Best Cabin Camping near Marcola, OR

They have a hot tub, heated pool, lodge, rv hook ups, tent spaces, and rental cabins. Very nice.

Belknap is a special place. It straddles the beautiful McKenzie River and natural hot springs. The hot springs are pumped into two commercial sized in-ground pools which are perfect for soaking. This is our favorite thing about this place. Belknap is also close to great hiking and mountain biking - the McKenzie River trail goes right by and Blue Pool, and Koosah and Sahalie Falls are a short drive away.

Belknap is much more of a rustic resort than a campground, but it does offer walk-in camping. With cabins and many RV spots it definitely caters to these folks, but offers something for everyone. The grounds our well manicured and don’t forget to check out the secret garden by crossing the foot bridge by the lodge to meander into a wonderful garden area.

I don't have any pics - yet - but I remember both the cabins and tent sites being perfects. The cabins were the perfect size and not too pricey.  It's a popular place but you don't feel packed in.  The drive to Silver Falls is amazing - the best of Oregon farm country mixed with some signature forests.

If you want to camp in Oregon this is the place to go. There are several waterfalls and hiking trails. You can see wildlife and you can't beat the beauty. You can tent camp and they also have yurts.

Great, clean, easy to navigate campground. Very rural for only 25 minutes outside Salem. The ranger check in hours feel very limited (for the cabins at least) and the cabin beds are so creaky!

We stayed in a rustic cabin at this park and it was perfect. Two full beds and two small bunks make for an affordable spot for friends to gather. Book in advance because it fills up fast. The cabins are basic, but do have electricity. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The tent sites were pretty close to each other and there were a lot of kids. Walked to the waterfalls from the cabin in the early am, amazing!

Smith Creek Village is such a great place for easy lodging in nature. My family stayed in one of the tiny cabins. The cabin was very clean and well kept. The cabin was nearby a few other similar cabins, but everything felt very private. There was nice walking paths and a large grass area supplied with lawn games.

We decided to take the easy route this particular trip and ate all our meals at the Big Leaf Coffeehouse. The food there is fantastic and the building has a cozy lodge vibe.

Another thing that I loved about Smith Creek Village is that although the Silver Falls state park is always busy, Smith Creek Village is not. It feels like a hidden gem inside the state park. We definitely plan on coming back.

Great for any kind of camper or non-camper. Tents, RVs, cabins, the lodge, they have it all. Staff is friendly and the hot spring pools are wonderful. We have tent camped here and have rented a cabin and had a great experience both times.

Went with an ex many years ago. We stayed in one of the small cabins very close to the upper trail to the falls.I think... lol

The cabin was cozy and stayed very warm as we went in the winter. We only walked around a short ways but the snow was beautiful and it was serenely quiet.

The park is beautiful, I made sure to see all the falls (except of Winter Falls which wasn't running), and the hike was great. The park is pretty big so you do have to drive from your campsite to the trailhead, not quite hike-in.

We stayed in one of the cabins, which was quaint and nicely separated from the rest of the sites. The cabin has two small rooms, with a dining area and a sleeping area. There's no fancy appliances but we brought an electric cooler to keep our food cold, and the bathroom and parking was a short walk away. The site was outfitted with a fire pit with grill and picnic table.

On the first night we were awoken to rustling through our stuff in the other room and when I checked it out a mouse booked it out of there. Not a big deal but my fiance and I found it a little hard to sleep after that. Be sure to keep any food in your car rather than the cabin. Another night an army of raccoons made its way through our campsite, despite all our food being put away. On our way out we told the ranger about the mouse in the cabin and they didn't seem phased by it, I don't expect they did much to fix the hole (which we spotted the next day and tried to cover). Would have preferred just to stay in a tent and save a bit if the cabin is so obviously penetrable.

Have stayed in the cabins and tent sites here. Amazing waterfall trails and clean orderly campsites.

We really had a nice time at this spot. The campsite was the perfect size. There is a lodge, river front cabIns, RV spots, drive in Camp spots and hike in Camp spots. Friendly staff and teails leading to a secret garden.

One of the prettiest cleanest campgrounds I’ve stayed in. It had nice camping spots and great little cabins at an affordable price. Came in late one night and had a great spot still available. Had fun biking trails all around the forest. Not to mention the waterfalls hike.

What can I say? Silver Falls is a magical place and everyone should experience it.  You can just get lost in the beauty of it all.  The cabins are small but comfortable with heat, lights, and beds.  Covered porch is nice to sit and listen to the rain.

Rv sites with hook ups next to the beautiful McKenzie River. Hike in cabins available. Two pools with water from the hot springs....clean and relaxing. Hike to the secret garden and enjoy the fountain and scenery. Great place for couples/families. Pit stop on a bike ride over the McKenzie Pass.

This park is amazing! Glorious trails, waterfalls. Check out the little store down the road. They have live music Friday nights and beer and ice cream are great after a long hike. We stayed at the campground our first visit which has zero privacy. I recommend the cabins at the conference center.

