Great weekend

Beautiful place to camp. Free campground with plenty of sites. Found a nice trail. Toilets and campground very clean

Beautiful Mountain lake

Definitely need an all terrain vehicle for the drive up to lake. Rough dirt road. Got a flat tire Beautiful mountain lake. No luck fishing.

Nice hiking trail. Can hike to Heart Lake. 9 mile round trip hike. Saw quite a few backpackers

Campgrounds undeveloped. Very crowded. Lots of traffic throughout the day. Game and fish asked us for our fishing licenses

Mesa

Nice undeveloped spot we found Had picnic table and fire pit. There were a few sites with pits. Beautiful view and very peaceful.

The 2 nights we stayed got very windy but we were camping in a site with few trees for wind barrier. They were several standalone pit toilets.

Really nice

Stayed here July 12-14,2019. There were quite a few sites available late Friday afternoon. Short walk to lake. Very well kept. Saw several deer and caught a few fish. Definitely worth the drive from Albuquerque

Remote campground

Enjoyed the hiking trails. Definitely difficult in a car. We made it barely. A nice remote campground. Saw quite a few backpackers   Looking forward to camping there again this year now that we have a truck

Unbelievable

Was there September 9-11, 2019. Best camping trip so far. Camped away from everyone up the hill Had an Elk come into camp about 15 yards from me. Was so majestic She stood there and looked at me what seemed like a long time

Was awaken by the sounds of Elk boggling. Amazing. Caught several Fish and enjoyed them for dinner. Had such a great time went back in October to celebrate my birthday

Nice weekend

Nice campsite. Camp hosts were really nice. No luck fishing. Close to Elk Mountain and Hermits Peak for hiking Looking forward to going again this year

La Junta

Plenty of campsites. Located by the river. No luck fishing though Quite a few ATVs around. Only 2 miles to Sipaupu with a nice little store with firewood and necessities.
