Willow Tree RV Resort and River Island Adventures house some of the most sought-after glamping accommodations within driving distance of Little River. At Willow Tree, premium glamping options provide spacious lakeside sites with concrete pads, private picnic areas, and full hookups for climate control and modern comforts. "We loved the campground. Really nice place with a store, beach area, place to ride your bike and trails. A lot to do and not a long drive to Cherry Grove or Myrtle Beach," shared one satisfied visitor. River Island Adventures offers a more rustic glamping experience with six well-appointed sites featuring comfortable bedding, picnic tables, and access to hot outdoor showers. Both locations maintain clean facilities with River Island providing port-a-johns near glamping sites and regular bathrooms at their outpost, while Willow Tree boasts individual full bathrooms with showers in their bath house facilities.

One reviewer highlighted, "This place is so unique. They offer kayaking, paddleboarding, tubing, camping, glamping, night paddles with 6 different kinds of smores!! And the super cool Escape River Island which is 10 challenges like survivor or amazing race or escape room or something." The eco-friendly glamping pods at Cypress Ranch Glamping, located approximately 20 miles from Little River, provide a quieter alternative with fire pits and picnic tables in a natural setting. Seasonal events at Willow Tree include Halloween celebrations with haunted hayrides through the forest, arts and crafts gatherings, and trick-or-treating events. Most glamping sites in the region operate year-round with peak season falling between May and September when water activities and beach access become primary attractions.

Little Pee Dee State Park Campground

      BEDBUG INFESTED CABIN

***BEDBUGS BEDBUGS BEDBUGS!!!! Went to bed at 10:30pm, woke up with my arms and shoulders burning from being bit an hour later. We checked the mattress when we arrived at 8:00 and didn’t see anything. They are CLIMBING OUT OF THE WALLS. We called and spoke to the park ranger on site after leaving 2 voicemails already with no call back, she acted and responded with no concern or with no intent to have the problem corrected before the next family comes in to stay. As far as bringing your camper, little pee Dee is amazing. We rented the cabin on site for 9/18/26-9/20/26. We brought our own linens, brand new in the package. Completely useless now. With all of our clothing and towels also.

      Myrtle Beach KOA

      Hidden gem

Super cheap hidden gem for tent campers in Myrtle beach area! The pool is amazing. Campground is huge, no neighbors but still friendly faces around. Staff is very helpful and welcome. Quick 5 minute walk to the beach. They also rent golf carts for getting around town!

      Carolina Beach State Park Campground

      Nice, large, private campsites

We stayed in early August. Hot, humid, and raining. The sites are large and well kept. Bathrooms and shower houses are available and are clean and well maintained. Dumpster and recycle containers available on exit. Overall very nice!

      Myrtle Beach KOA

      Disappointed

We stayed 5 nights in a two room camping cabin with our two dachshunds. This campground has been around for a long time and it shows. They do an excellent job at keeping the campground neat and clean, but some of the little things are falling apart and they haven’t made any updates in a while. This koa offers a free service - a shuttle down to the beach. At the time we visited there, the city was dredging the beach and had the public access that the koa drops people off at blocked off. Instead of dropping off at the access that was open, they took you to the one that was blocked off and made you walk to the next public access which was several blocks away. We were disappointed in this since we’re older. Myrtle Beach koa has been a favorite campground of ours and we’ve stayed there many times, but each time we go, we feel like there’s no attention to detail and things are starting to get run down.

      Huntington Beach State Park Campground

      Beautiful state campground

The most beautiful and well maintained state campground I have ever been at. Suspicious sites, ocean, nature...

      Carolina Beach State Park Campground

      Large, private sites

We quasi-boondocked our camper, stayed at a tent site. Nice, quiet campground. Lots to do in the area; could easily stay longer than the three nights we reserved.

Bath houses were clean, but need more hooks for clothes, towels, etc.

At dump station, the hose for cleaning the black tank leaked.

      Carolina Beach State Park Campground

      Carolina Beach Tent Camping

This has always been my favorite place to tent camp when I get a chance to stay here as it can get very busy in the spring and summer months. I stayed in February and there was only a few other near my site. I enjoy the convenience of the nearby grocery stores and beaches. But if you’re not back before they close the gate at 7pm you won’t be able to get back to your site until the next day. So be mindful of the time. It’s for the your and the other campers safety. But you can park at your site and walk or bike in and out on the side of the road.

      Holden Beach RV Campground

      Would stay again

We spent 2 months at HBRV campground in spring of 2026. The staff is amazing. Our campsite was a little tight, as many of them are. But they also have some spacious, private spaces. There are only 2 washing machines for the whole campground, so laundry can get tricky on busy days. Several showers (5) including a handicapped shower. Nice clean, hot, high pressure showers. Not much climate control in the bath houses, so it can be hot or cold, depending on outside temps. Great walking trail around the park, as well as a small dog park. Grounds are well maintained & is located about 2 miles from the beach with a free shuttle back & forth. They do charge $3 per package for any deliveries. Very quiet, friendly park & we would recommend staying there.

    What to do

Water adventures: paddling and tubing: At River Island Adventures, kayaking and paddleboarding are standout activities. "This is a water adventure company that also has camping on the property. Beach access: direct ocean proximity: Pirateland Family Camping Resort provides immediate beach entry. "Sites are well maintained, with only a few having sewer hook ups. Awesome state park," explains a camper who visited in May 2025. Many glamping sites allow direct beach access without driving.

Nature trails and wildlife viewing: Huntington Beach State Park offers birding opportunities alongside camping. A reviewer highlights, "Do not miss saying hi to the wildlife on your way in. The egrets, herons, and gators are a beautiful sight heading to the camp sites and beaches. Great photo opportunities at Atalaya."

    What you should know

Seasonal availability: weather considerations: Most glamping sites operate year-round, but facilities may change seasonally. At Ocean Lakes Family Campground, weather can affect site conditions. Full hook ups pleasant atmosphere nice little community area with cornhole boards and swing sets lots of take out and delivery options if ya don't feel like cooking and good WiFi," reports a visitor at Holden Beach RV Campground.

Bathroom availability: shower facilities: Even glamping sites require shared facilities. "The bathhouse and laundry were sufficient. They had a nice pool, playground, volley ball court and horseshoe pits. They have a large dog park," explains a Labor Day weekend visitor at CarrollWoods RV Park.

"We were able to walk safely to the beach in 15-20 minutes while the rest of our party stayed at the RV," explains a visitor at Myrtle Beach KOA, indicating the feasibility of reaching the shore without driving.

Pet areas: dog-friendly options: Many glamping locations near Little River welcome pets with dedicated spaces. "There was an area to walk the dogs.
