While you have to cross from PA into NJ, the greatest advantage of this Home Depot is the proximity to the major 78 highway, which is less than a 7 minute drive once you exit the turnpike. One of the main attraction point of this iconic orange home fixer-upper is the ease and convenience with which you’ll find yourself accessing this retailer just moments from such a major highway– so close enough to be convenient, but far enough way where you won’t hear any of the traffic noise. The lot itself is definitely large-sized and when we passed by, it was fairly jam packed, which we were somewhat surprised by, given that the nearest major city is Allentown, which is far enough west such that there shouldn’t be as much traffic as what we found here.
You will smell the sticker price of this paved parking paradise as it is either very well-maintained or brand spanking new, but however new the place might be, a few things are certain, including that this location is very well organized, flat and while somewhat jammed up, not to unmanageable. There’s decent lighting, but given the surrounding area feels like a page out of‘safe suburbia’ you’ll feel incredibly relaxed on the safety& security front. Given the specific location of the store, which is in very close proximity to many other retail outlets, store fronts and strip malls, you’ll have a lot of access to many shopping options, places to stock up on supplies as well as local and national chain restaurants.
Insider’s tips? Here’s a few:(1) IMHO the best spots here at this Home Depot are those that are furthest south and east along the frontage road that brought you to this place, which while positioning you closer to the main thoroughfare connecting you to all of the shops and restaurants, keeps you far enough away from the Home Depot front entrance;(2) When you grow tired of trying to conjure up that next meal from the remains of what is in your onboard mini-fridge or you just want to try out some local fare, then there’s a very decent smattering of local dive joints as well as fast casual restaurants like Franks Pizza& Italian Restaurant, Burger King, Bento Sushi, McDonald’s, Applebee’s, Bella Mia Pizzeria, IHOP, Stone Tavern, Teppanyaki Grill& Sushi Buffet, White Castle, Dunkin’ and Chipotle Mexican Grill;(3) Should you be RVing with your four-legged friends with you, then you’ll be in luck as just due east of here you’ll discover a nice patch of nature called Beatty’s Field, which has a number of really good bike trails and hiking paths for you and your pet to stretch your legs;(4) If you have a canoe or kayak and want to dip the beak of your vessel into some fresh water, then head due west to The Delaware River where you can not only get some decent oaring in, but drop a line or two as well to grab a nice dinner of blue gill; and(5) Looking for a fun diversion for the kiddos? Then head on over to Crayola Experience for some coloring fun inside of a family-friendly warehouse complete with themed events, restaurant, store and endless coloring experiences.
