Hidden gem with amazing views of Pilot Mountain

This campground has amazing views of Pilot Mountain, very spacious camp sites that are well maintained, and excellent staff that ensure you have a wonderful camping experience. We had reserved RV4 online but when we arrived the owner asked if we would like RV1(FHU) which is shaded with a wonderful view of Pilot Mountain so of course we took him up on the offer. This is a very relaxing spot to sit by the firepit and watch the sun set on the mountain. We had daily visits from Cindy, one of two campground dogs, who made our stay even more enjoyable. We will be coming back to camp here again when in the area and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from the crowded campgrounds to enjoy nature. Additional note: Verizon worked well at this site, not sure of the signal quality at the other sites down the hill.

Good location for hiking

The campground is in a wonderful location for hiking the area’s numerous waterfalls and exploring Brevard. The campground was well maintained. As stated in prior reviews choose your site carefully as some loops would be very tight for large RVs to navigate and have overhanding tree branches. We stayed in the Sycamore loop which appeared to accommodate bigger RVs. Also not all sites have electricity and none have water, each loop has a water hydrant. I would have given the campground a higher rating except the dump station did not have water to flush our tanks. Upon checking out we were told the water was turned off at the dump station and we would need to go to the Sycamore loop to get water to flush our tank then drive back to the dump site. There was nothing posted to instruct campers this would be necessary.

Lots of good places to eat in downtown Brevard- Square Root & Morning Social, several good breweries, Ingles is the best place for groceries. Cellar service for Verizon and ATT was one bar at best during our stay at the campground.

Good campground with hiking

We stayed at #86 which was off the main campground overlooking the lake. The site was perfect for our 23 ft RV but pay attention to the site size as some RVs had issues getting their larger RVs in their sites with the road/site layout. Overall we loved the campground and view of the water. The only negative about our site would be traffic noise from the nearby bridge.
