It's near enough to Toccoa for the restaurants and shops and the museum but it's far enough off the track so that there's no traffic noise or other annoyances," notes Charlie B.
Water recreation on Lake Hartwell: The 56,000-acre reservoir offers swimming, fishing, and boating opportunities. A camper at The Point at Lake Hartwell shares, "We had our boat, they offer a decent area for boat parking & the boat ramp/dock to access beautiful Lake Hartwell was ok!"
Exploring waterfalls: The region contains numerous waterfalls within short driving distances. "Staying here you will be super close to some amazing hiking and also the many activities on the Cullasaja river. You can easily go out for the night in Franklin and explore the rest of the beautiful area," reports Asher K. who stayed at Riverbend RV Park.

Creek-side campsites: Several campgrounds offer sites with stream access. "We found this place when our other place to stay fell through and we Googled 'campgrounds near me'. We were lucky enough to get a spot overlooking a creek on the property. We had a little deck that was perfect to back our toy hauler up to and open the back," shares Addie about Currahee RV Park.
Pool access during hot months: Swimming pools provide relief during summer heat. Maria S. notes about River Vista RV Park, "Grounds are very well maintained, the office staff is very professional, and quiet hours are respected. Great central location and wonderful for day trips."

Site levelness issues: Some campgrounds have challenges with uneven pads. "Our site- A5- was super unlevel. I felt unsafe with our fifth wheel's two left tires up in the air after auto-leveling.
