Wapakoneta KOA

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at Wapakoneta KOA, a drive-in campground off I-75 in western Ohio, with nightly rates running $42 to $55 and a season that runs from mid-March through the end of October. The campground sits close enough to the interstate that highway proximity is noticeable on paper, though multiple reviewers note the actual traffic noise is minimal from the sites. Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer are available, along with a dump station, WiFi, and showers, making this a practical overnight stop or short-stay base for RV travelers moving through the region.

Sites are level gravel. Several reviewers flag that individual site dimensions run on the smaller side, with one noting there is "not much room to fit the trailer and vehicle," so rigs with extended setups should confirm site dimensions before booking. End spots tend to offer more breathing room. Staff assistance with backing in is mentioned more than once, which suggests the crew is attentive on arrival. Some sites include a small wooden deck with a picnic table, though this does not appear to be a guaranteed feature across all bookings.

Beyond hookups, the campground includes a pool, playground, two fenced dog areas, a game room, laundry facilities, and an on-site store. The grounds are consistently described as clean and well-maintained. Travelers using this as a stopover along I-75 who want to extend their time in the area can find campgrounds near Jackson Center for additional options in Auglaize County. Nearby, Venture Out Resorts Arrowhead Lakes Resort offers a lake-based alternative a short distance south. Wapakoneta KOA works best for RV travelers who prioritize clean facilities and reliable hookups over spacious sites.

Nice for an overnight stay

It's a nice campground, convenient to the Interstate, but the sites are very close together, so you'd better be on good terms with your neighbor. Having cable and a cafe that delivers to your site is a real plus, but the wifi if iffy.

Out Standing

Wonderful facility! Pool, pool table, games for kids and adults. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is super friendly and helpful! Oh and in the laundry room they even have a sink for washing dishes! Great for tent campers ar those with small units that don't have kitchens.

Hard to believe they are part of KOA

Made reservation on line in February. I called and the recording stated they where closed. Early March sent email using KOA site email address cancelling reservation. Got a call the night of the date we where suppose to arrive asking if we where still coming. I let the person on the phone we had sent an email early March cancelling reservation. I was told they never recieved any email. I was charged for the reservation.

Guess it is like a money garb. Definitely a reason why Canadians are not going to US. Wonder if the staff has the Trump label pins? If your that hard up for $$ glad I could help. Will make sure I tell everyone about how crappy this KOA is.

Nice Campground

Great service and help getting the trailer positioned correctly. A few food options on site are nice. The actual sites are very small. Not much room to fit the trailer and vehicle. Basically the site is as wide as your awning.

Impressive!

Super clean KOA with level gravel sites (no weeds popping up through gravel!) 2 Fenced dog areas, nice playground, game room, giant chess set outside, clean pool.. you name it, this KOA has it! I was impressed when Mike helped me back into my site.. it had a little wooden deck with a picnic table (I did not request nor pay extra for this perk!) I noticed something that I've not seen at other campgrounds: each of the waste connection covers had a 'fake' rock over the top. Very clever! The KOA is very tidy and well kept.

Nice folks here. I would highly recommend it!

Local base camp

We stay here while visiting family nearby Ohio. Lots of shade and quiet even with families and usually pretty full, hosts are extremely nice and accommodating. Swimming pool is clean. Not far from highway but no real traffic noise. Check out the Template of Tolerance a few miles away in Wapakoneta. Definitely with a visit.

Nice little weekend getaway

Stayed 2 nights here. Had a back-in, water/electric spot that was roomy as we were on an end. Wood deck, picnic table, and fire ring included. Very well kept grounds, friendly staff, and all-around good atmosphere.

Great Overnight Stop

Great place to stop and recover from the road! Close to I75, level sites, laundry, showers, two dog areas and a store and restaurant. The managers are wonderful! We do not travel with children but the campground has a nice playground, nine hole puttputt, pool and other recreational activities. The campground is very clean and quiet at night so you can totally recover from ghe road!
