Great camping beautiful and quiet
This campground is small but quiet and right on the water. They sell firewood right up the road or you can just visit the Amish for wood scraps. Favorite thing is the family of owls that inhabit the trees that you see every night.
I headed up to Wellesley Island state park for the long Thanksgiving weekend with three teenagers (one girl and two boys). We rented cottage A, which was clean, spacious, warm and fully stocked with everything we needed. The fire pit outside was the only disappointment as it was well below ground…

Primitive site on the beautiful south eastern end of Stillwater. A short hike in to a great beach for swimming or paddling.
We’ve stayed here many times in tents and hammock tents. The swimming is fantastic- water is clean and clear.
Because you can’t make a reservation here sometimes there’s…

This is a small primitive site. No services, but a very beautiful spot. There’s a small fire ring, and access to the lake for swimming or fishing.
Sunday lake has always been lovely and quiet and a great place to take youth campers.
Take Stillwater rd. to McCarty road, the trail is 0.3…
Soft Maple is a truly gorgeous small campground. Only about a dozen sites or so, first come first serve. Level sites for RVs or tent or hammock camping. Each site has a nice space with fire ring and picnic table. The beach is lovely and clean. There’s boat access for canoes and kayaks as this is…

This campgrounds is used by my family and friends for years for a fishing tournament. I don't often attend but I did this year. The bathrooms didn't look clean at all. At best, they look like they are cleaned weekly. The toilet seats looked like they were stained from lack of proper cleaning. …
Beaver Camp (or, officially Adirondack Mennonite Camping Assoc.), is a classic summer youth sleep-away camp on Beaver Lake. Sleeping in cabins with bunk beds, swimming, canoes, and a high ropes course, gathering around the campfire to end the day- Beaver Camp has it all.
Weekend and week long…
This campground is massive and the park is beautiful. We stayed in the C loop at site # The site was large enough to fit our 27’ camper and had ample room off the side for entertaining. (We were able to set up 2 canopies, have our awning fully extended, set up a 6 person tent, an area for the kids…

Beautiful Grounds, Flowers, Clean Rest Rooms and Showers. Great Views. Friendly and Helpful State Park Workers! We have booked for next year! Counting the Days!!!
Small campground with 30+ sites. Grass sites with plenty of trees for shade.
There's little undergrowth between sites for privacy but spacious sites makes up for it. We found a site on the edge for good privacy.
Sites are well maintained. Bath facilities need maintenance.
We have never heard of this place and had always stayed at Wellesley Island when headed up to the 1,000 Islands. Took a chance and it didn't disappoint.
Swimming hole was nice and relaxing. Plenty of sand for the kids to play in and the water was warmer than expected.
We stayed in the…
The state park is really nice, very natural with beautiful views of the St Lawrence River but the beach needs to be cleaned up and the bathrooms are disgusting. There’s one small open field that has full hookups otherwise it’s power only.
We love coming to Higley. Always at least once a year. Really nice sites that are private and easy to back into. Great playground for the kids, hiking trails and more. I also cross country ski in the winter and the trails are fabulous!
NYS may get tons of flack for its politics and politicians. However they're doing it all correct in their state parks. This park is amazing. The views of the ST. LAWRENCE River are amazing. You're around some of the best fishing in the country. We'll. Manicured campground. It's huge by the way.…
