Best Cabin Camping near Brecksville, OH

Several campgrounds within driving distance of Brecksville, Ohio provide cabin rentals with varying levels of amenities and comfort. Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA offers furnished cabins with clean facilities and friendly staff, while West Branch State Park Campground features cabins near a 2,650-acre lake with hiking trails and beach access. Roundup Lake RV Resort provides park model cabins with full bathrooms and kitchens, though one visitor noted, "The bed was the only detractor of our trip, as it was mostly springs. We brought our air mattress in for the second night and slept much better." Most cabins include electricity, and some feature air conditioning, heating, and private bathrooms, while others offer more rustic accommodations with shared facilities nearby.

Cabin types range from basic rustic structures to deluxe units with modern conveniences. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Akron/Canton provides family-oriented cabin camping with activities for children, though reviews mention mattress quality issues: "The bunk beds have very thin RV style bunk bed mattresses. And the master bed mattress was a weak memory foam." KOA locations typically offer clean, well-maintained cabins that come at a premium price point. Pet policies vary by location, with some cabins being pet-friendly while others prohibit animals inside. Reservations are essential, especially during summer months when many visitors report cabins booking up to six months in advance. Most state park cabins remain open year-round, while private campgrounds typically operate from April through October.

Most cabin rentals provide basic furniture and sleeping surfaces but require guests to bring their own linens, pillows, towels, and toiletries. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between locations, from fully equipped kitchens with refrigerators and stoves to simple countertops with microwaves or no indoor cooking facilities at all. Fire rings and picnic tables are standard at most cabin sites for outdoor cooking and dining. On-site camp stores at locations like Streetsboro KOA offer essentials such as ice, firewood, drinks, and snacks, though prices tend to be higher than at grocery stores. Visitors staying multiple nights should consider bringing cooking supplies, food staples, and cleaning products, as these items are rarely provided and can be expensive to purchase at campground stores.

    West Branch State Park Campground

Well kept campground with access to beach and dock

Each campsite in on a leveled cement pad and comes with a fire ring a picnic table. There is plenty of room around your site and you don't feel crowded. Most sites offer nice tree coverage for shade. The restrooms and showers are very clean and well taken care of. There is also a laundry facility and sink outside each one for washing dishes and water fountains throughout the park. There is a nice beachfront for swimming and then a dock that be reached from outside the park. A beautiful lake for kayaking or boating. The store has most camping needs in it and once a week they host an ice cream social. Has a very nice playground and a sand volleyball court. There are some hiking trails, but nothing extensive.

    Roundup Lake RV Resort

Great Lively Place with lots of Amenities

Starting off, everyone from the employees to the other campers were super friendly! My boyfriend and I rented The Park Model Cabin which was sort of a half trailer with a full bathroom and full kitchen. The bed was the only detractor of our trip, as it was mostly springs. We brought our air mattress in for the second night and slept much better. The themed weekends throughout the season are fun and festive and there are a lot of activities to do and participate!

    West Branch State Park Campground

    Wooded Waterside Sites

Make reservations! (6 months in advance).  Waterside sites fill up quickly! Check in is very easy as you pass the camp store on your way in. All campsites have a fire ring and picnic table.  West Branch has private, spacious, shady sites. We can launch our kayaks right from our campsite. The shower house and bathrooms are large and clean. There is even a book exchange shelf at the shower house in case of rainy days. The park office loans games and sports equipment to campers. Washers and dryers are also at the shower house. There is an outside sink to wash up dishes. Bring your boat or kayak. There are many inlets to explore or fish. There is a small beach at the campground but a larger one on the other side of the lake. There is a boat launch at the campground.  There are playgrounds for the children. An ice cream social is held on Saturday evenings that my children always love to attend. There is a newer dog park near the intersection of Rock Spring  and Esworthy roads. There are many scenic hiking trails at West Branch. Bridal trails are located on Esworthy Rd. West Branch is our favorite campground and we make sure to visit every year.

    Mosquito Lake State Park Campground

    Great State Park Campground

We just got back from our first trip to Mosquito Lake State Park Campground. All in all, it was a great experience.

We stayed in site 67, which is a waterfront site, with electric. The water is about 25 yards from the pad, but is visible from the entire site. The site was spacious, but not as private as some of the others. There is some woods between this site and the sites on either side, but other sites are visible. The fire pits and picnic tables were staggered, so it created some distance to make it feel more private.

