Best RV Parks & Resorts near Valdez, NM

Very nice RV resort! Full hookup, concrete level pads, huge pull thru sites, great for large rigs. A lot of amenities: playground, tennis courts, hot tub, pool, clubhouse. Very polite and attentive personnel! Only a few miles (10min driving) from the ski slopes. If winter camping - heated water hose is highly recommended! During especially chilly nights be prepared to fill up your fresh water tank and turn off and disconnect the hose from the external water supply! If it is frozen overnight, you will be subject to $150 fee.

Taos RV Park is a work in progress. It's not finished yet, but when it is, it should be very nice indeed. Congrats for getting the most important things done first: full hook up sites, clean, new bathrooms with roomy showers. Sites are not particularly level, signage is unlit and hard to see from the street. The office, pavilion and Airbnb are all under construction. It's located south of Taos on the main drag, hence NOISY. I say, watch this space for more improvements.

This review is for the Angel Fire RV Resort. This is one thing to of the most beautiful RV resorts where we’ve ever stayed. It’s the Four Seasons of RV resorts. It sits at the base of a mountain pass with beautiful views.

The hot tub is clean and also has beautiful views. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry are more beautiful than those found in the average home.

Two “lodge” buildings provide space for activities such as movies for kids and adults. They make it a point to connect campers who want to meet others staying in the park with social evens such as “wake up waffles”.

They have an arrangement that allows campers to use recreational facilities in town such as the pool. Walk around the lake, rent a canoe, kids activities (bungie bouncing, rock climbing).

RV resort. On the expensive side, but very nice park. Spacious sites, great views of surrounding mountains. All RVs must be self contained (kitchen, bathroom, shower, etc.). Free activities each night at club house. Close to Taos and various ski resorts in area.

This is the best rv park in Red River. The river runs right through the park. There is a trout pond, playground, pavilion with live music on most Fridays during the summer and they also have condos and cabins. The staff is so helpful and friendly. If you want to get out of the heat of the summer this is the place to be. Red River is 8,750’ above sea level in the mountains. Daytime temp is in the 70°s and nights are in the 50°s all summer long.

We needed a spot to stay and found a happy location at Hikers Cimarron Inn & RV Park. Their reservation system on their website was easy to use and navigate. The RV spots are level gravel, sites are close together with minimal privacy but convenient to grocery store and restaurants - within a short walk. Owners were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms had showers and were clean but spartan and totally functional.

Very large rv park with full hookups, showers, laundry, and community building. Was not busy when we were here, so we did not have anyone next to us, but the sites are very close to each other. The lake and boat launch are just down the road. Set off the main highway enough that you don't hear alot of traffic noise. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Wonderful views of the mountains.

Las Petacas is just east of Taos on Highway 64. The campground is located just a few feet from the highway along a small creek. The campground has about 15 sites located along the creek with some privacy between sites. You should be able to find a site here even during summer peak season. This site is in the Carson National Forest and does have a camp host. The highlight during our visit was a crazy two story hippy bus. I have never seen anything quite like this bus during our two years on the road. Anyway the toilets are clean and sites are maintained. This is a good option if your looking to get close to Taos or doing some hiking in the Carson Forest. The two campers here were local long term visitors. This is a good option if you are traveling through and need a easy to access site.

Dirt road leading up to campground was totally drivable but heavily washboarded at the beginning, so be advised if you're towing.  Plenty of room for my 25ft travel trailer and larger rigs should be okay as well.

No water, power, or dump station, but there are individual garbage containers at each site.  As others have said, you can get water at the North Lake campground, but there's a pass you'll need to buy to get in.  I think it was $20 bucks for a year, and gets you access to a few other recreation areas further north.

Seems like a lot of people come to the campground for day use just to hang and look out at the lake.  If you're staying long term, I'd avoid the overlook sites as there will be noise and traffic right there.  

I stayed at one of the sites around the back which looks out at the mountains - not a bad view.

$9 per day when I was there.

4 star because the office lady was very nice. This place has converted to exclusively taking motorhomes and 5th wheel campers only. So for those of us doing the dirtbag/van life/teardrop camper thing to go snowboarding/skiing/bike park this RV park is not an option. The office lady suggested trying Monte Verde, I will investigate and update!! In summer there are other state parks and national forest campgrounds within reach of Angle Fire Resort.

Nice park nestled at the foot of the mountains and on the banks of the Red River. Nicely landscaped with two ponds and a river walk. Location is great for visiting Rio Grande del Norte NM and the Wild Rivers Recreation Area. Just north of Taos too. Nicely shaded, level sites with full hookups. Nice picnic table and grill. Might be a little tight for big rigs, but my little Casita was quite happy. Very friendly folks in the office. Clean laundry and restroom. My site backed up to the river and the sound of the rushing water was the perfect lullaby.

We spent our maiden voyage as RVers at this campground and were blown away by how nice the place is. It’s definitely way better than I imagined an RV park could be. Everything is pristine including the bathrooms and showers. The landscaping is impeccable and the space between spots pretty spacious. Hookups were also pristine. Highly recommend putting this on your list to stay at.

Stayed here for a weekend, this place is tucked away and quiet. Spots are well spaced and grass all around. The river runs through the park.

They have the park devided up well with space for even the bigger rv's they have a nice fenced dog park to let your dogs run free for a bit. Full hook ups shade trees and a fare amount of spots that back right up to the river, wifi throughout the park that is spotty at best and after one week they do charge for it Verizon was 4G the whole time.

Staff is super friendly and helpful, they have wood to purchase for fires but it is not covered and feels fresh cut so its not dried you will more than likely smoke out the camp site it's also 10.00 for a bundle which is pricey, but they deliver it to your camp. The gate coming into the park is tight so when the gentleman says make a lazy turn he means a REAL lazy turn. Would definatly come back here again

Brought my teardrop camper to do a couple days at Angel Fire. RV park is about 5min from the AF parking lot. Multiple hookup options can accommodate any size camper. Pull thru and back in spaces. Water at site. Bathroom/Shower house small but very clean. Self check-in (covid) was simple. It was a mid-week, winter stay so they were very chill and not strict about check-in/out. That being said, don't be a jerk to them either. Will definitely stay again.

Nice small ish RV park, well maintained. Nice sized spots and vegetation between sites.

Nice rv park..not a lot of space between spots but you have lots to do beside sit at rv..owners are awesome and always helping rvers..

About 5 minutes to downtown. Best wifi I've ever had in an RV Park. Even a little bit of shade.
