Taos Junction

Dirt road clearings branch off Forest Road 96 in this dispersed camping area within Carson National Forest. Campers access small pull-off spots by staying left at the initial Y-junction after leaving the paved road. The sites offer seclusion but lack scenic views and cell phone coverage.

One reviewer notes that locals sometimes use the area for parties and trash burning, creating an inconsistent atmosphere. The remote location provides quiet camping away from developed facilities, though campers should expect minimal amenities and prepare for complete self-sufficiency. Those seeking additional options can explore dispersed spots outside Carson National Forest throughout the broader region.

Sandy road

Stay to the left when you first get on the dirt road it turns into a Y right away. These spots are just little clearings off the dirt road. It’s very secluded but has no view or cell signal. The locals like to party and burn trash here. Has a strange vibe
