Central Oregon is where the east face of the Cascade Range meets the high desert, among a landscape of towering volcanoes, sprawling forests, and vast lava fields. The area is considered an outdoor recreation mecca for its year-round opportunities to stay and play. A good place to begin is the High Desert Museum, which provides information and interpretive displays about the diverse landscape and wildlife found in the area. Nearby attractions include the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Lava River Cave, and Paulina Lake. Central to the area is the town of Bend, which has become notable for its assortment of craft breweries, as well as its flavorful bistros, art galleries, and local arts and crafts shops. A popular summer activity is floating down the Deschutes River, which flows right through the middle of town. The Bend–Sunriver RV Campground is situated alongside the Little Deschutes River, and located approximately 20 miles south of Bend. Visitors have access to more than 300 shady, wooded RV and tent campsites, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings; many sites are ADA accessible. Back-in RV sites can accommodate vehicles/trailers up to 40 feet. A limited number of sites have electrical hookups, and a dump station is available onsite. The resort also features a selection of cottages, cabins and yurts. Campground amenities include water faucets, restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, Wifi service, a small store and a restaurant. Pets are welcome, and the resort features a dog park. Campsites are $34–$57/night; other accommodations are $84–$169/night; reservations available. There’s plenty to inside the campground as there is outside. Onsite activities include picnic areas, a kids’ playground, game room, sports courts, mini golf, disc golf, and hiking and biking trails. There’s also a large, outdoor pool, spa, and hot tub. Fishing for salmon, whitefish, and rainbow trout can be enjoyed on the river nearby. Outside of the campground, the activity options are practically endless. Summer offers access to 100s of miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails in the Deschutes National Forest and Three Sisters Wilderness. There’s also rock climbing at Smith Rock State Park, sunning, swimming, floating, paddling, rafting and fishing on the Deschutes and Metolius Rivers, and bird and wildlife watching in several locations. Winter offers skiing and snowboarding on Mount Bachelor, in addition to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and more on local trails.

    Crook County RV Park

    Very comfortable

The campground was very nice. Stayed for one night in a full hook up site for $45. All of the lots were paved and kind of level. It was quiet for such a full area with some long term campers and a few families staying and very friendly. There is a full restroom with showers that were open! Very clean

Across the street is a family park with a children’s fishing pond that is stocked with rainbow trout for anyone 17 and under. Will definitely come back here again

    Crappy in many ways

This is what Thousand Trails has become. Lots of permanent residence with junkie sites. Trash in the fire pit. Run down facilities. Lots of dust. At least this campground Has a little more space between sites compared to other Thousand Trails. The other good thing is that you are fairly close to Sunriver and about 20-30 minutes to Bend. We wouldn’t stay here again, but hey, it was free since our dealer gave us the Thousand Trails Membership.

    Decent Thousand Trails

Busy campground but the sites at least have some trees around them. Great location. Like all Thousand Trails could be better if they would invest a little in upkeep. Decent cell signal (T-Mobile 5G). No brainer if you are a Thousand Trails member. Otherwise there may be other options in the area less resortish.

    LOVED it!

We had a wonderful stay! It was the first time we've stayed at a Thousand Trails resort and I must say, they have set the BAR! The scenery was incredible, the amenities were by far amazing, and the staff was more than kind. We took advantage of their electrical and water hookups for our RV, the onsite 24 hour laundry facilities, and the lodge with wifi access so I could attend to some of my freelance work. Other amenities included a swimming pool, mini golf course, tennis courts, horseshoe rings, and more! I would highly recommend this resort!

    My favorite

This is the largest Thousand Trails campground in the country. I love this place because you have so much room, the trees are everywhere, it feels like you’re camping in the forest but you have hook ups and amenities. The showers are great the access to the river is wonderful the people are amazing and as I said, it’s my favorite!

