ScoutThe staff is extremely friendly, and try to accomadate with anything you could need. The campesites are fairly large with gravel pads. They offer water and electric hook-up for 30&50 amps. There is not a sewer hook up but they do offer a weekly pump out for a small fee and a dump station on the way out. The pool, ponds, playground and pavillion are all within walking distance from almost any site.

FHU loop D has narrow roads and require driving on grass to back in trailer and some campers in other sites had to move their vehicles

No entry gate personnel on a Friday afternoon to accomplish check-in. Went to park office next morning and was informed no check in required prior to Memorial Day. Never saw a Park ranger driving thru campground
LegendThis park is know for the lake that is kayak and canoe friendly since it doesn’t allow any kind of boat with a motor. It also features a beach , 2 playgrounds and several hiking trails. Just be careful if you hike with dogs since some trails intersect with a nature preserve which doesn’t allow pets.
The campground itself has 20 electric sites , 56 primitive sites and 4 camper cabins. All the electric sites are pull through and all sites have a fire pit but only the electric sites come with picnic tables.
Due to off season and COVID the camp store is closed and there is no camper host or park office staff around.
We did notice lots of downed trees on the poorly marked hiking trails. Some trails just started but no maps were around and no trails were blazed. It was hard to tell where we were headed or how long a trail was. I tried using the new Detour app and it wasn’t very accurate for this park.
We did have good Verizon cell coverage.
GuideThe pool looked to be the spot for the kids of all ages on this hot 4th of July. GuideThis was our last camping trip of the year and it was cold. The campground was nearly empty so that was nice but the surrounding area was very crowded. There was nearly no area on the lake that didn’t have houses. The campground was clean and well maintained. There are sites that have access to get out on the water via a small canal. Some sites had good shade, and others had no shade. Overall it was a nice place, but the lake seemed very busy, even in cold weather.
GuideThis is definitely a campground for families and for those who want lots of company in there experience. There are no wooded areas in the campground so all spaces are open to all the other camper. Some shaded areas but mostly open land. Lots of activities for kids and families and even movies and music on the weekend.full power both 30 and 50 amp at almost all site and strong wifi where I was.lots of things going on up until about 10 pm. Then it quiets down. Nice place for families who want outdoor activities.
ScoutStayed 2 nights here. Had a back-in, water/electric spot that was roomy as we were on an end. Wood deck, picnic table, and fire ring included. Very well kept grounds, friendly staff, and all-around good atmosphere.
ScoutIndian Lake State Park is my close to home camping get away. Right on Indian lake, you can enjoy the beach, boating, swimming, fishing and relaxing. Last year, the state park added a nice inground swimming pool. the state park is a fun, family friendly, safe place to enjoy camping. It is kept up and maintained well.