The campground as a whole, was very quiet. We stayed from Wednesday to Friday. The group next to us seemed a little rowdy when we first pulled in, but by 10:00 there was no noise anywhere near us.

Most sites seemed pretty level from side to side, but where we were, several had a slope from front to back. Away from the waterfront, most sites looked pretty level. The amount of space between sites varied from site to site. Some sites had woods on both sides, while others were pretty open. Some had nice large grassy areas, others were much smaller. Sites from 214-224 are in a cul de sac and are water front, but they were pretty close together with very little privacy between sites, if any. They are very close to the water though.

There are bathrooms and water scatter about, but from what I saw there was only 1 shower house.

Wal-mart and other shopping and restaurants were about 3 miles away. Park was easy to get to, only one turn for us off the highway. Lake was great for kayaking and paddleboarding. Very nice dog park in a different part of the park. There is a boat launch accessible from inside the campground.

Dump station has 2 lanes which was nice when checking out. Fresh water fill up was also located near the dump station.

    Cleveland/ Sudusky Jellystone Park

    Kids Paradise

Large campground with a nice mix of seasonal and overnighters. Clean common areas. Nice pool, camp store on site with a nice selection of camp gear. Snack bar with pizza, ice cream etc. Tons of planned activities for the kids. Movie nights, wibits (inflatable obstacle course on the pond), stocked pond, kayaks, Gaga Ball, RC track, jump pad, climbing wall etc etc etc!!

This is a yearly trip for us! Never disappoints.

    Cabins could be better

The bunk beds have very thin rv style bunk bed mattresses. And the master bed mattress was a weak memory foam. Needs to invest in better mattresses.

    KOA Lake Milton Berlin Lake

    Cabin

Last August rented Cabin. It was beautiful and very clean. The owners were great and very helpful. !! Cabins are a little high in price. No WiFi,. KOA should lower the prices due to that. Activities are great keeps the kids interested. KOA should have on all camping sites Life Guard if there is water sports involved.Game room was nice and clean.Change machine needs to stay stocked.Fishing lake was great. I think with full swing in Season they should offer more activities for adults too.Camp Store should be more orangized. Bathhouse was very clean!.Trash was picked up every day and the Park very clean.! We have booked another Cabin for May 2021. They have a limited rental on Life jacket s. Bring ur own.!

    Findley State Park Campground

    Organized Group Site 2

It was difficult to find pictures or reviews of the Findlay group sites. It honestly seemed to me that they didn't exist, so I thought I'd do the service of taking some pictures.

The group sites are away from the main campsites, so you should have plenty of space for your group to set up and enough distance between them to not disturb the peace if you have a large group. OGA2 is heavily forested, I'm not sure about OGA1. There are plenty of trees so both hammock and tent campers should be accommodated. The fire pit is large and there are 4 picnic tables.

The campsite is about 75 yards from the parking area, and there is a vault toilet right before the parking area.

    West Branch State Park Campground

    Love the Lake!

This state park has a lot to offer with the highlight being a large 2,650-lake that appeals to fishermen, boaters, and swimmers. The park is over 5,000 acres and not only has camping but hiking, volleyball, fishing, playgrounds, picnicking, hunting, horseback riding, and more.

The campground is divided into three loops with nearly 200 sites. Campsites include those with full hook-up (50 amp), electric only (50 amp), and some with no electric. This campground is suitable for everything from large RVs to tents. Sites and roads are paved and each site has a picnic table and fire pit. In loops where there is no water directly at the site, water spigots are scattered throughout. The restroom/bathhouses in our loop were really nice, modern, clean, and had laundry facilities which is a real plus at a state park campground. Campsites can be reserved online up to six months in advance. Since we were here in April, the campground was practically empty and getting a site was no problem. But, if you want one of the 29 full hook-up sites in the summer, you better book early.

We really enjoyed the hiking trails and being able to leave our campsite and be right on the trails. There are approximately 12 miles of hiking trails and an additional 20 miles that are open to horses and snowmobiles. (Be aware that hunting is permitted in certain areas.)

The park is about 15 miles from Cuyahoga Valley National Park which is a fantastic place to explore with a lot going on for the whole family! If you are interested in football, the National Football Hall of Fame is just down the road in Canton. The town of Hudson has a pretty, historic downtown with a fun old soda fountain.

We would definitely stay at this campground again. It was a perfect place to stay while visiting family in the nearby town of Hudson. Loved having a paved site with full hook-ups especially since there was a lot of rain while we were there. The lake was perfect for kayaking and had we been able to stay longer we would have spent more time on the water.
