Bit disappointed

So... luckily we have Jeep. The road up to the lake is pretty rocky so we had to air down our tires so that we don’t get back aches after our day 4x4 goose lake trail getaway. The road is not tricky but just too many sharp rocks/pebbles. We were able to find a dispersed campsite by the cliff and had an amazing view of valley (not the lake). A short hike to the lake was pleasant. Nothing spectacular during late October. Bathroom at the parking lot was definitely a plus. Be ready for all wheel drive.

A Nice Area

A vehicle with off-road capabilities is recommended if you want to reach this campground. While not impossible with a regular sedan, it does take navigating up some unpaved switchbacks. The campsites here are undeveloped but there are picnic tables. Also most of the sites are on some sort of slope. The area is surprisingly busy and the parking lot often becomes pretty crowded, but not full, by morning. The lake offers a good view and there is some hiking nearby. A good spot if you want some more dispersed style camping near a lake.

Beautiful Mountain lake

Definitely need an all terrain vehicle for the drive up to lake. Rough dirt road. Got a flat tire Beautiful mountain lake. No luck fishing.

Nice hiking trail. Can hike to Heart Lake. 9 mile round trip hike. Saw quite a few backpackers

Campgrounds undeveloped. Very crowded. Lots of traffic throughout the day. Game and fish asked us for our fishing licenses

Crowded Campground, Beautiful Lake

We took four teenage girls for a weekend of camping and fishing. We pulled right in and grabbed the last spot in the area; the challenge was finding enough flat land for three tents. We managed and created quite a nice little spot.

We spent most of our time on the water in kayaks, canoes and floating on inflatable flamingos. There were a lot of people fishing, so we tried to maintain a low noise level.

The area was absolutely gorgeous. The water was so clear, you could see to the bottom in most parts of the tiny lake. The marsh on the east end provided plenty of bugs and worms for bait. The lake provided enough trout for a dinner.

Beautiful area, but not much as far as camping

This place seems like more of a day use area that has some fire rings and picnic tables. As best we could tell, there weren't any great tent camp sites, so we just pulled up onto a ridge and dragged a table up. Perhaps better for campers & small RV's.

That said, the lake is gorgeous and there's a great hike up the riverbed.
