El Vado Lake State Park Campground, near Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico, is a fantastic spot for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors with a touch of comfort. With sites that are nicely spaced out, you can kick back and relax without feeling crowded, even during the busier months.

This campground offers electric hookups and drinking water, making it a convenient choice for RV campers. Great place

$10 for non-electric sites. $14 for electric sites. Sites are well spaced apart. Not very busy, even in the month of August. Showers, etc. Would definitely come again.

Dispersed Lakeside sites

Down HWY 322, there are 3 primitive sites along side the El Vade Lake. Well marked and easy to find. No facilities. First come first serve, but we didn't see a soul the whole weekend. Sites aren't well established, so you will have to clear a spot. Road is pretty rough and narrow. There is a walk to the lake with no paths. Lots of weeds and plants that will stick to you and your pups. Little shade available. Make sure to grab a permit and have cash - cost is $10 a night per car.
