About 3 miles inland from the Oregon coast, Wapiti RV Park sits in a farm-like setting off a side road south of Lincoln City, reached by turning at a small roadside sign and following the route east. The campground has two distinct areas: a paved lot with full hookups (electric, water, and sewer) and tables for RVs, and an open meadow where tent campers and van travelers can spread out without hookups. Sites run around $25 to $33 depending on setup. No reservations appear required, though the park fills when coastal state campgrounds close out.
Elk sightings are a recurring feature here, not a rarity. Multiple campers have counted herds of 50 or more animals browsing through camp in the late afternoon. A creek runs along the property, and large shade trees line parts of the meadow. The RV lot sites sit close together, and the meadow tent area, while open, does not offer much privacy between parties. Lawn maintenance has been reported starting around 9 a.m., which is worth knowing for light sleepers.
Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, a dump station, and WiFi. The park formerly operated under the Elks organization and may still honor Elks member discounts. Cleanliness has drawn mixed feedback, with some campers noting well-kept bathrooms and others flagging maintenance gaps in shared structures. Mearced C. describes the showers as having "no pay showers and even a heat lamp above shower." Nearby, Elks Wapiti Park and dispersed options in the Siuslaw National Forest, including Siuslaw NF Dispersed off FR 1700 (Drift Creek Falls Road), give campers additional choices in the corridor. This campground works best as a fallback when coast sites are booked, or as a base for campers who want full hookups without paying resort prices.
