Angel Fire RV Resort

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available and recommended at Angel Fire RV Resort, a full-hookup facility on US Highway 64 in northern New Mexico that runs $60 to $96 per night during its summer season. Sites accommodate rigs up to 50 feet and are paved, level, and concrete throughout. Electric, water, and sewer hookups are standard. The resort sits at the base of a mountain pass, with open sightlines toward the surrounding peaks visible from most sites.

Campers consistently describe the grounds as well-maintained and the sites as spacious, with reasonable separation between neighbors. The bathhouses draw frequent praise for their cleanliness and modern fixtures, and the hot tub is a regular highlight in reviews. Sam notes "spacious sites, great views of surrounding mountains," and several reviewers who stayed a week or more mention the nightly activities at the clubhouse, including fire pits and organized social events like morning waffles and s'mores nights, as reasons they extended their stays.

The resort's amenity list is extensive. Pickleball and bocce ball courts, a playground, a dog park, a putting range, and a walking path are all on-site. A laundry facility and WiFi are also available. Through an arrangement with the town, campers can access additional recreation in Angel Fire itself, including a lake walk, canoe rentals, and activities like bungee bouncing and rock climbing. Colorado C. describes the access to town amenities as a notable draw. The ski slopes are roughly ten minutes by car.

Winter campers should take note. When overnight temperatures drop significantly, water hoses can freeze, and the resort charges a fee if a frozen hose causes an issue. Reviewers recommend using a heated hose or filling the fresh water tank and disconnecting from the external supply before temperatures fall. Those exploring the broader area can browse campgrounds near Angel Fire for additional options, including Monte Verde RV Park and Campground a short distance southeast.

Note that GPS coordinates listed on some platforms may route to a different, dry campground at the ski resort with port-a-potties. The correct location for Angel Fire RV Resort is on US Highway 64, just west of Mountain View Boulevard. Campers who want a well-appointed base for exploring northern New Mexico will find the resort worth the planning.

Innaccurate Coordinates and location

The coordinates listed on "the dyrt" (36.38705487228697,-105.27684030781722) is actually a different campground, the Angel Fire Resort (the actual Ski and MTB resort) Campground, which is a "dry" campground with port-a-potties that is located on the corner of Vail Avenue and Squaw Valley Lane). This is a very different place and experience from the Angel Fire RV Resort.

If you go to Angel Fire RV Resort website, it lists the coordinates as 36.4237, -105.30983 and is located on US Hwy 64, just west of Mountain View Blvd.

Angel Fire RV Resort.

RV resort. On the expensive side, but very nice park. Spacious sites, great views of surrounding mountains. All RVs must be self contained (kitchen, bathroom, shower, etc.). Free activities each night at club house. Close to Taos and various ski resorts in area.

Spacious, clean, luxurious!

Very nice RV resort! Full hookup, concrete level pads, huge pull thru sites, great for large rigs. A lot of amenities: playground, tennis courts, hot tub, pool, clubhouse. Very polite and attentive personnel! Only a few miles (10min driving) from the ski slopes. If winter camping - heated water hose is highly recommended! During especially chilly nights be prepared to fill up your fresh water tank and turn off and disconnect the hose from the external water supply! If it is frozen overnight, you will be subject to $150 fee.

2021 Updates

4 star because the office lady was very nice. This place has converted to exclusively taking motorhomes and 5th wheel campers only. So for those of us doing the dirtbag/van life/teardrop camper thing to go snowboarding/skiing/bike park this RV park is not an option. The office lady suggested trying Monte Verde, I will investigate and update!! In summer there are other state parks and national forest campgrounds within reach of Angle Fire Resort.

Luxury RV resort with phenomenal views!

We visited here for a week in October and loved this area. The topography is unmatched! The RV sites were so beautiful and ample. We enjoyed the dog park with our furry buds and enjoyed the hikes around AF. So much to do in this area. Some of it was shut down during the pandemic, but this place is top notch!!

Can’t wait to come back

The views from the park are beautiful, and the park landscaping is equally wonderful. The spots are paved and level with decent space between the spots. The amenities are also great - they have pickleball, bocce ball, a playground, dog park, nice laundry and RR/showers. They also had fun activities (even during COVID) like weekend morning waffles and Friday night s’mores. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Fantastic place

We spent our maiden voyage as RVers at this campground and were blown away by how nice the place is. It’s definitely way better than I imagined an RV park could be. Everything is pristine including the bathrooms and showers. The landscaping is impeccable and the space between spots pretty spacious. Hookups were also pristine. Highly recommend putting this on your list to stay at.

Angel Fire RV Resort

This review is for the Angel Fire RV Resort. This is one thing to of the most beautiful RV resorts where we’ve ever stayed. It’s the Four Seasons of RV resorts. It sits at the base of a mountain pass with beautiful views.

The hot tub is clean and also has beautiful views. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry are more beautiful than those found in the average home.

Two “lodge” buildings provide space for activities such as movies for kids and adults. They make it a point to connect campers who want to meet others staying in the park with social evens such as “wake up waffles”.

They have an arrangement that allows campers to use recreational facilities in town such as the pool. Walk around the lake, rent a canoe, kids activities (bungie bouncing, rock climbing).

Walking distance to Angel Fire Bike Park

Small little campground with basic amenities including port-a-potties (well lit at night), garbage cans, and a few picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Nice flat spots...dog friendly. No fires or RVs longer than 19ft. Not reservable so get there early to get primo spot. Walking distance to coffee, shops, and restaurants but still tucked away in quiet enough location.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to stay at Angel Fire RV Resort?

Angel Fire RV Resort is on the premium end of the price spectrum, reflecting its high-end amenities and services. While specific rates vary by season and site type, visitors describe it as somewhat expensive but worth the investment for the quality provided. The resort offers full hookup sites with concrete level pads and spacious pull-through options that can accommodate large rigs. For current pricing, it's best to contact the resort directly as rates may change seasonally, especially during peak ski season or summer months.

How does Angel Fire RV Resort compare to camping options in Taos, New Mexico?

Angel Fire RV Resort stands out from Taos area camping options as a premium, resort-style experience with full amenities.
