      Beautiful and Quiet

I love this place, with nice wide sites and many with views of three ponds nestled in the woods. The place was squeaky clean and the bathhouse very well designed. There are fun and funky places to visit nearby. The spring wildflowers are starting to bloom and I remember the scent of honeysuckle everywhere. A great blue heron hangs out at the fishing ponds.

      Beautiful Trailside Site

I did a quick overnight here, as is custom when I travel for work, and it was spectacular. I stayed at Trailside Camp Site #2, which is one of their remote, primitive sites at the North Lake and all I can say is wow. The views were spectacular, and watching the full moon come up over the mountain was something I will never forget.

The site itself was spartan, as is expected in a primitive site but it did have a fire ring and a picnic table. Site 2 is right on the lake, with plenty of dead wood to get a fire going. The hike in is about 2ish miles of moderately difficult trails, with some amazing views along the way, including a walk across the North Lake dam. The hike was well worth it though.

      Nice free spot

We enjoyed this free trailhead parking. No bathroom, and the train only woke us up once in the night. Only one other van there with us, so very quiet and peaceful. Lovely walk on the Palmetto trail in the morning. There are also “walk-in” campsites right behind the trailhead signs in the trees.

Very Friendly and Cozy Campground with Plenty to enjoy

The owners and host are amazing at what they do! They’ve planned so much for this campground that our kids have had 5 days of things to do each day. We’ll definitely return and mark this as a favorite campground.

      Nice park, nice people

This is a well-maintained park with very friendly staff and guests. Spacious dog park, fresh gravel in the spots, fire pit area with string lights. We had a change of plans the morning of checkout, and they let us check out a little late since the park wasn’t fully booked, which was so helpful and kind of them. The park is centrally located near downtown Greer (very cute with lots of shops and restaurants) and a short drive from Greenville and Travelers Rest. We will definitely be back while passing through this area next time!

      Scenic campground close to greenvillesce

Scenic campground, quiet, nice people. Free firewood was nice with a donation. Though $38 a night and more than the other state parks surrounding south Carolina such as NC, AL, GA, MS. Bathroom was clean and showers were nice. Level campspots!

      Tent site 24

Nice relaxing camping spot. The tent pad on site 24 was kinda small but all the others looked plenty large enough. Was not expecting the campground to be sold out this time of year so I would definitely recommend reserving a spot far in advance. The price was a little expensive but there’s a lot to do in the state park.

      Amazing site, minus the train

This site is awesome. The scenery is beautiful and it is super easy to access. You can hear coyotes howling at night.

The only problem is the train. It woke us up at least 4 times last night. You can see the train from your campsite.

Everything else was perfect for us though!

Beautiful place! Unfortunately no space for us to drive our bus to a camp spot but plenty of room in parking lot. Just a nice little spot to stop before hitting the road again.

Ok for overnight stop but wouldn't be a travel destination. Most sites seem to be long term or permanent sites. Very close to neighbor site, with fire pit being extremely close. Water, Sewer, Power, WiFi

      Favorite State Park in SC

While this is a smaller park, it has a ton to offer. Rv and primitive sites, bathrooms with hot showers, playground for the kiddos, a lake with rental kayaks and paddleboats, and the camp host was super friendly. Easily my favorite state park in SC so far.

Good state park with below average camping

Park is very large and some of the wooded areas have been meticulously cleaned. Lake access from campsite is steep with views significantly affected by trees. Bathhouse is clean and well maintained. Staff is professional and courteous. Site #37 felt significantly sloped to me for our setup.

Nice quiet site close to town

Site and hosts were nice. It was easily accessible(made it in a lowered mustang). The site was pretty clean and had firewood cut and ready to go for is.

Not far from the roadway so not quiet and isolated if that’s what you were looking for. We weren’t and the quick in and out was perfect.

      Honest review

This review is neither negative or positive. Just how it is, so you know before you go. The park is clean and nearly every camp spot is shaded. All roads and camp spots are paved and have fire pits. Some have water and power (30 and 50 amp), some have sewer. There are a few ADA compliant. Restroom/bath houses are never far off, and we're clean, with 2 shower stalls each. Almost every camper there had big pull behinds, so they have their own showers, leaving the bath houses mostly private. Lots of families with children. A site without sewer cost us $46. It felt like a safe park to camp in.

The campground itself is decent the help not so much

All I can say is don’t let the whore that takes the rent when the owner isn’t there anywhere near your old man ! She doesn’t care that y’all are together and is a homewrecker ! This trash helped ruin a 10 year relationship. Can’t believe the owner lets something like that be part of operations! Yes I am aware it takes two but as a woman knowing we were together she should have respected that.

Quiet park with great hiking nearby

Very welcoming when we got to the park, and good directions to get to our site. As others have said, the road is quite twisty, but we did not have any problems pulling our 34 ft travel trailer. Our site, number 36, was level, but a few of the sites appeared to be not so much. Quiet while we were here, and great hiking nearby. We will come again
