Free alternative to a campground

We were just looking for a safe place to stay overnight while passing through. Thanks to the detailed report of N I., we found the place and tested it. Our two boys were able to watch the river in the morning, watch boats being lowered into the water and run across the lawn and the site. It was clean and quiet. We felt safe. We ate breakfast at the picnic tables in the shade, overlooking the bridge and river. There were also few other campers here who have made themselves comfortable for several days.

We did not find anything to pay for. Therefore, I think it is free of charge.

We also found the dumping station at Love's. It will cost 10$.

In the early 1900’s there was a ferry that crossed the Arkansas River and now there is an extremely high bridge that you may view from this quaint small park.  This are is where the picnic tables and grill are located.

The parking area is paved and we pulled up next to the grassy wooded area to park.

This park is located just before the town of Gore and we felt safe but you would need to use your judgement. Great cell service. Just down the road at Love’s you will find a dump station.

Directions: Going north on Highway 100 as soon as you cross the bridge turn to the left at the first road. The park is a short distance located in a nice wooded area.
