Yellow Creek Campground — Yellow Creek State Park

Within Yellow Creek State Park, this Bureau of State Parks campground operates from mid-April through mid-October along the shoreline of Yellow Creek Lake. The 105 sites include full hookups for RVs, with electric, water, and sewer connections available at rates of $44-$49 per night.

Campers consistently note the proximity to water activities, with direct lake access for fishing, swimming, and boating. The park maintains boat rentals, including pontoon boats for lake exploration. Laura found the lakefront location offered "private access to the lake" with clean facilities. Multiple reviewers mention the maintained restrooms and hot showers throughout the campground.

The park features hiking and biking trails that wind through wooded areas surrounding the lake. Fishing opportunities exist both from shore and by boat, though Noah R. notes "the fishing isn't the best at yellow creek." A designated swimming area provides lake access, though one visitor described it as small and sometimes less than pristine during busy periods.

Campers exploring the region can find places to camp near Penn Run for additional options. The campground allows pets and campfires, with firewood available for purchase at the park office. Reservations are accepted for this drive-in accessible facility.

Nice campground

So this is a nice weekend lace to camp. Clean bathrooms and hot showers but if you like to pay a different price each time you get there, then have fun. I had 3 different prices when I went there last. Was going to make this a home camp but since they played the different price game I will look elsewhere!

Beautiful. Great for families staying together.

We stayed in 3 of the cabins for 4 days at Yellow Creek State Park (not the campground). It was beautiful. Right on the water, clean, and private access to the lake. Dog friendly cabins were available. We cannot wait to come back.

Beautiful

Very clean and helpful camp. Too bad the fishing isn’t the best at yellow creek national park.

Cheap getaway close to home

We stayed in one of the yurts, and I was perfect for the group of 6 I went with. It dumped rain the first night we were there and the yurt kept us perfectly comfortable and dry. There is fishing, boating, hiking, and all sorts of activities to do around the park. We rented a pontoon boat for one afternoon and explored the lake, which was awesome. I will say the "beach area" we visited was less than clean and quite small. However, the trip was a blast overall and if you're looking for a quick weekend trip, this is a place to go.

Private Island in April

The private island is a beautiful campsite and has enough room for several tents. There's plenty of trees on the island so there are plenty of sticks to find for fires, and even if you want logs you can buy some at the office and they'll dump a truckload of wood that can last you the whole weekend. The creek surrounding the island does make it cold at night so make sure to pack warmly.
