Nice KOA with all the amenities you would expect. More cabins to choose from than most and about 4 miles from shopping. Nice fishing ponds and about 1/2 mile from Mingo Falls.

Perfect primitive camping spots. There are streams near bottom of the mountain and the road does loop all the way around. The second entrance is about 9 miles from the first on the main road (276) which is right before cradle of forestry. We decided to go to the top. Water does run off from the top…

First solo overnight backpacking trip at CAT Gap Loop. Awesome
Huge campground, lots of sites to accommodate every type of camper. The sites are nice, spacious and level. The staff is very friendly. It’s busy all the time so reserve early. The guy boy complaint is the road noise from the interstate and state highways.
This is a basic campground on the French broad river in Asheville nc. The tent site is nice. The noise off the highway is pretty annoying but if you need a cheap simple spot to pitch a tent go for it.
The campground is beautiful. Spacious sites. Two fishing ponds where we caught lots of bass. Our site was right on the creek and the sounds were soothing at night as we fell asleep. We loved Camping at Timberlake and we plan to return.
By the time I got around booking my trip, it was pretty slim pickings within the national park boundaries.
I was fortunately able to snag a few nights here in Smokemont, but was unfortunately placed RIGHT next to the bathroom. While the bathroom is highly trafficked, it actually wasn’t that bad…

We only stayed for one night and we had a pull through site right by the entrance which was perfect for us with a fifth wheel. All of the other sites looked really complicated to get into. I would definitely ask questions about your site before arriving. Kids play area is pretty basic, nothing too…
Years ago, my wife and I stayed at this campground in a cabin beside Raven Fork River. If I’m not mistaken, the one we were at this time was either the same cabin or one close to it. It is perfectly situated beside the river. There are several types of cabins (Kamping Kabins) with various…

This is a wonderful family campground with lots of activities for kids including tubing, trout fishing, swimming, and an arcade. But the most amazing part was that we saw Synchronous fire flies in late July. It was a once in a lifetime experience!
Awesome place up in the mountains
Great spot. Clean bathrooms and fire pits. Very friendly camp host that has/had firewood available to guests. With a recommended donation box. Would def come back here again
Smokemont isn't nearly as good a Campground as Elkmont, but not to say it isn't a really good place to stay. It's clean and well kept. Sites are close together with little to no privacy. The river running through the campground makes up for it. We always see a lot of wildlife in the fields near…

When we got to check in our spot we booked weeks in advance we’re changed and was given a smaller spot. The bathrooms weren’t clean and all and the spot numbers were hard to find. Other than that it was still a pretty good one night stay for our group. The power and water hookups were close even…
Came here after escaping Van Hook Glade in Highlands. Most of the sites are occupied by permanent seasonal residents. They are all very nice people. We had a mishap arriving which caused damage to our trailer. 3 people including the owner rushed to help us. Quiet. Riverside spots. Would not have…
