Willow Creek Campground

Anglers and those who simply want to sit near moving water will find Willow Creek running alongside the campground, with a buffer of aspens and cottonwoods lining the bank. Sites are clearly defined with fire rings, picnic tables, and grills, and the campground stays uncrowded, sometimes empty even on weekends.

Highway 139 runs close enough that road noise carries into camp. One reviewer notes the campground shares a vault toilet facility with highway travelers, which some find reduces the sense of seclusion. That said, the tree and creek buffer does absorb some of the noise, and the campground itself stays well-maintained. Cell coverage is unreliable here, so download maps before arriving. The campground accommodates RVs up to 32 feet, reservations are available, and the season runs May through October. Campers passing through northeastern California on a longer route will find this a functional and low-key overnight stop.
