Nice local park

Duman lake review notes.

  • Well-maintained small park, stocked lake, popular with local fisherman. Kayaking/small boat fishing. I’ve seen bald eagle and osprey.
  • Six campsites, w/mature trees, level, w/paved drive & gravel area, large enough for mid-sized RVs. They state 40 ft., but all are…

Fun camp spot of the Gap trail

Free bike-in camp site with water access along the Youghiogheny River. Access from the Allegheny Gap trail. There were a few shelters, nice campsite. It’s close to an old cemetery which is useful in telling ghosts stories around the campfire

Quiet and well maintained

Spent one night here midweek in late May. Most campsites were unoccupied, so very quiet. Site 172 is right along a babbling brook. Showers were hot and free. Everything was very well maintained. The nearby small lake has a large sandy beach and beautiful views. Would have been nice for paddling…

Helpful friendly staff

We are traveling across country. This campground is easy access to I80, Less than 10 minutes. It is very clean, amazingly helpful staff, mix of seasonal, weekly, and overnight. Nice playground for the kids. Close to Clarion for shopping and supplies,

Beautiful lake area

Many events in this area throughout the year. The camping area is nice and clean of clutter. Camp store has a decent amount of items to buy from if in need of small items for camping.

Halloween party

I went here for the first time with 3 other family members for the last camping outing of the year. We went during their trick or treat weekend, it was very entertaining and enjoyable. Almost every campsite was decorated for Halloween and there was plenty of Trick or treaters. If you are into…

Plenty of activities and located right on the Youghiogheny River

We stayed here in October after the pools were closed for the year but they had plenty of great activities including crafts for the kids and trick or treating which was a blast.  We would have preferred to be right on the riverfront sites but they had been booked up most of the year so it was still…

Nice Campground

We rented space 16 late August 2020 and our friends (and their kids) rented #17 on the inner circle, right next to us with the playground right behind us. Great spots! Our kids were within easy eye and earshot of the playground. We had 30A electric and fresh water (no sewer). Our picnic table…

Prince Gallitzin SP

A huge park and packed to the brim with campers. Even on a Sunday evening. Parkee told me that normal summer get about 90 to 95% capacity, but with Covid they are surpassing that even during the week. Lucky to get a spot.

Fairly level, shaded sites, ours with electricity. ATT & Verizon signal…

Great campground for kids

Lots for the kids to do. Good sized fishing lake, swimming pool, inflatable slide, playgrounds, jumping pillow. Lots of seasonals here, so lots of golf carts running around. The sites that our friends and I were in I wasn't real happy with. Stepped gravel sites. No grass at all, kinda tight. Oh and…

Easy going, relaxed camp

We had a really nice camping experience here. Tent camping at an electrical site. We were on the outside edge of the pet loop so there was some nice shade there. Everyone was friendly. And what a lovely state park. The beaches were great. We went canoeing on the lake. And had fun just hiking around…

Quiet & Relaxing

We have camped at the que family rec for several years. We always loved and enjoyed our stay there. Ken and his staff do a wonderful job with the park and great customer service also. No Camping

"Camping is prohibited in the park." (That is directly off the DCNR website.)

I am not reviewing Moraine State Park (which is awesome). I am reviewing the CAMPING options at Moraine State Park. Which brings me back to the DNCR website. It says "No Camping" and "Camping is prohibited in the…

A Pretty Typical Pennsylvania State Park Campground

The pet loop mixes tent camping with RVs, which isn't our preference. The sites are arranged around a big field, which means many of them have no trees or shade. If you planned to hang a hammock at some of these sites, you would be in trouble.

But it's a good park. They've got firewood at the…
