Sequoyah State Park - Marina and Cabins

    Excellent November Tent Destination

We stayed in the north end of the Choctaw Campground, nearest the converted cabin and heated showerhouse. All facilities (water, toilets, info) were open and working. On arrival we booked a spot and had no issues with internet to do so. Rangers came through daily, but no sign of camp host over the Thanksgiving weekend. We were the only tent visitors until our last night when two additional campers arrived. The trails were great aside from some glass that appeared to wash in a long the lower nature trail, which was a concern for our dog so we went to take the fitness trail back. The sunset view from south of the lodge was worth the wait. Nature Center staff were more helpful than the info center, on top of a super educational and fun tour they held even in the chilly wind. Cons - There seemed to be less parking than spots, waterside spots definitely had signs of being washed out this season around the picnic tables, and overall it was hard to spot some numbers on spots. Spots were mostly crowded, would not come to this site in a peak season.

    Peaceful. Serene. Secluded.

This has been a great experience. Especially for a solo trip. Offer A frame structure. There is currently no running water due to colder temperatures. But once it warms water is on site. The land is beautiful and firewood is provided for a small fee. The Outdoor show is a nice touch too. Will definitely be back.

    Fun in the Sun

Came to Keystone State Park for a camping weekend and I am pleased with the Park and facilities. We got there a little late, around 10 pm and it was l little hard to find out site because the numbers were hard to find for the campsites. Thankfully some nice people showed us where our site was. After getting to our site I was a little shocked at how close all the sites are to each other. We did however have the nicest of camp neighbors so that was no issue for us. It was Labor Day weekend so the site was fully booked. The bathrooms were the nicest, cleanest bathrooms from a campsite I have ever seen so that was definitely a plus! We came to swim and I am so happy that it was very easy to get to the water from the campsite. There were also grills closer to the water that we took advantage of while watching the beautiful sunset. The electric boxes were closed to where you put your tent so we only had to use one of the extension cords we brought. Our site was missing the fire ring but there were rocks in it's place. Overall we had a fantastic time at this campsite and would definitely come back!

    Stoney Ridge Campground

    Friendly, mostly long term campers.

It’s pretty obvious that this is a live in campground. The owner was SO friendly and even moved an entire picnic table for our family to use. Some kiddos came over right away to play with ours. Super friendly experience. Only 4 stars because I do believe some of the live ins could be held to a higher standard of upkeep. Would definitely visit again.

Site does have individual waste disposal.

    Beautiful, but loud.

Absolutely breathtaking over at L33. Right next to the one of several parks with a beautiful lake view. The only complaint is it seems there is a bar or something of the sorts and the drumming is loud and very subpar, going until late hours. Not ideal with kiddos.

    Checotah, OK….Really nice campground .

If I was in area would stay again. Easy to get to and they take you to your site. Our 42’ 5th wheel snuggled in nicely. Sites have a large patio with chairs, table, gas grill and one for a wood fire. Each site is nicely landscaped. It’s quiet except for a bit of road noise but certainly nothing to complain about. You can still hear the sounds of nature. It’s very clean, lovely staff and gentleman that takes you to your site was very friendly and welcoming. They do have a laundry but didn’t use it. Our 2 dogs had a great time in the dog park which was really close. Highly recommend!!

    Overnight Stay

We stayed one night in November. Easy on/off, though the service road isn’t in good shape. We were in site 13, closest to the highway along with two cabins and the playground. Extremely noisy so if traffic bothers you request a site towards the back. Lots of trees. Our site was also close to the toilets and showers which were very clean. Shower stalls are private with a door and a curtain but the stalls are very shallow. Don’t leave anything on the floor in the outer area or it will get wet. There is a very shallow bench to put your items on but not meant for sitting. Two hooks to hang your items which is appreciated. No lock on the bathroom door. Pull through 50 amp. We’re towing a 28ft Airstream and it was level enough we didn’t need to unhitch. Listed as a gravel site but more dirt than gravel. Full hook ups, no cable, limited wifi. $44.50 a night. The swing in the playground desperately needs some WD-40, lol. We would overnight here again if needed.

