    Blue Ridge Falls RV Resort

    Quiet and beautiful

We loved this RV park so much, we kept adding nights. The owners are great - super helpful. Under new ownership and the name is now Blue Ridge Falls RV Resort. Plenty of space between sites so it felt private, and all campers were respectful. Every day, at 5pm, the happy hour bell rings and it’s a great chance to meet people and learn tips on the area. Showers were clean and laundry was easy. There was never a line for any of it. This is our favorite site on our trip across the country so far! Thank you!

    New owners!

New owners and they are changing the name to Blue Ridge Falls RV Resort. Beautiful park, lots of mature landscaping and large private, level sites. Gatherings by the pavilion every night at 5. Great community feel. Lots to do in the area. State park is only a few minutes drive away as well as Panthertown for hiking and biking. The area is known for having over 250 waterfalls. Highly recommend a visit.

    Best Thousand Trails park

Hands down, the best Thousand Trails campgrounds I’ve been to. I have visited several since we got the membership and I had been hugely disappointed...until now.

It has such a family feel and beautiful grounds, beautiful lake, and easy hook up camp sites. I had no trouble getting into our spot. We visited over the 4th of July weekend and they had all sorts of activities going on. Bingo, parade, fireworks, hotdogs and more!

    Gorges State Park Campground

    Pristine, quiet, and waterfalls

Great experience at end of May, 2023. The park has had primitive camping for years, but this year is the first season with an area for RVs/trailers and a separate area tent campers. All sites are level with concrete pads, except for the tent site. Fire pit is on bricks. Bathhouse is immaculate. The park has a great visitors center, lots of trails for hiking and seeing waterfalls, campground is pristine, and non-tent sites have full hookups. The park covers 7,000+ acres and hosts the start of the trail into Pisgah National Forest to the famous Rainbow Falls. We have a 17' Casita and stayed in a site with full hookups. Activities in the surrounding area include lots of waterfalls, hiking, mountain biking, golf, shopping and dining in the Highlands, and some great restaurants.

    Thousand Trails Carolina Landing

    Decent travel stop, nice amenities

So, we are here for 3 weeks. We are under a WiFi pole and have good signal and usable internet. It was actually worth paying for. There is a boat launch but, it is hard to get to and down a large, steep incline. I wouldn't bring anything sizable down that hill, no real marina.
It is a functional park and what I have come to expect from a Thousand Trails park. The lower section of the park is tight and can be difficult to get into a site, roads are very narrow. The laundromat was nice, facilities are numerous though I can't say exceptional. We will use this place as a stopping point for a night or so but can't say I would stay here for a few weeks again unless we need to be in the area.

    Clean, quiet and quaint

Stayed here for 5 days visiting family in the area and it was nice. There is no office or showers or anything like that. Spots are fairly close but the people all seemed friendly.

There seemed to be quite a few long term campers but the place was clean.

The grass is very nice instead of dirt or gravel pad next to you.

No picnic tables and the WiFi was just useable. I had 2-3 bars of AT&T LTE Wireless signal.

    Travelers Rest-North Greenville KOA

This KOA is small but if Peaceful and Offers Much

This does not seem to be the typical KOA, and it is small compared to my recent visits to some other KOAs. However, it was very quiet with lots of shade, but tents are not allowed. There are cabins, and the remaining sites have RV hookups. There are several things I loved about this campground. There is a small creek running beside the campground, and I believe most of the sites run along the creek. It is a very clean campground with a family like atmosphere. I met the front desk clerk, Julie, who was very helpful, and I also met one of the owners, who was very friendly. What is really unique about this KOA is that there is a nature trail through the woods. That is something I don’t recall seeing at any other KOA, and it was a pleasant surprise. I wish my grandson had been with us. He would have loved the fire truck playground and the Johnson Creek Mining Company water tower and trough. The recreation area had a ping pong table, a swimming pool, and cornhole boards, among other things. The showers/bathrooms were attached to the main office, and I really liked how the showers had a flexible hose. For safety and privacy, it was the type that can be locked so you don’t have to worry about strangers being in the bath facility with you. Overall, I recommend this campground highly. The only negative I have is that there are no tent sites.

    So much fun!!

This place is pretty awesome. Its been around so long my husband came here as a child. This place has multiple types of sites, full hook up (including sewer), partial hook up, as well as cabins and permanent RVs to rent. There are multiple bathrooms, and dump sites, access to the river, and a craft cabin where they have really fun crafts such as tie dye and wreath making. In the morning, a beautiful fog sits over the trees and gives a mystic appearance. We had a lot of fun. A lot of people who go hear have kids and they run free. My son made so many friends.

    Cunningham RV Park

    Would not stay again

This campground is very close to I-26 and I-81 which makes for an easy in and out for an overnight stay. We stopped for one night after a long day of driving and wanted a full hook-up pull-thru which was long enough for our 45’ RV and tow car. The roads inside the park were easy to navigate and pull into our site and nearby are fuel stations and fast food restaurants.

Most of the campers in the park were permanent residents and their campsites were pretty junky. Just to create an image in your head, our neighbors had lots of kid’s toys, trash bags, appliances, and laundry scattered about their site while others had old cars, dilapidated sheds, car tires, and tarps stretched across their campers. Other than a swimming pool and decent playground, there really aren’t too many amenities or reasons that you might want to stay here, other than for an overnight. The bathroom and showers were clean and there is a nice laundry. Roads in the campground and at sites are gravel with grass/gravel patios and picnic table. Not all sites have fire pits. Our site (#102) did not have a fire pit but there was an indentation under the leaves where it looked like there was a fire pit and there were a bunch of rocks piled up against a tree that could be used to create one without anyone objecting. All sites are full hook-up, some being 30-amp and others 50. Most sites are pull-thrus and level. Our over-the-antenna picked up about 40 television channels, including all the major stations. Our Verizon phone picked up a 5G signal.

