Everyone is very polite and helpful with anything you may need. The camp hosts are awesome 👍
Great park. Staff friendly and helpful bathrooms close to every site. Would be more convenient if all sites had full hookups
We had a great time. Lots of activities and trails.
We were just passing through for one night and we’d been there before but this is a new site to us. It had a decent level pad and plenty deep enough for our camper and tow vehicle. The site has a large side and backyard with a great view of the lake. The shower house was just a short walk. Check in was easy and so was finding our site.
The shower are unisex, and there is a train that blows its horn all night long
The online reservation system is clumsy to use at best. And you have to make a reservation. And reserving adds another $6.50. The campground is nice, clean restrooms and showers. Plenty of shade The whole process of trying to check in just made me wish I was at work instead.
I gave a one start only because I had too the place is horrible kept the spot we reserved from the map was not saved we got there it had a camper in it we had to take a spot down a steep hill no activities the facilities was dirty dumpster over flowing washing machines broke bathrooms dirty water had a bad smell and particles in it would advice not to drink the water ! Wendy the owner or owner want to be was extremely rude suppose be smoke free she was smoking blew right into out motor home causing us a trip to the er my daughter went into a asthma attack no activites for anyone no pool but a nasty green beach I would not even let my lab swim in when we ask for part of our money back and not stay the whole week the person in the office Wendy said she would we went to the office when leaving she denied saying she would give any type refund lied to us I would advise another campground tbjs is poorly ran and way too much money and a dump who knows what's up with the water place needs condemned and start over with better management and someone with social skills I will not be back and I will not recommend to anyone else and we travel a great deal and know.many who does also wish I had take. Time to look at and read reviews I have learned a valuable lesson here .
No one seemed to care about the 10 pm quiet time. Lots of kids on bikes riding down the middle of the road. Probably won't be back.
Great service and help getting the trailer positioned correctly. A few food options on site are nice. The actual sites are very small. Not much room to fit the trailer and vehicle. Basically the site is as wide as your awning.
PROS
Able to reserve 144 days prior to arriving
Very nice campground but the design leaves a lot to be desired
Friendly camp hosts who were busy picking up trash in common areas and cleaning sites Moveable picnic table
Metal fire ring with cooking grate
Site D45 level asphalt parking pad surrounded by grass
Great view of lake from D loop; some had water access at rear of site
Quiet except for campground party animals who kept it going into the wee hours of the morning
Coin-operated laundromats in non FHU loops $1.50 wash and $1 dry
Free WIFI available and able to connect at campsite
Dump Stations at Park exit have complimentary hoses
Camp store sells hard dipped ice cream
14 miles from the Airstream Service Center in Jackson Center
CONS
No senior discount
$6.50 reservation fee for self made on-line reservation
Basically the FHU loops are out in a field…no privacy from neighbors and no shade what so ever
Grass around sites desperately needed mowed, if you could get thru the large mud puddles
FHU loop D has narrow roads and require driving on grass to back in trailer and some campers in other sites had to move their vehicles
Short length of campsite required creative parking of tow vehicle
Damn Canadian Geese poop every...what a mess!
Site number on electric utility box
FHU sewer connection at the back of the campsite so bring the looooong stinky slinky FHU loop D had tiny toilet building, but no showers; showers were in non-FHU loops
No entry gate personnel on a Friday afternoon to accomplish check-in. Went to park office next morning and was informed no check in required prior to Memorial Day. Never saw a Park ranger driving thru campground
The campground was clean with a nice heated pool….
It was ok we probably won’t come back, the playground was in need of some serious repair, Wi-Fi didn’t work
Spent 3 nights in the wide open A Loop. Checked in on a Sunday and left on Wednesday. Pretty much had the loop to ourselves. Didn’t bother to hookup the electric because the solar was keeping up with our needs. Ran to Jackson Center to checkout the Airstream Factory. Great Verizon signal allowed us to stream.
My wife and I spent Mother’s Day weekend at this campground. With heavy rain on Friday, the campground and flowing river through the campground. For the rest of the weekend our campsite had standing water around the fire pit and was similar to other site around the campground.