    Crown Villa RV Resort

Nice RV Park But Way Too Pricy For What You Get

First let us say that this is a very nice RV Park. However, and a BIG however, is that there is no justification for the $117 per night price tag for a paved, full hook up site. This park is now owned by Sun Outdoors and all they have done is spruce it up cosmetically and double the price per night. During our stay in September, the hot tub was not working and the laundry room was closed so essentially 2 of the reasons we came there for, were not available. The rub comes in when we asked about it, they basically blew us off and would not consider a rate reduction. This park is another example of corporate greed gone wrong. Great location. Nice sites. Totally not worth it. Stay 15 minutes south of town and save a ton.

    Quaint Garden

We were fortunate to stay at Bend Sisters Garden RV Resort in Sisters, Oregon. It was lovely and filled with lush greenery 🌿🌱🌲 and beautiful flowers 💐 🌸 🌺 🌹🌷🌼. The resort is meticulously clean. The bathrooms and showers were in a log cabin and hook ups were the nicest we’ve seen. 5 ⭐️ in our opinion.

    Pay More or Get Weeds

We felt very confident when we selected the bronze area in Crown Villa Bend RV Resort because we've stayed in Sun RV Resorts in California before and they were well maintained. Unfortunately, Crown Villa bronze category was extremely disappointing. Now if you paid extra for platinum or gold, the spaces were absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. However, the bronze and copper were ridiculously neglected. Never have I stayed in an RV "Resort" with foot high weeds. Site 705 (and the site across from it) also are literally at the end of the road with no turn around space to park. Luckily the vehicles were gone at the sites across and next to us or we wouldn't have been able to maneuver around our rig to park.

    Tumalo State Park Campground

    Closest to Bend

Nice campground overall and amenities that include showers for guest, outside sinks at shower house for tent camping etc, small but newish playground, many FULL hook up sites for RVs (30amp only)… Day parking across the road from campground is river front to the Deschuttes River (very shallow) and was great for wadding in during warm months. Closest campground to Bend without being IN Bend Close to neighbors for all sites and they are all always full it seems…very convenient campground though!

    Friendly welcome

I’m a long time Thousand Trails member and can recall when TT campgrounds were much better maintained. They are generally now under funded and under staffed but the staff here are doing the best with what they have and added to their burden is Covid. The roads and sites are gravel and generally level, not very private. The sites have water and electricity, the bathrooms are clean & showers have a good supply of hot water. The laundry is maintained and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

    Cascade Meadows RV Resort

    Clean, well-kept RV campground

Lovely campground that has dry camping, partial hook-ups, and full hook-ups for RVs. Hwy 97 is nearby but other than the road noise from that it is a quiet location. Bathrooms and laundry rooms are very clean. Has an off-leash area for dogs. And a dirt walking trail among a mixed sparse forest from campground on SE corner of the property. 🥾

I stayed here two weeks tomorrow and LOVED my stay. The sunsets and sunrises were fantastic! I’ll be back! SO much to do in the area! And not far to Bend when you need to re-supply.

Has both Verizon and T-mobile cell service.

    Fun spot for kids!

My kids are helping us out with reviews for parks. Kids loved Sunriver-Bend Thousand Trails because there is bunnies, bullfrogs, mini-golf, a great little river to float on or swim in, ladderball, bingo, movies outside, and some pretty great pools!

We will definitely be coming back here!

Bend Sunriver Thousand Trails Was Excellent

We stayed two nights, August 15 through August 17, 2019, in campsite I-9, the overnight cost was$0.00 due to our Thousand Trails membership( our site had electrical and water service). The site was level, only needed 2 inch lift to level left side.

The campground is at an elevation of 4150 ft. Access to the campground was right off S. Century Drive, about 3 miles from hwy 97. Our 28 ft travel trailer easily fit with room to spare in our site. Once we enter the campground, the pavement turns to hard packed gravel as we looped around once to find a campsite. Weather was sunny upper 80's, the nights low 40's. This is a very quite campground, there was no noise from main road entering the campground.

Activities we enjoyed at the campground to keep busy was frisbee golf, mini-golf, a nice swimming pool and restroom with showers within a few minutes of our site.

