From the time we met and fell in love we have loved to camp, from backwoods primitive tent camping to full hookup from mountains to the beach. In late 2020 we started to build our own little campground on a piece of our 22 acre property to provide a safe clean, drug free place for travel nurses or anyone that is traveling or working close by and wanted to stay in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains.

What Makes Our Campground Special? Grand View Campground & RV Park is a 56-acre property located in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on Highway 226 in Casar, North Carolina. The campground is adjacent to the gorgeous First Broad River. One of the First Broad’s many lovely tributaries, Mountain Creek, also peacefully crosses the property.Beautiful Carolina Blue Sky Over the First Broad River In addition to providing a place where people can escape the rat race for a while, our goal is to extend a family-friendly atmosphere where people of all ages can enjoy themselves year round. We currently offer a fairly extensive list of amenities and activities, and we plan to lengthen that list as we grow. Our hope is that you’ll be right there with us every step of the way. The big blue water slide is one of the main attractions to our campground for the kids – both young and old. Single-slide, hourly, and daily passes are available for purchase.Adults and Kids Coming Down the Slide Another popular drawing card is our easy access to the First Broad River for fishing, wading, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. Kids love to play in Mountain Creek too. And of course, both the river and the creek are wonderful for those of us who simply love observing or relaxing in nature. Additionally, we offer tubing rentals, which includes rental of a tube and transportation to the starting point of a 1.25-hour trip down the First Broad River back to the campground. Throughout the year, we hold special events at Grand View. Those include live musical entertainment, holiday celebrations, and more. If you sign up on our website and follow our blog, you’ll be one of the first to know when the next special event gets scheduled. We post our special events on Facebook too. Chilling Out Around the CampfireWe offer campsites for RVs, campers, and tents. We also rent campers with campsites. Some of our sites are full hook-up (water, power, septic), and others are basic. Most of our sites have picnic tables and grills. There’s a camping store on the premises that sells shaved ice, ice cream, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and miscellaneous camping supplies. Adjacent to the camping store are bath houses, restrooms, and a laundry room. We encourage our guests to enjoy other activities that we offer on site such as basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, hiking, biking, arts and crafts, bingo, Basic campsite by the creek with picnic table is one of the amenities at Grand Viewswinging, seesawing, and more. And there’s plenty of room for a game of softball, soccer, flag football, dodgeball, tag, etc. Or simply relax in one of the porch rocking chairs, or enjoy watching the kids play on the water slide from one of the patio picnic tables. We love animals. Cats and dogs are welcome at Grand View provided they are kept on leashes and don’t cause problems for our other guests. Grand View Campground & RV Park is far enough away from the hustle ‘n bustle that you can easily relax, sit back, and enjoy the serenity and beauty of nature. Yet it’s close enough to many towns, cities, and other nearby attractions that you can take a short day trip and enjoy most anything you want to enjoy: hiking, boating, biking, swimming, live music, movies, museums, theme park, history, science, racing, zoos, good food, shopping, and more. And that’s in addition to all the many fun things we have for you to do right here at Grand View Campground & RV Park!
I stayed at the campground for roughly a month or longer. The campground itself is well kept and clean. There is not much to do at the campground. Supplies can be picked up roughly 15 to 30 minutes away from the campground.
I stayed here for nine days. The campground is clean and well-maintained. The bathhouse is in good shape and clean. I will come back when I’m in this area.
I stayed at this location for 10 days. The campground is well kept and clean. The staff and the camp host were very courteous. It was a very quiet stay. The bathhouse was new and well maintained. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Office was very friendly. They take you to your site which we always so appreciate. Hookups are modern, nice dog park, propane tank for easy fill ups. Fresh donuts anytime, pizza and chicken wings (bone in and bone out) til 6. Very clean and well maintained. Site was perfect for our 43’ Motorhome and dolly. Would definitely stay again.
The campground is well kept and clean. The owners are wonderful and all amenities are maintained in a like new state. They are constantly improving the campground and have family friendly activities for all. Halloween is a must see event in this camp with everyone decking out their sites.
We are well traveled and have visited many campgrounds in various states. This is among the best we have ever experienced.
My husband and I stayed here for a few days at the beginning of October. It's very quiet and peaceful. What I didn't like was they had no activities like most other camp sites. They do have hiking trials and fishing until 8pm. The staff was friendly and very helpful but they leave at 4pm and you can't check in till 3pm. I guess there's good and bad like with all places.