    Safe and beautiful

Booked last minute and arrived at 1am. Beautiful state park and the water looks amazing. Not much artificial light aside from other campers so it felt secluded but not solitary. Great bathrooms and showers.

    42-A Lo Great Location

Great location with lots of shade. Also, very close to the playground. Easy spot to back-in and is very level. Only downside is that you must be back in the park by 10:00 PM. They park managers will lock the gate and you either have to walk to your campsite or if you leave a car at the gate you can drive your secondary car while leaving your primary car outside the main gate. We were in town for a baseball tournament. Otherwise we would’ve been back in plenty of time.

    Clean and modern

Great State Park close to Tulsa. RV sites and primitive Tent Camping. Great clean and modern toilets and showers with heating and air near the marina. There is a camp shop near the entrance and a short nature trail with some great views. I will definitely be going back

Sequoyah State Park - Marina and Cabins

    Confusing

We got here and there were tons of signs saying reservations required. I quickly made one online and we grabbed a map to find our way. Long story short — 15 mins later we realized that Sequoyah BAY state park is different from just Sequoyah State Park. Not sure why they put both campgrounds on the same map but don’t make this mistake! The other campground was only 20 min away though.

    Great Ammenities!!!

Swimming, basketball court, baseball field, marina, showers, all within a HUGE campground. It is November 30th and we are literally the only people in five loops of this campground.

Really liked the campgrounds. The staff were all very friendly. Besides full hookups, they have clean bathrooms, short trail walk to lake, a donkey, geese, a park for the kiddos, and a little c store to get some extras you may need. They have pull through sites too. Not level but that's what leveling blocks are for. Highway noise was no bother and easy access to I40. Definitely will stay again!

    They are working on it

Convenient to Tulsa, this large park has a variety of sites to choose from. It is evident they are making park upgrades with new bathhouses, paving and signs. They have not made improvements to the Lake Country sites. The pull through sites are very close together. The pad is pretty level but a couple of them are cracked and crumbling. Full hook ups are nice with 30/50 amp. The section near the pier seems like the sites are more spaced out. Large beautiful lake provides nice views. If you don’t like to hear trains, the campground is located close to the tracks (was ok for me ). Reservations are required and there is no check in system, just pull up to your site. There is a park office but check in isn’t required.

Lovely campground with access to a lake and marina

This quiet campground has well spaced sites but there are no barriers(trees or bushes) between sites. We stayed in the RV section. Would recommend looking carefully at the maps provided on the website and Google maps if you want a lake view!

    Beautiful space, great lake!

I really enjoyed my stay at Keystone Lake State Park, despite my slightly rowdy neighboring campers. We stayed at a tent site with a direct, but slightly tough, route down to the lake. The area was beautiful, and there were plenty of amenities, including restroom and shower. Though we didn't actually see much wildlife, we did have what we think was a sneaky raccoon steal our bread in the night, so lock that cooler up tight! The lake is beautiful and warm until you get deep, and the people were all really friendly (aside from our neighboring campers)!

    Hawthorn Bluff

Nice campground on an underrated lake

Vibe: Classic quiet Army Corp park. Almost all RVs. Ours was the only tent.

    Cleanliness: Above average

    Facilities: Average

General spots: Good size, good spacing, not private, some back up to lake, but there is a sizable drop off to lake level.

Our site: Don’t remember the number, but it backed up to the lake.

Noise: Quiet. It was a mid-week stay during the school year.

    Cell signal: Good/Verizon

Other: Close to dam and behind the dam appeared to be a popular fishing spot when water was being released.

    overnight stay

stayed for one night during a road trip with a friend. We're both females and felt safe. Tent sites were pretty big and flat. We didn't go in the lake, the water was pretty stagnant and didn't feel refreshing. The bathrooms were okay, I didn't take a shower, but they seemed clean. Sunset by the lake was really beautiful! Rangers/staff were very nice and helpful too.
