Dam Site - Fort Gibson Lake - Primitive Camping

    It's a nice area.

I live east of the dam and ofter go there to walk. It is a nice park but small. It is well maintained and clean. I think the information needs to be updated. All the flood damage is fixed. All in all it's a nice park. Not sure about bathrooms and showers but the outside is very clean. The river is dangerous but pretty to look at. I understand there is great fishing there. You can go swimming on the southwest side of the dam and up a little ways. There is a bar/restaurant across the river but I've never been inside.

    Basic RV Park

Spots are level and have full hook ups. We didn't try the bathrooms or laundry rooms and stayed only 3 nights. It's in the middle of town so there is plenty of road and train noises, but that didn't bother us too much. It's a decent spot to stay if you are just passing through or visiting town. Spots all seem to be pull through and they stack you close when full. It's park yourself just remember your site number. We didn't see the camp host once.

    Excellent November Tent Destination

We stayed in the north end of the Choctaw Campground, nearest the converted cabin and heated showerhouse. All facilities (water, toilets, info) were open and working. On arrival we booked a spot and had no issues with internet to do so. Rangers came through daily, but no sign of camp host over the Thanksgiving weekend. We were the only tent visitors until our last night when two additional campers arrived. The trails were great aside from some glass that appeared to wash in a long the lower nature trail, which was a concern for our dog so we went to take the fitness trail back. The sunset view from south of the lodge was worth the wait. Nature Center staff were more helpful than the info center, on top of a super educational and fun tour they held even in the chilly wind. Cons - There seemed to be less parking than spots, waterside spots definitely had signs of being washed out this season around the picnic tables, and overall it was hard to spot some numbers on spots. Spots were mostly crowded, would not come to this site in a peak season.

    So nice!

Someone came into the office from at 10pm just to let me camp. She was SOOOO nice! The facilities are absolutely incredible . The nicest bathrooms I’ve seen on my cross country trip. A little pricey at $67 per night, but they make it worth it with the excellent facilities.

    Clean, well maintained campground

Twin Points campground is a very well maintained campground. The paved campsites accommodate big rigs as well as our campervan. Didn't see many sites that can accommodate tents. The restroom/shower house was very clean & equipped with tp. The host was nice & patrolled the campground often. Camped in site #9 among oak trees. Partial view of the lake behind the site. No campsite to the right. Good separation between sites. I would stay here again.

    COE Lake Skiatook Twin Points

    Massive Lake

Site #5 was level with plenty of shade. Wide picnic/patio area was clean. There was quite a drop off on 2 sides of this nicely spaced wide site. You could see the glimmer of water through the trees but really just a wooded view. The sun would shine directly on site around noon but mornings and evenings were pleasant. Bathhouse was updated and clean with individual shower stall in each of the 4 areas. Unfortunately there was little water pressure at the bathouse and just disappointing warm water in shower. (UPDATE- WIFE said she had plenty of hot water and she never she's that.) All sites share water but this particular one was too far away for nearest site to share. FYI, Water at site really high pressure, have regulator ready. Gate attendant was polite and actually on post nearly all the time. The lake itself is massive. Had no idea just how big until we saw from a distance. Wish we had a boat to take advantage. We had plenty of areas for walking the dogs. Overall we enjoyed this COE more than others mainly because of the upkeep.

Skiatook(15 min) has a multitude of places to eat. Fast food to actual sit down restaurants are everywhere. I recommend Mac's BBQ.

Great Place for overnight or longer stay

We stopped for an overnight stay on the way home to Texas.

Total for one night stay was $31.25.

Site was very large, with enough room for our 35+ foot 5th wheel and F350.

Pad is gravel and was level.

Had water, sewer and power hook ups at site.

    Campground was quiet at night.

Location is well taken care of and was a nice stop.

Dogwood Campground — Lake Eufula State Park

    Shady and Secluded

Site 95 in Dogwood loop of Lake Eufala is awesome. Only 1 other RV site close by. Rest of campers are half mile away. Unless you need the bathouse regularly it's the perfect spot. Plenty of trees, squirrels, birds, and a few deer. Site is paved but not quite level. It's listed as premium site because of patio and wider driveway. Nearly all others are super narrow with 4-5 inch drop off on either side. I would have been rolling my ankle constantly. You're pretty close to entrance of this campground so road noise could be a problem during peak season. Short drive to lake or you can take one of the trails. Full Hookups were dirty but in good working order.

