Super Clean

Spent a month here. Had a nice end spot that allowed for a sneak peak of the mountains. Nicely laid out in levels that were nice. Great location for checking out the area too. Wifi worked fine. As did the cable.

Big Rig Friendly

This campground is probably 90% big rigs. It’s a huge campground with 2 lakes, playground, RV store and shelter houses. There is only one shower house with one shower and two toilets on each side. Pet friendly on leash. Close to Mount Airy for those over 60 who want a trip down Memory Lane.

Nice campground

Campground was nice, staff was helpful.

Site was level. Wifi was decent.

Only complaints it was near interstate traffic. The noise didn't keep us up at so it was tolerable. I was in site 95. Sites in other sections may have better.

Also there was only trash cans in the front of the park near the office. This made it inconvenient picking up after my dogs.

Fantastic!!

This place will stay on our list for years to come! Very friendly staff and they had a camp store that rivaled camping world, which worked out for us because we ended up needing a specific part while traveling through. Sites are spacious and full hu. Super easy drive into “Mayberry” and you HAVE to go!

Mayberry, one of our favorites

Great family friendly, pet loving campground. Most sites are spacious, all rv sites have full hookups. There are a few tent sites close to office. We have been coming to this campground for 6 years now. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I like a campground that allows you to book a specific site, we're booked for 3 separate trips for 2022. So much to do in surrounding area, especially if you are a fan of Andy Griffith. The town of Mt. Airy has a variety of fast food places as well as many varied restaurants and BBQ's as well. A few of the bigger stores, walmart, lowes, all right in town. Visiting downtown 'mayberry' is a must if you remember the TV show. Book a ride in the police car. Over the years we have found and used veterinarian in town, as well as a great rv store. Might be small, but that store has helped us many times over the years. The Mayberry campground has so much going on, you really don't have to leave camp. Just sit back and relax. Bennie, his daughters and staff will make sure your stay is great. Camp is open year round. We have been there summer, fall and winter. We love this campground.

Friendly staff, large, clean campground

Very nice campground, very friendly. Spaces are not on top of each other, easy to get in and out of and can accommodate the largest of rigs. Restrooms and laundry facilities were nice, they have some playgrounds and lakes for fishing. Being next to the interstate the noise wasn’t as bad as we thought it was going to be, we weren’t woke up at night.

We survived Winter Storm Izzy 😂 (stayed 14 Jan - 17 Jan 2022) no issues with anything. They cover their hose pipes with a plastic barrel and have a work light inside as well. Our camper doesn’t have a cable hookup but we do have a powered antenna and once it finished scanning, we got 8 channels, the first thing to pop up was the Andy Griffith Show. We got a little chuckle out of that, wasn’t expecting that to be the first thing to pop up.

We like Mt. Airy because of the Andy Griffith history but also because of Miss Angels Heavenly Pies. We spent over $50 on pies. Large, unique selection of pies and other scrumptious goodies. We will be back when it’s warmer so we can better take in more of the Andy Griffith sites.

Room With View

Mayberry is big rig friendly even though it is set on a rolling hill/mountain. All sites are gravel and clean.

The campground doesn't have much to do, but it is a great place to stop a couple of nights to see Mayberry (My. Airy) and all the history of the Andy Griffith show.

Never Again

We booked a full week here in June. Never again.

Let me start with the pros...the staff is attentive and always working. The pond is nice with the ducks swimming around. Great location to thenwineries.

Cons:

There are no trees to be found near the sites, and in the heat of summer you need some shade. They park full size rigs in spots that shouldn't have anything over 26' feet in it. The sites that you back into have an over hang and creates a huge drop down. If you don't have additional wood or cement blocks, you can't stabilize your trailer. Every camper in our area was complaining about that and some actually had their stabilizers out as far as they could go. Some campers went out to buy things to step onto otherwise your step out of the camper was a jump.  The campground is also close to the highway so the noise is louder than other areas.

One of the workers chased the ducks around the pond in his golf cart one day, not cool.

Nice Place For Overnight

Very nice private campground for overnight RV stay. Full hookups, clean and level spaces. Neighbors are close, but not too bad. Little shade, no swimming, nothing much here. A couple catch & release ponds.

Disappointing

Sites are very close together with just a small spot of outdoor personal space. The campground sits on a hillside with multiple gravel roads. Although the landscaping is nice, there’s no trees near any campsites for shade. It’s right near the main highway which is convenient, but also noisy. No picnic benches on the sites unless you rent one and $10 to rent a fire ring. There’s 2 good-sized ponds for catch and release and also 2 kids playgrounds. There’s on bathhouse near the main entrance as well as laundry facilities. This is an okay place to stay if you plan on not spending much time in the campground.

Beautiful Campground

Beautiful location, 20 mins from Pilot Mountain, 5 minutes from Mt Airy. The staff was very friendly and truly cared to make sure your stay was going to be a good one. This was my first time ever camping in a fifth wheel, and I felt very comfortable throughout my stay. My RV neighbors were great and very courteous. I’m planning on another trip to this campground on the near future.

What a great place to camp!

This is a great park! The staff are all nice and friendly, and the park is very well laid out and clean. You got full hookups, nice level sites, and two playgrounds. This place is full on the weekends so reserve in advance.

Also, the Mt. Airy town is nice to visit. You are close to all the amenities when staying here. Check out the Andy Griffith museum, Main Street, and the granite quarry.

Where is Andy ?

We were close to Mayberry but we were on our way to Florida for a rocket launch (subsequently cancelled). Campground was nice, clean and well kept! The checkin was easy BUT we had to have CASH. As Passport America members, the $40 rate was only $20! We would stay here again, for sure.