My wife and I enjoyed the campground, we will stay again next time we are in the area. We stayed two nights as we traveled toward Crater Lake, Oregon.

    Great Location and Amenities

Great location and the amenities were those of a full service RV resort. Bathrooms & showers, pet area, trash service, fire pit rings, and more. Big pull through spots. Right off the road so there was a bit of road boise but still overall great.

Cove Palisades - Crooked River campground

We stayed at the Crooked River campground in mid October. A few loops were closed as were all but 1 bathroom building. Really nice hot, free (non-metered) showers and nice bathrooms. As with most State Park campgrounds there isn't much privacy between the sites but the amenities are great. We stayed in a rv hookup site in a 40' coach with our tow vehicle.

    Good stopover spot

Very clean park. They were about half full when we were there and the noise level was very low. Not much of a long term spot, lots of movement in and out.

Showers and bathrooms were very clean and the sites we're very big. Lots of pull through spots. Good Verizon signal.

    Lovely and Fun

This lovely "RV Resort" feels a bit like Disneyland or an amusement park (in a good way) in that everything is meticulously maintained, beautiful and there's plenty to do. From the put-put golf course near the check-in, to the store and the lovely lake, this is a great place for kids as well as adults.

It's also located near a vast array of wonderful hikes, towns, and things to do in Central Oregon. So not only a fun place to stay, but also a great jumping-off place for other activities.

    Aging and dusty

I stayed here for 5 nights. It is a Thousand Trails campground. They offered to apply the cost of my stay toward a membership which was a good deal but I declined. The campground nicely wooded, seemed quiet, slight distant road noise. Bathrooms are basic, old, clean. Roads are gravel, dry as a bone and very dusty. Campsite was level without using any blocks. Electricity, 30 amp, was fine and water pressure good. They had a very nice pool and clubhouse area, apparently defunct and “under repairs” for ages with no signs of active work. Air quality was horrible due to wildfires such that I left before my reservation ended. The dump stations are very tight for space and located in odd areas such that I would have had to meander through the dust and squeeze into the space. Water supply was in the center between the two stations so not ideal. Admittedly, if not for the horrible air quality and fire ban I probably would have noticed the rough edges less.

    Skull Hollow CG

Nice, scenic campground nearby Smith Rock SP. Clean pit toilets, friendly camp host. Several sites with Juniper trees to shade you from the hot sun. Price is $10 for single/$20 double vehicle as of 08/2022. No RV hookups or running water here. Just outside of the campground along the FS Road are plenty of dispersed campsites, some with great views of the backside of Smith Rock and the surrounding area. Definitely will put this on my favorites list for future exploration and camping.

    Not Bad

I know this is an RV resort, but tent camping wasn’t like I expected. If you are tent camping you are relegated to the “tent area” which is ok, near the bathrooms so that’s a plus, but also just an open area you share with all other tent campers. They do have some ok amenities, like the pool and activities, so that may make up for the lack of privacy for some. Everything is fairly clean, and well kept up. All together not a bad spot, but I think next time we will find a campground more friendly to tent campers.

Well kept and popular RV park near Bend and Sisters

Very well kept and popular RV park in-between bend and sisters. Asphalt pads for RVs, a little close together to my liking, but excellent bathrooms, showers, playground, putt putt golf course and, in the back, there’s a very pretty lake.

There’s also cabins to rent. Reserve well in advance. Right next to the sisters rodeo and within view of the three sisters mountain. Tip: stop in Sisters (5 minutes away) for good ice cream at BJs Old Fashioned Ice Cream.

    Lava Lake Campground

Nice forestservice campground on paved road

It is a nice campground with reserved and 1st come come sites. The pit toilets are non smelly, a lodge across the road with some supplies and boat rentals. Lake is right next to campground. Has excellent trout fishing. You can kayak on big lava but little lava, about a mile away, is better . There are some camp sites at little lava and a rv park at the resort. We are still talking rustic sites just with hookups. Campground will hold big rigs (our new motorhome is 36ft). Nice trees sites and level parking. Opens some time when snow clears , usually in June.
