Faywood is a gem!
Beautiful place with GREAT hot springs, lovely grounds, and reasonable rates. Friendly staff, low-key atmosphere. There are small cabins, tent and RV sites. No restaurant. The clothing- optional mineral water pools are delightful. Highly recommended!

Loving the quiet beauty
Certainly not big rig friendly, we have a 30 ft motorhome. Was to big for the pull thru we booked, but were able to change our site to 30 ft back in site. They have shelters at every site, but many to close to campsite. Have 50 amp service, and some pretty awesome views of mountains, lake view, and desert views out or bedroom windows. Water and electric only, but has dump site. Not much for cell service here at state park.

Nice, down to earth KOA
We don't usually stay at KOA's, largely because we like to be out a bit from the crowd. The owners here accommodated us nicely with a nice site up in a corner. I'm sure the campground is full in season but it was about three quarters full when we were there. Their showers were clean and well kept, the staff was friendly and helpful and they had just installed nice new washers and dryers while we were there. They were redoing the pool and it looked great, even though it wasn't ready to swim in yet. The campground is close to town, restaurants, grocery stores and anything else you'd need while in the Silver City area and yet we enjoyed peace and quiet the entire time.

General: A small section with hookups (laid out more like a typical RV park), but the majority of the campground is nestled in between rock formations with no utilities.
Site Quality: Because the sites are located in and around the rocks, each site is different. Some have shorter driveways, some are pull-through, and some are completely hidden among the rocks. Sites have many amenities: fire pit, large picnic table, bench(es), and most are very spacious.
Bath/Shower house: Located by the visitor center, there are bathrooms with flush toilets and showers; they were clean. Sprinkled throughout the campground are pit toilets that were also very clean.
Activities/Amenities: There are several trails, an observatory, and a botanical garden (although not much was in bloom when we were there).
This was our second or possibly third time here in the last nine years (coincidentally in the same site twice!), and it is one of our top ten favorite campgrounds.

Nice spot for showers and laundry 🚿🧺
The spot we were in was great in every way other than hearing the road sounds. The shower was great, bathroom clean, the laundry room great, easy to back the trailer in and hookup, everything was perfect other than noise. We paid $30 for a night so we could shower and wash clothes which worked out great. It was a little annoying that we couldn't stay more than one night because we are in a popup camper but I'm not surprised since it's a common attitude in the RV community lately. Also nothing against the lady who helped us, I'm sure it's not her personal opinion about us only staying a day. There were a lot of obvious long term residents as well but nobody gave us any issues and everyone was nice. 😊 We loved the way the park was decorated with the gardens and a very homey feel. 🪴🌴🦎

Well kept and central
we have absolutely loved it here and spent a few days exploring the area visiting some of the wonderful towns nearby and certainly the lake and State Park. The campground has tons of beautiful birds in nature and was excellent for our stay.

Perfect Spot for dry camping
Awesome spot to set up camp. There are plenty of camp spots for rigs of any size. It is a quiet, peaceful spot. There are a handful of hiking trails all around, and there is also a small lake about 5 miles away. The only downside is there are no stores close by. Silver city is the closest with shopping, gas, and a cute little downtown area. Also, there is no water or dumping stations, so bring everything you need!