Great spot for a family reunion or other group campout. This campground is full of history and beauty as it is situated right on the banks of the South Santiam River in the Willamette National Forest only 1 hour East of I-5 in Oregon.

Longbow Organization Camp was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The historic campground provides a covered cooking area with a fireplace and six sleep shelters that face the beautiful South Santiam River. The shelters are Adirondack cabins with fireplaces in front of each one and complete with 3 sets of bunks in each one.

FACILITIES: shelter with kitchen and dining area, amphitheater, 6 sleeping shelters, BBQ for cooking, vault toilets, hand pump, NO electricity

Silver Falls is awesome to visit and the campground is great if you have the opporunity to stay for a day or two.

Beautifully forested and close to the waterfalls, the campground has all the features you could need.  Tent sites, rv sites, and cabins.  It's very popular and can sometimes be hard to find a reservation.

Truly awesome site in every sense of the word. There is a gorgeous 14 mile trail from the campsite through a deep green canyon that takes you by 10+ waterfalls. This place is straight out of Jurassic park. The hike itself is easy to moderate and takes you behind a couple falls as well. I've stayed twice, once in a tent and once in a group cabin. The cabin was giant, enough to fit a hundred people if necessary. It has a large fire place in the middle of the great room, with stacks of wood on hand to purchase, as used, the next morning. Or you can provide your own. There is a separate room for chaperones or parents as well as a nicely outfitted commercial kitchen. Highly recommended for youth gatherings or wedding receptions. Plan to book at least a year in advance as it is popular, and the cost is fairly reasonable. This is a must see destination for true Oregonians as well as transplants. Great photo ops, swimming spots and has an interprative center. … Can't seem to locate other pics, so hopefully I can post those at a later date.

Silver Falls is magical!  The forecast was for rain but it held off long enough for us to have dinner and a campfire.  Then rained all night which make for incredible waterfalls the next day.  Great for families. Sadly the cabins were dirty with mice droppings and the restaurant was unable to make food for us.  Silver Falls State Park= 5 stars.  The "resort" 2 stars. I really hope they can improve the cooking and cleaning part of the resort.  It really is a lovely place.

Came here to meet up with a Facebook camping group. It was one member's favorite place and I see why! Nice level sites with water and electric. Dump station on site. The sites are private with picnic tables and fire pits. The bathrooms are very nice. Peeked inside some of the creekside cabins. Those look super cute.

The main attraction here is the South Santiam River, which in October is stunning. Would love to visit in the summer when can actually take a dip. It's a great place to come and sit and meditate, watch the birds, just relax. Love it here!

We loved our stay here. We started on site 2 but it has zero shade so they were able to give us site 8. Right on the river with the beautiful sights and sounds of that majestic McKenzie. We moved up to the upper campground to site 14 for the next couple days. Also shady with sight and sound of the river. They sites aren’t very big but have a table and fire pit. The tent sites across the river that you hike to are amazing!! I want to tent camp there!! So wooded and many have direct river access. They also have cabins to rent. The hot mineral pools were wonderful and the staff friendly. They have a small store with a few essentials but no real food available. Lovely place.

We love Belknap Hot Springs! Situated on the McKenzie River and near the McKenzie River Trail (MRT), this spot has it all. The MRT is known for world class mountain biking as well as waterfalls, lakes, the blue pool, and of course the river. It’s an amazing trail for hikers and bikers. I’ve done both and loved it! The campground has many great RV sites, cabins, and a lodge. Our favorite feature is the hot springs. They pump the natural hot water into commercial pools. This makes it so easy and relaxing to soak after a long day of hitting the trail. The river is also know for fishing and white water rafting. So much do to here! We love it here! I almost forgot, there is a beautiful secret garden at Belknap...don’t miss it!

General: Two loops with a mix of electric and non-electric sites plus cabins. 

Site Quality: All sites have paved, level camper pads, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Reasonable separation/privacy between sites, although you will see and hear your neighbors. 

Bath/Shower House: Bathrooms have been updated since our last visit six years ago. Automatic flush toilets and sinks. Soap dispensers and air dryers. They were clean. Showers are individual stalls with a bench and hooks for toiletries. The only thing missing was a garbage receptacle and there were signs indicating you needed to take your garbage out. I can only guess that previous campers abused the bathroom garbage, thus taking away the convenience for everyone else! 

Activities: Highlight for us is the Trail of Ten Falls which, as the name suggests, takes you past ten waterfalls. The entire trail is just over seven miles but there are shorter loop options. The best access is from the day-use area but you can get there from the campground to add mileage. Pets are not allowed on this trail. There are paved bike trails and other backcountry trails that allow dogs and horses. 

Our first visit to this state park was in 1990, and we returned in 1997 and 2017. We have loved it every time, even when it rains, as it does almost every time we visit!
