Managed by the Bureau of Land Management within the Taos Field Office, Big Arsenic Springs Campground sits at the rim of the Rio Grande Gorge, roughly 850 feet above the river. Spaces are limited. The campground provides drinking water, toilets, picnic tables, and firewood, with ADA accessibility and cell service noted by reviewers. Anglers use the rim access to hike down into the gorge for fly fishing. Little Arsenic Springs Campground lies less than a mile south. Pack extra water regardless of the on-site supply, and arrive early to secure one of the few available sites.
