsites except the primitive are huge decks. Electric, water, grill, fire ring, picnic table and canopy of trees. Bathrooms are always clean. Showers have hot water fast. Fire wood is all around in the woods. Kayaking is great! Put in below Center Hill dam. 6 mile run of clear cold water! Stocked with trout. I don't fish but if you do, you will need a trout stamp. If you don't own kayaks there is a store called Big Rock Market. You can contact them and they will set you up with kayaks and they drop off and pick you up. So, back to the campground. Dog friendly, clean, 30 and 50 amp.,coin laundry at the camp store. Dump station and trash. Playground for children, view of the lake from most sites. Marina where you can rent boats. I just can't say enough about this awesome place. Friendly staff. I actually just stopped the ranger driving by to ask him a few questions. I am at site 9 this time. Usually 25. Some have inclines or declines. 9 has a slight decline 25 is flat. When you go to the map and click on a site it will tell you. Like site 23 is right next to a bathroom, but it has a steep incline. So pay attention to that when booking. There are hiking trails and wildlife. The woodpeckers start about 6:00 am. LOL! I have not seen a snake in the camping area. Just deer and birds.

This is a perfect spot for passing through town. We are in our way to North Carolina from Mississippi. My husband made this reservation over the phone with a really trusting kind person. They double checked the availability because they were almost totally full. It was a pull through spot close to the bathrooms. We were able to use just electrical hook up for the night to rest. It’s a few minutes off I-40 and lots of gas options close by. It’s only minutes from Nashville downtown. This is a family owned business with a permanent house in the front. Looked like there were some long term rental people here. If it were summer months there is a pool up front. We will add this to our list for location and price!

This campground is located within the Cumberland Mountain State Park. The sites are set up for RVs and it is very popular.

Pros: There is no camp store, but there are vending machines available. There are restrooms available. Staff is in the office during business hours. There are 2 short hiking trails (less than 1 mile in length each). There are playgrounds, a lake for fishing, and a golf course. Each site has parking for 1 vehicle, a large gravel pad, water and electric hookup, picnic table, and lantern hook.

Cons: site are very close together. Tents and RVs do not have separate loops. No camp store. No showers.

Overall, this campground is set up to cater more toward those with RVs than people camping in tents.

My wife and I camped here on February 15 2020. Super easy check in. We traveled in a 29' motorhome. We stayed in section 1, site 22. It was right beside the shower house. It was a pull through site, but it was a little tight. To my surprise I opened the electric pedestal, and there was only 50 amp service. I'm set up for 30 amp, so I had to use an adapter. Keep in mind, while making reservations, section 1 has very small, cramped together sites.
We took a walk around section 2, and section 3. There was a lot more room, and seemed a little more private. I would recommend them over section 1. Wood was available for purchase in small bundles for $6 each cash only. I was actually surprised by how many people were camping in February. I would suggest reserving your spot a bit in advance. We look forward to returning.

RV pads are in great shape. All of them are level and come with a fire pit, nice picnic table, and an extra wooden table for tabletop grills or whatever else you want to use them for. Bathrooms are good enough. It looks like most or all sites have a view of the water. The shoreline is clean and the grass is mowed everywhere.

The listing here says there are sewer hookups. I don’t see them at any of the sites, so I’m assuming there is a dump station. We only stayed one night passing through, so we didn’t mess with any of that. I also saw something that only listed 50 amp hookup. My spot also has a 30 amp hookup in case you need that and don’t have the dog bone.