Big lots , very family friendly , Well-stocked store lots of family activities the water isn’t swimmable at the moment but it’s still really nice nice bath houses nice toilets
Loved our we can there. The site was a little bit muddy but no big deal. We were right by the restrooms which were nice they have a nice dump station and lots for the kids to do. The playground could definitely use some up keep there was a lot of rust and sharp metal pieces. The camp store definitely needs updating they hardly had anything in there. All in all we were totally go back is really relaxing and beautiful
Super clean KOA with level gravel sites (no weeds popping up through gravel!) 2 Fenced dog areas, nice playground, game room, giant chess set outside, clean pool.. you name it, this KOA has it! I was impressed when Mike helped me back into my site.. it had a little wooden deck with a picnic table (I did not request nor pay extra for this perk!) I noticed something that I've not seen at other campgrounds: each of the waste connection covers had a 'fake' rock over the top. Very clever! The KOA is very tidy and well kept.
Nice folks here. I would highly recommend it!
State parts are usually good parks, but Indian Lake was our favorite of the summer. A large lake, and large campground. Lots of trailer and tent camping, complete with a beach, boat dock and commissary. The campground had an ice cream stand and showed a movie on Saturday evening for kids in their amphitheater. We will definitely return!
Great time
Very clean and friendly! They have the nicest cleanest camp bathrooms/shower house I've ever seen. Fishing, pond swimming, trails
Best place ever. Love the location and everything there is to do. We always get a place near the boat dock and take our boat and waverunner.
We had a really great time. The place has a pool and updated bathrooms. Nice trails and clean. The sites are kinda small in some areas though. The one section is like a parking lot. Your site is all asphalt your fire ring is even on the asphalt.
cool
What a dump. And what a horrible owner who told me I was "bitching" about the campground. I stayed one night after they put me down a steep hill that I barely got back up, near a portajohn, a run down permanent trailer and a construction site. It was pitch black and I would have had to unhook the truck just to drive to the bathhouse at the top of the campground hill. Even after I explained that I had traveled cross country with a sick dog and hadn't showered in 3 days. He wouldn't give me my money back when I checked out after 1 night even since I had prepaid for a week. For a lower price, you can stay 15 minutes west on Indian Lake. It's no wonder he is selling the place. He's running it into the ground with a bad attitude and dumpy spots.
Traveling with a dog is not always easy, but I throughly enjoyed my stay. Will be back again, happy it wasn’t full of people. Wifi strong, Verizon service great, premium electric (I have 30amp and there was a hookup), no water as it’s winter meaning no bathrooms (there is a porterhouse). Clean sites and friendly folks.
We love camping in the off season but with that comes closures. Some sections of the campgrounds might not be open, no camp hosts and limited bathrooms and showers houses. This is to be expected, but when I called the morning of our trip to make sure potable water was available and I was told yes it was only to drive 2 hours and realized they were wrong. No water 🙁. This would not have been a peas we have dry camped before but all the bathrooms were closed as well.
After called the park ranger he did let us get some water at the maintenance building so we were at least able to finish the weekend. Lesson learned always pull with at least some water.
Now back to the campground itself was nice and clean. Site are a little close together. The biggest down side is you are there to enjoy the lake but the lake had algae warnings everywhere not to go near the water.
They do have a dog park, pool and splash pad when in season and a marina. Also they have WiFi and good cell coverage.
Very nice campground with larger campsites. Campers varied from tents to large RV’s. Most sites are shaded with large trees and at the end of the cul de sac’s were canals that let you access the lake from the campground. Even had docks for boat campers. A very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere here. Park and restrooms were clean and the showerhouse in “B” section seemed to have been just remodeled. Some fast food and restaurants were close by with unique places like the “Tiltin Hilton” which offered a selection of sandwiches and beer. Nice large playground for the kids as well. Always seemed to have a breeze through the campsites.
I thought I’d enjoy this place a little more because I’d heard from several people and they liked their experience. There are a lot on permanent sites and we just felt a little out of place because we are “weekenders.” I would have rated this place a one star had we not rented a golf cart. Our site was far from anything and with 3 kids it was tough not to spend the 65/day cart rate. We will probably return here in the summer to experience more of the swimming areas. Also we’ll try and get a group to go with us so we won’t feel as alienated.
