Peaceful, beautiful wooded private sites

My husband candy I went for work. Stayed there from Sunday through Thursday’s. First booked a site without electric. YES THEY HAVE 3 loops with electric. While driving there I took a peak online to find that they had one site that had come available with electric. We immediately called and…

Shhh….

One of my favorite parks ever. Absolutely perfect. Water views, cheap good firewood, big private sites and brand new bathhouses.

Small, quiet and fantastic!

Jacques Cartier State Park is a model which most parks should follow.  The park is unbelievably well kept.  The sites are large with some located with waterfront (St. Lawrence River).  A boat launch in the park may it easy for boaters.  A beach/swimming area is great for the whole family.  The park…

Beautiful park

Great fishing from almost every part of this park. Two beaches to swim. Almost every campsite is on the water. It’s so nice it’s hard to reserve, because people grab it nine months in advance! Wonderful!

Tucked away and peaceful

This campground is small but quiet and right on the water. They sell firewood right up the road or you can just visit the Amish for wood scraps. Favorite thing is the family of owls that inhabit the trees that you see every night.

Sleepaway camp, family camp, day use

Beaver Camp (or, officially Adirondack Mennonite Camping Assoc.), is a classic summer youth sleep-away camp on Beaver Lake. Sleeping in cabins with bunk beds, swimming, canoes, and a high ropes course, gathering around the campfire to end the day- Beaver Camp has it all.

Weekend and week long…

Grass sites with plenty of trees for shade

Small campground with 30+ sites. Grass sites with plenty of trees for shade.

There's little undergrowth between sites for privacy but spacious sites makes up for it. We found a site on the edge for good privacy.

Sites are well maintained. Bath facilities need maintenance.

Small Campground but a Great Place!

We have never heard of this place and had always stayed at Wellesley Island when headed up to the 1,000 Islands. Took a chance and it didn't disappoint.

Swimming hole was nice and relaxing. Plenty of sand for the kids to play in and the water was warmer than expected.

We stayed in the…

Great park!

We love coming to Higley. Always at least once a year. Really nice sites that are private and easy to back into. Great playground for the kids, hiking trails and more. I also cross country ski in the winter and the trails are fabulous!

Open, tightly packed, busy campground

Beggars can’t be choosers and when you’re winging it and it happens to be Labor Day weekend, you take what you can get. This place is not my ideal... It’s a large campground that’s well kept, well maintained with good facilities and is located on the St.Lawrence River. However, sites are tightly…

Beautiful but crowded

We love Coles Creek because we have two little ones and they are all about riding their tricycles around the grounds. People drive super slow and watch for kids, so that’s great. There is swimming in a few places. The water is chilly but refreshing. There are some waterfront sites that are…