Awesome spot for families and multiple night stays. Family environment comes with more noise but as long as you are expecting it you won’t be disappointed.
I recently stayed for 3 nights with my popup in site#10. The site is a good size for a tent or small camper only. Overall we were surprised by the campground based on other reviews . In my opinion The sites are close together, poorly maintained, and most are very small. The Trading Post is nicely stocked, and open all day. The bathrooms near my site were the best part…it was modern, clean and the showers were hot with good pressure. But other than the bathrooms everything felt like it hadn’t been maintained at all. Won’t be coming back.
Sky's the sinery all just gerogous
I took my horses and grandson to camp in the equestrian campsite. The bathrooms are very clean with AC. There a beautiful creek you can ride your horses in or just play if you want.
We took the grandkids to the Bostic, NC Jellystone in mid-July. They had a fabulous time. The RV site we had was #408. It was perfectly level and roomy with trees behind us. The bathrooms/showers are modern and spotless. We could only get a two night reservation, but that was enough. The kids (10 and 11) played so hard they were exhausted. It's a huge park with a system of golf cart trails that connect everything. The kids thought that was as exciting as the water park and the swimming pond. After having been there - I'd say a golf cart rental is a requirement. Despite the nearly 100 degree temps, the staff and other campers were cheerful and friendly. The kids made several friends. We didn't have time to do the crafts, but they looked fun. They loved the rollercoaster and minigolf. It's a good idea to bring your own food, as the options there aren't well-rated and expensive, but the ice cream was great. The only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer.
FHU, picnic table and fire ring, gravel sites, firewood available, for purchase, all with amazing views! Bathhouse being built now, but. Shower & stall usable. Used our Starlink, but did get 1 bar with reception, on T-Mobile. Owners very friendly and responsive with any questions. Must use the directions, on their website, to get to the campground, as GPS is incorrect.
Nice little campsite. The host is very communicative. Nice open field with great nestled area for campfires.
I lived here for two years on a long term spot. If short term you will be In a small gravel lot. There are no amenities, no shower houses. No frills.
Campground is guarded by two gates and I saw the police patrol around a few times after hours. The spots are very close to each other but that didn’t bother me. I chose spot D16 which is the only camping spot with a bit of an uphill ramp from the car to the camp spot. The rest lie flat. Didn’t help that I have a tent that attaches to my car so it made that difficult.
I love this place, with nice wide sites and many with views of three ponds nestled in the woods. The place was squeaky clean and the bathhouse very well designed. There are fun and funky places to visit nearby. The spring wildflowers are starting to bloom and I remember the scent of honeysuckle everywhere. A great blue heron hangs out at the fishing ponds.
This is one of our favorite spots! We can boat, fish, ride our golf cart, hang out by the fire and just enjoy the moment. It also has wonderful handicap accommodations. Hands down one of our favorites!
This is our favorite getaway from Charlotte, NC. Level lots, nice pool, enclosed dog lot, clean bathhouse, clean laundry room & activities. As of April 2024 they have added a nice playground. Lisa is the best host.
This location has 2 RV lots. Riverside is heavily wooded which provides a ton of shade on the hot summer days. Taylor Creek is newer with less trees providing lots of open space and great for Solar regeneration. Both sites are very clean and well maintained. Just a short walk to the lake.
Tried to camp here, but it’s closed for the next year.
Our favorite for weekend getaway. Clean and well kept. Owners are fantastic. They have upgraded playground. Dog park is so nice to have on site.
Foothills was great clean grounds friendly guest great views pleasant atmosphere and privacy when needed I defiantly will be back thanks everyone and staff.
Larger camp ground than expected. Enjoyed our stay.
Excellent management. Clean park.
Took my gf here to one of the walk-in sites for her first time camping. I love that it's so close to the city but still so beautiful! It did feel like everyone was very close together, but otherwise the facilities were great.
The owners and host are amazing at what they do! They’ve planned so much for this campground that our kids have had 5 days of things to do each day. We’ll definitely return and mark this as a favorite campground.
We stayed for a month in January. Lisa was wonderful and very accommodating to us. Our site was very level and tucked back in the corner of the campground. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay here again.
