Ochoco NF-Ochoco West - Prineville Area

    Great Place

This is a great place.  The cabin is vintage and takes you back in time.  It was clean and comfortable.  The out house was very clean.  There is no water so you need to bring your own.  The Fridge and stove worked really well, we did have issues trying to get the lights to work.  But we had lanterns so it was not a problem.  We were visited by some cattle that were grazing near by.  Bring your own cleaning supplies and bedding.  The beds are full size with trundles under neath, there are two of them.  There is a small table with chairs in the kitchen.  There  is a picnic table and fire ring outside as well.

    Sunny Valley Campground

    Very nice!

We were here for a quick overnight in our 24' travel trailer. The place is very nice with tent, cabin, and RV sites. Our site was partial HU but they do have full HU sites. Bathrooms and showers were clean. It's close to I-5 bit the road noise was not bad and a chorus of frogs throughout the evening distracts from it. We were in spot 67 which was spacious and offered a great deal of privacy. Picnic table and fire pit on site. The nearby covered bridge is neat to see.

Valley of the Rogue State Park Campground

Brilliant blue waters in an intrepid forest.

This beautiful camp ground is a must! They have Cabins and camp sites available. I would advise reserving far in advance. The park and sites are well taken care of and a wonderful environment for a peaceful stay with hot shower facilities and restrooms.

Family and pet friendly, you will have direct river access to The Rogue River and its brilliant blue waters. Located down it's own little valley, this gives it the seclusion you are looking for and the access to town, if needed, only about 20 minutes away.

This camp ground is well worth any drive you may have to take to get there. Gorgeous!

Rainbow Bay at Lake of the Woods

    Great spot for the family!

My entire family has stayed here twice for family reunions and it has been a great spot for the entire family! They have cabins (tiny houses) for rent as well as spots for RVs! The lake is absolutely stunning and a great size for boating and fishing. The tiny cabins do have some critters living in them but as long as you don’t leave food on the counters you should be okay!

Great campground for an overnight heading north or south in southern Oregon

Nice, clean campground while en route.  Quiet, pet-friendly, power and water are available.  Septic is available.  Not crowded, sites open during the week, even in August.

Aspen Point (lake of The Woods, Or)

    Perfect spot to camp!

Multiple bathrooms, clean spaces with plenty of space, a shower, beautiful lake, and cell phone service! Went over the weekend and they have free live music at the lodge! Family and pet friendly really doesn’t get any better than this for $25 a night.

    Klamath Falls KOA

Great campground in the middle of the city

Want to be close to town for a night. This KOA is well kept, has a small store, gas station and propane. Also offers a clean pool and restroom. Camp sites are nice wirh green grass. There are also tent camping and cabins for rent. Be aware of midges, found by the water in these parts of Oregon (koa is by a canal). They don't bite, but are annoying and look like a mosquito. This KOA is close to stores, to refill groceries, restaurants and the Amazing Crater Lake and Lava beds National Parks.

    Willow lake

Wilderness Camping with the basics - A hidden Gem

What a fantastic lake! Secluded in the mountain back country of the Southern Oregon area - not far from Medford / Grants Pass / Siskiyou National Forest / Crater Lake

Great boating lake for water sports, good fishing, excellent hiking and great campsites and in nearby campgrounds not listed on The Dyrt yet, you can get some really secluded sites that are just beautiful... but do not expect more than an outhouse and a spigot, a picnic table (maybe a bear box?) and fire-ring- which to me is PHENOMENAL camping. Fresh water, a bathroom and nature. Works!

The Willow Lake County Park offers more amenities though and great wilderness. Its a beautiful little gem and gets amazing weather- from warm and sunny to random rainy thunderstorms that do not last long. Truly God-sent sunsets and sunrises.

Great place to make some wonderful memories with streams, creeks, the lake, the forested areas, trails, canyons, fishing, hiking, canoeing and more.