There were signs everywhere about not letting your dog off-leash so I’m assuming there was a problem in the past. While we were there, we never encountered any unruly dogs or any off-leash. There are lots of large trees for shade which are not a problem for pulling into or out of a site but may be a problem if you are trying to get satellite television. The sewer outlet at our site was placed in the back of our site and I needed a hose about 35’ long to reach it.  Some of the back-in sites are pretty close but it appeared they were for seasonal/permanent campers.

The electrical hookup was a little sketchy. It appears they updated an old electrical box with a new 50-amp outlet and taped the other one shut so you could not open it. There was no breaker on the new outlet you could access. Despite the way it looked, we never had a problem with the electric.  Our sewer was a different issue.  The sewer drain needed to be cleaned out because when I opened the grey valve it did not drain properly and began to overflow.  I had to shut the valve, wait for the water to go down, and reduce the flow which took about fifteen minutes to drian 25 gallons of grey water.

At $45 for a full hook-up site, we would not stay here again.

    Springwood RV Park

    Planes, trains, automobiles and RVs

Precious! I’ve never stayed in an RV park next to a small airport with a train track running through the middle of the park! Our pull through site was located under an old oak tree, conveniently next to the laundromat.

Fell asleep to the soothing sounds of a locomotive horn punctuated by the plinks of acorns bouncing off the roof. Awakened at 5:30 AM by sirens tuned to major thirds followed a little later by the thumping sounds of helicopter blades. What a symphony of delightful sounds! Thankfully, I wear hearing aids I can remove at night. Unfortunately, my wife was not so lucky.

The park did have full hookups, wifi, and while it did not have cable it had excellent reception from a number of local stations. I give it to two stars - one star for infrastructure and a second star for novelty. Zero stars for ambiance.

    Most lots are unlevel

We really have enjoyed SC state parks but will never come back to this one. We had to move spaces because it was so ridiculously unlevel (other campers shared same experience). The only one we could get literally faced the street and had zero privacy. There is a full hook up area (rare in a state park), but literally you are on top of your neighbor. Some people do love this as we met lots of repeat visitors. This park was NOT for us as we prefer something more open, spacious and level. The hiking trails were not super well marked which was also annoying.

Having lived in South Carolina most my life, I haven't seen it all.. but have seen a lot of it. Mile Creek Campground is a string of 3 islands connect by narrow straights and surrounded by water. It's hard to get a spot here without great views of Lake Keowee and the Blueridge Mountains.

The spaces a are a mix of full concrete pads or gravel sites. We've stayed in several sites and while some are very close together (that RV park feeling), there are many which have lots of breathing room, and things feel more natural. The pics in this review are for site 51, which is on the "3rd island," which is the furthest out and offers the best views. This is a very level concrete spot and we only had to use the electric tongue jack on our trailer to level front to back. Got set up in under 5 minutes.

There is one oddity to some of the concrete sites. Because it's concrete, your fire pit is off to the side. And since most of the sites are raised, your fire pit may be level with the concrete pad, but you can't sit next to it as there is too much slope.

It's a county park and is well maintained. Bath houses are clean. With it having a public day use area with a nice boat dock, you can expect almost every morning @ 6am to hear the diehard fishing folks blasting out of the boat launch area.

We have Verizon and our cell signal has always been 4 to 5 bars on the outside third island.

All sites have 30amp electric and water hookups. Dump station at the front of campground entrance up on a hill. BE AWARE, pulling into the dump station is easy, but the steeper exit will have longer RV's and Trailers dragging their bag end on the asphalt.

We've always felt safe and relaxed here. And though we prefer more dispersed camping with less neighbors, this is still one of the best and most affordable ($25 in off season) places in South Carolina to camp.

We rarely give 5-stars, but due to the awesome views,  trees between the sites and being well wooded & surrounded by water... it really is a very nice place.

From what I can tell, all but two sites are back in. We had no problem backing in our 23'8" (total length) camper in.

    Thousand Trails Carolina Landing

Average Park, Very Tight Fit for BIg Rigs

I can't give Carolina Landing five stars because the sites are so close together. Also, our site- A5- was super unlevel. I felt unsafe with our fifth wheel's two left tires up in the air after auto-leveling. That was a first for us, and hope we never have to do that again. The hill getting up to our site was steep. This place is full of big rigs, however, it is not conducive to them. Every turn is tight. The dog in the camper next to us was allowed to bark nonstop when it came outside. The park staff even texted us after arrival to see how things were going, and also again mid-way through our stay. I mentioned the dog. Nothing happened. The neighbors did manage to hear the dog after about ten minutes each time, and they did put it up, but gosh. That's a lot of unnecessary barking. Currently, the pool is green, but I expect that will change soon. The mini-golf needs some love, but it's in pretty good condition considering some that we've seen other places. The clubhouse, office, bath houses, and laundry are nice and clean. The staff is friendly. The tall tall trees are beautiful. We didn't meet any of our neighbors as almost no one comes out of their campers. The weather was very nice at least 3 of the 8 days we were there. We never saw anyone sitting out around a fire, cooking out, or just hanging out. We saw a few people playing basketball a couple of times, and lots of kids rode their bikes occasionally. We saw a lot of big rigs struggling to get up the hills to park in the A section. If you have a big rig, park somewhere else besides the A section if at all possible.(We paid$0 because this was part of our Thousand Trails membership.)

    Springwood RV Park

    Great for an overnight stay

Springwood RV Park was great for our overnight stay. Our pull-thru site was right next to the office and was very level. Our site had a picnic table. We had no issues with the water/electric/sewer. Our rate was$48.
