A bumpy, unpaved road leads to this dispersed BLM site at the edge of the Rio Grande Gorge, where campers get open sightlines toward the canyon and the mountains beyond. Fire rings are on-site, and the low shrubby vegetation provides some natural separation between sites without blocking views. RVs occasionally park here and can crowd the area, so timing matters. Wet or windy conditions can make the access road difficult. Campers exploring northern New Mexico can find camping areas near Arroyo Hondo and the nearby Rio Grande Rivercamp by John Dunn Bridge along the same stretch of gorge. Cell service is available. Arrive in dry weather.
