Carson National Forest manages this dispersed camping area along Forest Trail 9 (FT9), where drive-in access puts campers on a plateau edge overlooking the Rio Grande. Sites are self-selected. Established rock fire rings exist at some spots, and campfires are permitted. Rio Grande del Norte National Monument sits just to the south, making this a practical base for exploring the broader monument corridor. Campers who prefer a designated site can find campgrounds near San Cristobal with more developed infrastructure.