    Not very pleasant.

Stayed the night prior to a bass tournament. I was surprised to see weeds overgrown in the camp areas, the shoreline is covered in tall weeds. The fire rings were trashed and grill mostly unusable. Loud trucks and cars made it very noisy. Evidently there isn’t a speed limit or anyone out there enforcing any laws. I will return to fish but it’s not worth camping at. Cell service is very unreliable.

This place is a casino and a dog track. Very busy place- the office called us to get an idea on our ETA. Told us where to park to get our paperwork. It’s a bit confusing coming in but we hooked up with someone on a golf cart who took us right to our site. Nice and long for our 40’ motorhome and truck. Didn’t check out any of the amenities. Gentry Creek Landing

    On Top of the HIll

Our campsite, #33, was perched on top of a hill, accessible by a fairly long, steep incline.  The site is not level and would be appropriate only for shorter RVs.  The site's position made it one of the more isolated campsites so it was more private than others.  Site #33 does not have its own water source.  It shares one water spigot with 2 other sites.

Eufaula Lake was muddy and not very appealing. The camp grounds were well-maintained and the camp host was friendly.

This once cool camping lake looks unattractive and not taking care of of. Weeds in campgrounds, fire pits full of trash and grills all broken. There is no longer any personnel or workers living in the area. You are basically on your own with no Patrols or Law Enforcement. Loud people kept us up all night and we left early. Go elsewhere. Crack Head Camp Hosts

Until the state replaces these lecherous leprechauns who creep around and undress you with their eyes leering with their rotted teeth and unwashed bodies, I won't be back.  The place is managed by drug addicts.   This place is local to me and I went there often till 2023 when these folks took over.  You'll probably find missing children in their closet.  Seriously, these folks need to go.  This was my favorite park, went for years but I won't go back till I know they are gone.  I never felt afraid solo camping anywhere till I solo camped here after they took over.  There's not enough locks on  your camper door to sleep with them around.  State of Oklahoma - DO BETTER.   I spent a lot of money there but I won't spend one red cent til these folks are gone.

    Nice clean campground

Spent one night at this campground. Grounds were clean, restrooms and showers were also clean. The check in office was inviting and pleasing. We didn’t use the laundry facility while we were there, but they are available should the need arise. Bathrooms were locked and secure and passcode was required to enter. Passcode was provided upon check in. Our site was a pull through level gravel pad with full hookups. The off leash dog park was a small fenced in area with a couple of benches. Horse track and casino were well within walking distance from the camp sites. Quiet location, just off the highway. Highway could not be heard from inside our camper.

Camping near Jenks, Oklahoma, offers a mix of beautiful landscapes and fun activities for everyone. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or an action-packed adventure, there are plenty of campgrounds to explore.

What to do:

  • Hiking and Nature Trails: Enjoy the great outdoors by hiking the trails. A visitor at Greenleaf State Park Campground mentioned, "Good trails, fairly well marked," making it a great spot for nature lovers.
  • Family Activities: Many parks have playgrounds and sports facilities. One family at Osage Hills State Park Campground enjoyed the "playground, group spots, and overall just really enjoyable place to stay."

What campers like:

  • Clean Facilities: Campers appreciate well-maintained restrooms and showers. A reviewer at Keystone State Park Campground noted, "The bathrooms were the nicest, cleanest bathrooms from a campsite I have ever seen."

  • Friendly Staff: Campers often mention helpful staff. A visitor at Eagle Bluff Resort shared, "The camp management was very hospitable."

What you should know:

  • Reservations Required: Some campgrounds require reservations, so it's best to plan ahead. A camper at Sequoyah Bay Marina and Cabins mentioned, "There were tons of signs saying reservations required."
  • Limited Amenities: Not all campgrounds have full amenities. A visitor at Heyburn Park noted, "The park didn't have a map so we weren't sure where the site was."
