Average Campground

Full time travelers, our stay here was October 13-20/2021. Upon first glance, this place is pretty.  It seems clean and welcoming.  The owner, very nice.

We had a full hookup site.

One thing I will point out for others before they book--there's an option to choose a large green space site, so we paid the extra fee for that and it turns out, it's just a site that is situated across from a green space that is available for all guests to use.  The impression was that we'd have our own green space on our site, hence the reason for paying the extra fee.

There are full time guests living in the campground, and that's fine if they weren't so territorial and unduly curious.  We weren't able to set up our site or simply exist without constant gawking.  It was uncomfortable, to say the least.

The restrooms were private, each with its own shower which is nice.  However, we stayed for a week and the restrooms weren't cleaned the entire stay.  It seems as though some of the guests use the showers for their pets (dog hair all over the floor and in the showers) and do not clean up their mess.  I used each restroom (there is one handicap restroom that I didn't use) and all of them were equally unclean.

The sites are tight and cramped, although it was fairly easy to pull into the site for us as we have a smaller trailer.  The sites in the front are far more level than the ones in the back where the green space is located.

The laundry room was decent. A little pricey to pay for each wash/dry, but it was appreciated.  There's also a wash sink on the outside of the building that we used for doing dishes, also appreciated.

My biggest issue with this place was the water. We didn't notice this the first day, but I started seeing brownish water in our toilet.  As we used the water more, it became evident that whatever water is being pumped into their system isn't good.  Please see photo.  When we unhooked and sprayed out our filter, it was filled with filthy gunk. This should not be the case with a week's stay.

Overall, I would not recommend this campground for full time travelers such as ourselves.

Functional

One step up from a parking lot style campground. BUT it has some character. There are cabins, a showerhouse and pavilion in addition to the row of campsites.

Jamestown, Tn is right outside Pickett SP, Big South Fork and Daniel Boone NF so this would be a good base camp in town near amenities.
