Hidden gem with amazing views of Pilot Mountain

This campground has amazing views of Pilot Mountain, very spacious camp sites that are well maintained, and excellent staff that ensure you have a wonderful camping experience. We had reserved RV4 online but when we arrived the owner asked if we would like RV1(FHU) which is shaded with a wonderful view of Pilot Mountain so of course we took him up on the offer. This is a very relaxing spot to sit by the firepit and watch the sun set on the mountain. We had daily visits from Cindy, one of two campground dogs, who made our stay even more enjoyable. We will be coming back to camp here again when in the area and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from the crowded campgrounds to enjoy nature. Additional note: Verizon worked well at this site, not sure of the signal quality at the other sites down the hill.

Peaceful beautiful

We stayed in site 31 with our van camper.  We used a adaptor for 20V electric, no problems.  Shade trees. We use the bathroom, clean, hot water.  Lots of countryside to walk.

Wonderful open spot

The only reason I am not giving it a five has nothing to do with the campground, but the fact there is a fireman in place. It’s beautiful and we are the only people here. I wish there was more lighting because it is creepy at night, but it’s also a campground and probably preferred by mostly everyone. Site 43!

Went on a Tuesday

Decided to get out of town for the night and tossed a dart at the board. Landed here and it was exactly what I needed. The owner of the property greeted me, drove me to my site (which had one of the best views of the mountain of any park around…right from my campsite), help me solve a dog leash emergency, and then finally a full tour of the property.

I’m a huge music fan and they used to do fun multi stage events there!

Highly recommend

Can’t Go Wrong!!

This was my first trip in my newly converted van, and it was more than I had hoped. Amazing views, clean bathrooms, hot showers, quiet neighbors, and a welcoming owner!! I have no complaints! If you’re in the area, definitely check it out. I would say it’s the best view of the mountain there is. Can’t say enough how great it was. Will definitely return!

Stay here, you won’t regret it. The owner is the best. He’s out helping folks all day long and never leaves anyone in need.

Great people all around!

Back to Nature.....You’ll Love It

Jomeokee Campground is a well cared for small campground and has such a calming and peaceful natural vibe. If you like “natural” “real” campgrounds without all the asphalt and concrete, you will love this one. I camp to get out into nature.

The trees, the adjacent pastures, the farm pond, the rolling hills, and the scenic views make this a great little campground. The bottom row of sites looks directly at Pilot Mtn in the distance. The sunsets are gorgeous.

The large grassy fields have lots of kids and adults playing ball and frisbee. They allow tent groups and everyone seems to be having a great time.

This is a very quiet campground at night. The camp host leads you in and makes sure you are situated in your site. Another camp host delivers firewood to your site if you place order.

The bath house is centrally located and is clean. They also have a dump station on the property.

The owner rides thru frequently and visits with campers. This campground is very pet friendly.

We were here in early Sept 2020 and in site 51

Million dollar view!

This campground is full of gorgeous trees and a gorgeous view of Pilot Mountain. We arrived after dark and found it way too hard to navigate through the trees. We called the owner and he took us to a pull through site, which we greatly appreciated after traveling all day. Definitely book those spots if you have a big RV. In the morning we were greeted by the owners dog who was such a welcomed addition, our kids loved her. The dirt road to get to the sites and close trees were hard for us to navigate with such a big rig but that was partly because it was dark.

In the shadow of the Great Guide.

Overall this is on the keeper list. I found this campsite on line looking for places to stay while hiking sections of the MST. Took a shot and was very pleased with the result.

The first thing to note is that there are new, larger, spaces in the works closer to the entrance with (what looks to me like) sewer hookups. It is good to know that the owners are making improvements and it might be different when you get here.

I stayed in the wooded lots and these are definitely for tents or small trailers. The spots are nice, if not perfectly level and a little close together. Of course that is really only a problem if you have noisy neighbors, which I didn't. The campground looked full over the weekend but wasn't overly noisy. I attribute that also to the beautiful large open fields where all the all the children ran free.

The bath house was very similar to the standard state park setup. It is a cinder block building with a few shower stalls, toilet stalls and sinks with mirrors. Not fancy but definitely clean and functional.

I would definitely come back again and I recommend this camp ground.

Gorgeous open space, music venue, great views - tough road!

Jomeokee Campground is located in Pinnacle NC, near Pilot Mountain NC - and has a great view of Pilot Mountain from many of the campsites.  This campground is set back off the road, quite a ways, which makes it nice and quiet from road traffic, though you can hear trucks rumble in the night on 52.

The fields and the grassy areas are goregous - leaving the kids to run and explore and watch fireflies.  Yet many of the campsites are uneven and picnic tables are in need of repairs.  You can find a nice campsite (shown below) when you pull through the one way road which left us wondering about our alignment!

The campground owner was very friendly and kind - and the sunset was fantastic!  Hiking in Pilot Mountain State Park is just minutes away and the views from the top can't be beat!
